Comparing the complete world map of the source vs the small ring of surviving area on the first is tragic. So much lost, just because Ardbert tried his best
And it made me realise more that the Ascians views were beyond wrong for not seeing the manipulation of someone who wanted to bring good into the world as wrong on so many levels.
I think the pixies and fuath came from the dead of the voeburt kingdom when it was swallowed by water- the pixies from the children who perished and the fuath from the adults. I thought somewhere in the main storyline or in the pixie quests it talked about the pixies being the spirits of dead children.
They are confirmed to be the spirits of the dead and might have come from Voeburt, but it's explicitly stated that the water came AFTER the Fuath came to the region.
@@StCrimson667 exactly. The water came after the fair folk made it to Voeburt and rechristened it to Il Mheg, the Fuath took the lowlands flooded them into a watery realm that suited their fancy
17:50 This was not the plan. Cyella and the Ascians' plan was to have Ardbert kill Shadowkeeper Cyellia, Mitron and Loghrif, banishing Darkness from the first, and tipping the First over the edge toward Light, causing its Rejoining. However, Ardbert couldn't bring himself to kill Cyella, leaving just a small amount of Darkness in the world, and thus a small amount of hope. To quote Cyella herself 'Had [Ardbert] but embraced his role and struck me down, victory would have been mine. But Ardbert, dear Ardbert, would not forsake his heart. In the end, he chose mercy. He chose love, and I was undone.'
@@WyrmLimion Huh, weird. That must be a retcon, because I went and looked up the quest dialogue to make sure before commenting. I don't think the two versions of the story can be reconciled with each other. Is there an official answer on the relative authority the Encyclopaedia has vs the game itself? Venturing in to opinion territory, I like the version presented in game much better. I think it makes not only a better story of mercy actually turning out to be the best option over blind justice, but it also works out better with the mechanics of Light and Darkness (introducing chaos to the First really feels like it should result in an increase in the power of Darkness, rather than unleashing Light). Also framing the plan as a heroic self sacrifice for Cyella to save the 13th, which parallels another villain from the post-endwalker MSQ...
This is a fantastic summary and I learned a bunch of details I missed. I really enjoyed Shadowbringers and it was my favorite story arc of the whole game and I wish I could play through it for the first time again.
I feel that way about the entire game. I still fondly remember my first time playing through the game, absorbing every experience it gave me. Give it a few years and people will start calling for 14-Classic lol
Shadow Bringers was the "wow" moment for me where i fell in love with the game again after ARR. I got bored with heavensward and quit for 8 years before returning. Stormblood wasn't enjoyable for me either, but ShBr and EW i truly enjoyed.
@@WyrmLimion and if the source had managed to prevent the srpread of black rose somehow the first would have ended up like the 13th but aspected to light.

Lesson learned. Never try your best.
Makes you think doesn't it, on a world with similar conditions if we lost control, what could occur.

That was my original thought in ShB, until the Encyclopaedia contradicted that idea.
I decided to go with the book on this one.

Oh my my, i was just thinking that i would really want to learn more about the first and then this video lands straight on my lap, thank you!
Glad I could aid you in your research!
Gosh darnit, I love Shadowbringers. They did such a good job with that expansion. I've played through it 3 times.
Its still a high point for many people I know.
Emet “remember us”
Emet is endwalker “oh hydaelyn you jester”
I love the fact that Rokans if given enough time to evolve they could rival allagans and maybe rejoining the both shards via technology.
I find them fascinating. I'm glad we learned more about them in Volume 3 but I want more!

Arr and Storm didn't have much pay off in their msq
The pixies were always there, they just remained invisible to the people of Voebert.
That's was nice, i definitely will pass through the ruins and map with a different mind now, maybe even explore a bit by myself
That was well done,
I am really glad you think so, I put a fair bit of effort into it :)
Just found you! Love your accent. Thanks for the lore!
haha thank you for that :)
ronka, is kinda mirroring the amdapori, we've seen inanimate objects come to life in the lost city
Ardbert ❤❤❤❤
If they delayed saving the First it would have been too late
They might have weeks, even days, considering Eden wiped 90% of the planet clean.

After the absolute shit show of an MSQ that dawntrail was. Shadowbringers still reigns supreme over all expansions. Closely followed by Endwalker.
The first elven king and warrior of light is summoned from a painting in the Grand Cosmos dungeon.
I wanted to go into Cosmos for research but somehow forgot all about it. Ill have to go back in soon to see them again
