  • If your residual current device (RCD) continues to trip, it is highly probable that there is an electrical issue within your house, causing one of the circuit breakers to switch off the RCD. Discover how to identify the specific circuit breaker that is tripping, isolate the malfunctioning electrical equipment, and reset the RCD to restore power.

    Cheers! My wife had half-plugged in the kettle and tripped the circuit. Couldn't understand why the switch wouldn't switch on until I unplugged everything.

    Thanks so much but now I'm sad. I think it was my extension lead that my dad made. It is probably a couple of decades old though but it's so solid I thought it would last forever! ☺️ Is there any chance it's just a fuse or something or does it mean it's faulty & needs to be binned?

    Excellent video thanks. I have now at least got all the lights working with the circuit breaker to the kitchen not working. The rest of the power points to the house were ok as they are on a different circuit. Call the sparky on Monday morning!

    Hi, I have got a problem in my cooker. 3 of them are working but particularly one cooker place is tripping out the RCD. How can I solve this? Any idea?

      Investigate your cooker, Maybe the heater element inside your cooker is broken

    If its faulty, do I have to get a eletri Ian come and fix it or would buying a new one cure the problem?

    • @excelelectrician
      @excelelectrician  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Probably best if you call an electrician

    Thanks for the video. It confirmed my attempt to find my problem. However, the problem still exists..hahahahahahaha....My RCD would not reset, and I found the breaker that popped it. However, I can rest both the RCD and the breaker and after about a week, it pops again. I have isolated it to two rooms. I unplugged everything and I put a load on the circuit, but neither the breaker or RCD will pop. It happens randomly. Right now, everything is reset and I have everything plugged in and ON. No popping of either breaker. It happens about once a week and unfortunately, two times this week. Once while we were on vacation and we lost everything in our freezer and refer while away. It isn't consistent so I can't find the problem. That issue was not addressed in the video, but the isolation you spoke of is absolutely correct. I just can isolate my problem. All items plugged in work without problem and nothing breaks the circuit by either being turned on or plugged in. CRAZY. The visiting electrician found nothing wrong. If you have another video of this type of problem, could you link for me. I have yet to find the answer.

      If the circuit breaker and the RCD tripping at the same time you do have a short circuit between live and earth you need an electrician to attend and break the circuit down

      @@yassinbenosman5768 Hi, thanks for writing. Nope, only the RCD pops off. Once I turn all breakers off then reset the RCD, I turn on each breaker one by one. At the third breaker, POP goes the RCD. But, everything resets normally and now I am on day five of no incidents. My longest run is 14 days, so I'm hopeful for a longer episode of no issues. No electrician has time or wants to come out and take a look. Landlord says to deal with it...LMAO.

      Hi, even with all the switches off my RCD just flips off again? Would replacing the RCD work or do I need an electrician

    What if the appliance that is tripping the RCD isn't faulty? How would you resolve the issue then?

    • @mini696
      @mini696 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If an appliance is tripping the RCD, the appliance is faulty.
      If you can't find a faulty appliance it could be a bad breaker.
