Seems like Kanye has been marginalized for most of his career. I guess history does repeat itself since in this interview he is also talking about not limiting his creativity. i agree on not listening to rap all the time. I need other voices other genres other perspectives to listen to.
i feel you it's boring to listen to one genre all the time shit i hated classic music but now i am amazed at how complex it really is and i'm a artist as well it helped me to develop my flow more i love MUSIC and not only one genre
I'm also an artist. Go to my channel and hear me out. I'm open to hear your music as well. follow me on twitter @daverappalot.. I will return the favor if you decide to.
Kanye is the kind of success story that encourages me as a underground artist with a small following. Seeing how he’s developed his skills and slowly blown up after seizing each and every opportunity he’s been giving has been inspirational! Mans has quickly become a mainstay in the industry and for good reason. Dude is too nice! I know if I put in the work, I can reach a larger audience some day too, but for now, I’m happy being a supporter. My turn will come too. Salute to Kanye🔥
I feel bad for him here because it's clear that he doesn't really want to talk about his mom but she keeps bringing it up. I know it's out of concern, but damn. He kept trying to change the subject and she kept going back to it
I still listin to 808's and heartbreak it's like the moment the album came out it got me, and every time i listen to it, it brings me to that moment of time. Coowl stuff.

i literally cry watching these old videos of kanye west..... i really miss this dude, not the crazy individual that this industry has created ..... it really does feel like the loss of an artist :(
i saw kanye being interviewed,on the dailydownload show,as i was an audience member,i have the footage at home,he wasnt to involved with his fans,he only accepted a cd from a male fan and walked out the studio, leaving the other fans dissapointed, who wanted to ask questions, this was in 2006,in 2007 i saw angie martinez on a hot 97 float,at the puerto rican day parade, she was waving to her fans and very happy and smiling.
Kanye is going in a different direction based on what he is going through and feeling. He is trying to show his diversity and creative sides of his personality THROUGH his music ! I am a Kanye fan no matter what direction he goes with his music cause Kanye is real and will always be real . Big up to Kanye West ! I just hope he doesnt do another album like this again !!! LMAO !!
I hate when people say he changed cause he's been the same for a while. he might've changed after his mother passed but his greatest achievements came after. "I dress so white but my swag so urban", most people still dressing like him to this day too.
I totally get it. My first job out of college was operations for a football team. You are around football every second of the day and on the weekends you will travel with the team. I did this for 5 years of my life. A few years into that job I stopped playing fantasy football with my friends and they couldnt understand why. I said I am around football all day every day, the last thing I want to do with the little free time that i have is watch more football.
Kanye is a lot smarter than a lot of people think, people just judge him and make him out to be something he's not. Plus the freestyle at the end was sick.
I really dig this interview. My intellectual and artistic interest in Kanye has really been peaked by this. So much press has focused on statements from him that sounded just crazy and super-narcissistic...I just dismissed him out of hand. But I gotta say, I like the way the man approaches his work and refuses to let conventions hold him back. Onward and upward.
He seems to be much more comfortable doing this radio-thingie than some of the TV apperances he´s made. People seem to forget he is only human. GO KANYE!
Kanye is so under rated to me he is the best rapper I mean dude is creative all around when it comes to music , live performances, music videos everything BEST RAPPER IN NY OPINION don't care what any one says.
nah not really i mean he did say he likes dark music. im actually glad i saw this because it explains alot. technically we didnt lose the real kanye. yeezus is a dark album, he said himself the real me likes dark music. kanye just actually being himself. i dont blame him neither with all this shit goin on in his life with the paparazzi fights and everything. but actually, once Ye takes the time to raise north, i think we'll see the happier kanye in his next solo album (not watch the throne 2)
I think it's cool that Kanye is one of the only dudes in mainstream hip hop, or mainstream music in general, that becomes noticeably less mainstream with each release. It just proves that Kanye doesn't care about how many records he sells. He wants to make music that he likes, shit that he wants to hear... and if other people don't like it then fuck it. I wish more people in the music business would be that way; maybe I'd actually like the radio if that were the case.
those two are constantly working i agree eminem is always in the studio apparently..and kanye drops albums and immediately goes and starts something else

But somehow when Kanye releases something totally real thats 100% from the heart ppl go nuts just cuz its not the status quo. 808s like in ur case scratched the surface of the soul and was nothing less that amazing.
You say a valid point, but at the same time you have to look at it through Kanye's perspective. He said that he used music to get over the death of his mother so how could he do that without letting it surface to the public...
