Drainage holes may be good, but for a small planter like this with stones in the bottom should be good as long as you don't over water. It will save watering every day unless it is too hot. My advice is to try without holes first.❤
GO GIRL! I have been wanting to try this and have thought the process through umpteen times! Buy a bargain pot of natural yoghurt with the happy bacteria in. Coat the 'pot' and rub it with some moss....in a few months the moss will grow and your pot will look aged as well as BLOODY BRILLIANT. You have pushed me to have a go. Bless your hearts. Xxx
WTG Lesa. Great job. There are so many things you can do to these. You can use glass stones from the dollar store, or broken glass inserted in the outside while the cement is still wet. It can turn out like a mosaic. You can do your own pattern, etc. I watch Helen Wyatt. She is an 86 year old grandma in Georgia. The things she made with cement are beautiful. She now does live streams and not so much cement. She made all kinds of pots using old jeans from her grandson. She even covered teddybears in cement and painted them. Now that you got the skill, possibilities are endless.❤
Lesa I love the planter!!! I've always liked these but have never made one. I think I'll make one now!!! lol Many thanks for sharing. All the best to you and Ted. Perfect!!! fits the spot too. Loves the plants.
When I lived in nz we dug up loads of broken china in gardens, which I set in concrete paving rounds. Plastic bag inside a bucket as mould then topped with a sort of mosiac pattern
Who new playing mud pies could be such fun, and the end result is excellent! Making some more with your grandson, that will be fun for the both of you. Could you write your grandsons name on the front and date it. Would be lovely to look back on at a later date, Well done
👏👏. It turned out really nice and goes so well on the window sill. I wasn’t sure at first when you wanted to paint it, but as usual Lesa was correct 👍👍. I think it will need a couple of drainage holes, maybe put them in whilst the cement is wet? Annie & Brian
I think it turned out fine and really nice quality stuff you might get local orders for more of them who knows ;) well done Lesa not surprised it went well
Leave your bottom alone, good enough as is. 🤣🤣🤣 Great job done and the use of gloves on manipulating the cement drain holes, natural yogurt , dont paint blinkin FAB job. ||
You need drainage holes in the bottom of your planters. But great job! You can make some by inserting 1 slightly smaller pot inside a larger 1 and filling the gap with concrete.
Turned out great! My neighbor and I are planning on making bird/bee baths using elephant ear leaves and cement. Fingers crossed they turn out as well as your.
That looks great!! You can paint the outside with natural yoghurt to help it age more quickly but even if you don’t in a year it’ll look great I reckon. Could you put drainage holes in the bottom as part of the making process? Commenting as I watch so you might mention this.
Wonderful imitation stone trough. You might like to look up Gardeners' World, tuffa stone trough making. Their recipe substituted peat moss for one part of the sand to make the imitation stone trough, lighter in weight. Instead of oiling the plastic container that they used to form cement mixture on they covered the plastic or styrofoam container with plastic, then covered the plastic sheeting surface with the cement mixture. As long as you are experimenting, you might like to try a tuffa stone trough made with one part cement, one part sand and one part peat moss... this is from memory but I believe that was the proportions. They found styrofoam fish boxes in which fresh fish was sold worked a treat to form their trough on. I do like the idea of the sand castle form to shape your cement on... innovative. I think you can also color the cement while mixing it with natural products or even acrylic craft paint. Keep up the great programming.
OOPs. on your next planter you might want to include a drainage hole... you can use any cylinder from the recycling bin and push it into the cement bottom, before it dries, such as a bit of old piping, a cork from a bottle of wine, or in the case of either a styrofoam mold or the sand castle mold... stick a few small wooden scewers ir branches in and allow to dry, then break off the scewers or remove scewers if you can to create small drainage holes to prevent flooding of flower pot from torrential rains or over watering. The wooden skewers should eventually rot out of the mold if that can be removed at end of process... other tubing might work better such as a bit of old water hose
That was fantastic the vase is super If you had too buy them it costs a fortune. why don’t you make some vases and sell them too the public That would be great ❤❤
It looks great! For the next one, perhaps a couple of drainage holes on the bottom would be good idea.
Don't forget a drainage hole lol works well 😊 there are heaps you can create 😅

Was going to suggest this too. For outside definitely drainage holes.
Looks Great! Don't forget a drainage hole! Well done
I was thinking that too- it's very necessary if this is sitting on the window ledge.
Well done Lesa! Looks like it belongs there!
Encore une réussite félicitation , congratulation
Looks lovely leesa except no drainage holes 😉
Love the planters they will look amazing in the arches.
That looks brilliant…I bet Tim Holtz never thought his sprays would be used for something like that. 💖💖💖
Lisa, I love the planter you made. I think it is perfect for the cottage to add beauty to the window sills. Kathy USA 🇺🇸
That turned out great!
And will be sturdy with the wire mesh inside!
Well done I like you painting it 🇫🇷🇺🇸
Great result ❤

Fabulous job Lesa I just might try that myself thanks xx
love your planter. beautiful for your first attempt. cheers
Great idea & good job! Suggestion- make several drain holes in the bottom before cement sets. This is better for the plants when you water them!😊
great job! love it! I might try this at home. 😀
Nice job!
Well done, Leesa. Maybe put a draining hole in the next ones.

Well done Lesa. The planter has turned out really good, and the paint adds a nice touch and blends in with the building. Fantastic! 👍
Thanks so much 😊
Good job girl, well done ❤
I made a few yrs ago, I use perlite pellets to make them lighter. Yours came out very nice. Perfect for the arched windows sill.

We are on the same page! I giggled at Lesa's 'bottom' remark ( how old are we?😂) and just left a comment re the yoghurt trick too. ❤
@@moiragoldsmith7052 Gotta be haha ,, same warped humour.!!
Brilliant job
Great looking planter but may need some drainage hole added when making the next one.
I love your planter. It looks beautiful 😍
Planter looking lovely, well done.
It's beautiful. Favorite line: "I was never good at that either." You're a great artist, not just a good one.
Excellent vlog. Keep it up. You’re doing great.

Sounds great!
Love it Lesa, wonder if you could create some kind of stencil or pattern unique to the chateau that you could mould into the outside.
Great job !!!❤
very interesting technology!

Using Yougert with moss blended into it. Paint on containers for a natural look.
It looks really good x

Well done Lesa! Wonder if you need drain holes?
👍
Looks good, could you add a stamp onto the outside of the planter for the chateau?
May be some drain holes in bottom, just use a bit of pipe 😊🇦🇺
Might want drainage holes in planter.
That was fantastic the vase is super If you had too buy them it costs a fortune. why don’t you make some vases and sell them too the public That would be great ❤❤
Great idea!

🌟👏👍🍀💐
🔨🔨
Drainage holes?
Pouring old yogurt over it & it will age itself.
You need thinner gloves for crafts
Always use gloves with cement!
