I live in the US (Kentucky), and somehow have developed a fascination with watching people redoing homes in Sweden. Out of them all, your videos are my favorites. I love your home and all the design choices you’ve made, especially the green exterior. The chickens! Your clothes! What’s not to like?!

I really like your channel; minimal, thoughtful talking, no blaring background music, well, and then there are the chickens. A homesteading channel trifecta. And I guess it doesn’t hurt that my daughter in-law, same age, looks and sounds like you, with the same mannerisms and facial expressions. Born on a different continent. And I love her. Best.

To maximise your space you could try to plant vegetables who can grow verticaly like cucumber, squash, peas, beans, etc. These are very productive and most of them can be freeze for later uses. Because they are cheap, I never grow potato or onion. I prefer using the space for garlic or shallot.

I forgot to add that I used to have a frog in my garden (don't really know if it was a toad). It lived there for several years and I assumed it was the same one. I made a little shelter for it as well, I used half of a larger pot (that I found, broken, in my neighbourhood). It was not such a Taj Mahal like Paddy's but it worked.

A bit of straw (or that grass you gathered) stuffed between your weaved branches and the fence, might work to cut back a bit of wind. Not sure how it would look though. Otherwise you could go burlap or sackcloth or similar for a natural material you can compost when it gets too tore up.

I like seeing everything you do. Wonderful to have all the outside lights. I was wondering if you gave up grass and made the whole yard a vegetable garden, Something like two rolls together with a narrow walk on either side, then repeat. Seems you would be able to grow more things. The chickens are such big babies....it just amazes me every time. They are fun, fun, and fun. Your basement is an amazing space., glad you have that. I guess as winter arrives you will work on the attic bedroom more. I have seen some very unusual stairs in a few of the tiny homes I have been looking at with a neighbor, One staircase when not in use folded back on the wall, hanging there like a picture, One slid forward when not in use, then pulled out to use. Maybe you would like to take a look. Thanks!

Offer the owner of the field to share the veggies. It would be nice if you could buy the field. Toads dig into the ground. Some nice grass mulch over his home would keep him warm. You are so lucky to have the beautiful creek next to your property and the wooded slope that you have now cleaned.
P.S. I have been assessing doors here. Private house doors, where I live, open inward. Public building outer doors open outward, if they aren’t sliding doors. All inside doors in houses open inward, as far as I have looked. I am in the U.S.
