I never thought of calling my quirky garden spots "Junk Gardens " but I like the name and it's fitting. You have a really delightful way of speaking and it adds to the enjoyment. Thank you for the new inspiration 🌻🍃🌿🌱
They actually are bowling ball models...They are halves only. I have seen whole gardens edged with bowling balls. They can also be painted, too. Use what you have.
I have always had great luck using cardboard or paper bags under mulch. Weeds need air and light to survive and cardboard deprives them of both. And yes, in my opinion, Snow on the Mountain is a weed due to its invasive properties. I have some in one of my front gardens that I am currently fighting. I may have to give in and re-do the whole garden. It is in the shade most of the time, so my go-to plants for that area are hostas and coral bells. Thanks for a great video!
I really like your projects and I think that little side yard looks much better now. I do wish you included a shot farther back so we could see the whole space together. Thank you for sharing
I have the tiny old old sink from my grandma's bathroom in my front..weedbed ..ha , my kids and husband think I am crazy but I have the vision like this !
Love your junk garden idea!! I already use an old chair on my porch area for a flowering basket. I'd love to find an old garden gate!! I also use galvanized water cans, garden tools and I love any metal plant stands!! I have a small step ladder I use for plants on my deck. And I just bought a med size step ladder for my side porch for flower pots. Love that idea!! I also have to share I recently inherited the vintage red water pump that used to be at my dad's one room schoolhouse!! I'm putting it in the corner and plant daisy's for an old time feel. :) show us more ideas !!
I have a Radio Flyer too, it was free on the curb. I use alot of old enamel ware for planters. I'd also like to get an old garden gate to put in my flower garden. Long live junk!
Great redo of your side yard. I love wagons for planting, I just put pots in my wagon. Your garden is amazing. I have a vintage high chair I'm thinking about incorporating into my flower bed. Great inspiration thank you!
I hate snow on the Mountain so much it’s impossible 😂😂🤣 the after is so good. I’ve got a few old wagons I think you may have finally inspired me to bite the bullet and drill holes. Great job!!
Great side yard transformation! I too have a junk backyard and garden! Like you I love that it brings uniqueness to my space and sets it apart from all the others! Thank you for sharing❤️❤️❤️ Oh and I have an old Radio Flyer planter also😊
U could have made a great fairy garden in the wagon with different sized pots to make little homes and a pond Also if u turn the cinder block to see the opening spaces u could put small pots inside and have more color U could also put a child’s umbrella sticking out of the boot to add more color
Awesome, I hv been working on making me a little garden sitting area out of things I already have. I got so many creative ideas and inspiration from this video. I am a new subscriber.
Neat ideas! I saw a pitcher pump like yours that someone had planted with succulents on the bottom. I thought it looked neat. Your garden looks beautiful in full bloom.

Happy to help. Best of luck with your junk garden.
Thanks so much for focusing on our kids wagon. It does my heart good to see it being used in a beautiful way. 💕
You are so welcome!
The cinderblock painted in the colour of the water pump and then turn so the holes face outwards pop colourful pot plants in them.
Love th old wagon.😊
My mantra going to yard sales etc…. If you can put holes in it, it becomes a planter😊. No matter what it was! Love you ideas. Just subscribed!
Never would have thought of a bowling ball!! 😃

An old chicken feeder! Going to do that tomorrow!
When you lay down cardboard, you really need to remove any tape or adhesive labels on the cardboard. They wont break down
To kill the weedy plants put down yard fabric under the mulch. It helps keep the weeds at bay!! Looks great- TFS!!!!!
I am hoping the cardboard will work and break down naturally. Fingers crossed.

Would love to see your photos of what you’ve done. Sounds quaint
Colanders are great planters! I have some as hanging planters and some not. Some have pots inside and some Ive planted directly.
Great suggestion. Perfect for planting. Now I am on the hunt for some. Thank you!
