I dunno why but this channel should have 5 million subscribers by now. It's child friendly. It has great and truthful content. The editing is television standard. The host is literally living it. No fake passions.

2:08 Jaya, yes!!! Star Wars-style scene transition to that wide panoramic vista, followed by that epic music… evocative of Lawrence of Arabia… dude, it’s absolute perfection! 😙🤌🏻 I’m nominating John for a Tubie. 🏆🥇
I’ve been to a lot of food filling and bottling plants and it’s always nice to see small places like this making small batch products and are successful at it
The way you produced this one is like a "How it's made!" video, but even better because you add your personal touch and perspective. I loved learning about the entire process. I really need to try Yuzukosho the next time I visit because somehow I haven't yet!
"It has the scent very characteristic of Japan." So true! Luckily I can get it here in Oslo. And the taste brings me back to Japan every time. It's probably my favorite condiment too. Another great episode John! Wow, I miss Japan now!
Yuzukosho is a such a great condiment! The video quality is stellar and the aerial views coupled with that music really helped with this unique Japanese story being told. Great job John! 👍😋
Something else I appreciate is that Japanese people aren't dubbed. I like to hear their original voices and get annoyed when other videos just cover over their voice completely!
Oh my! Ever since I found out how much you loved yuzu kosho I went and picked up a bottle at the Marukai store and you got me hooked on that! Thank you for sharing your love for things like this and for introducing me to new flavors of Japan! Itadakimas!
Impressed with the whole hand preparation process of Yuzukosho (some serious food safety apparel there). My husband and I always enjoy your OiJ JD episodes as well as your streaming videos. Thanks so much for all your interesting and fun content!
Hi John, I always watch your videos that are “edited” (I don’t like live stream uploads), I want to say that your videos are interesting and I enjoy learning new stuff about Japan 🇯🇵 In my eyes, Japan has the most interesting culture and people in the world 🙂 Thank you for sharing with us🙏🏻
all of this video is so much work in this. i love the music background, then the content, the nature view. so much meaning and peaceful, love it, thanks John for bring this to us. I love Japan, like I learn japanese in university and now 6 years after graduated, I still love japan and definitely visit there someday
Every time you upload a video, I get to add something to my pool of "Japan Knowledge", and I love it! The beautiful and scenic landscapes are pretty good bonus too.😁 Looking forward to more episodes and live streams. Cheers from India!
Japan needs to export this on a big scale. According to Angela of Internationally Me, she has said many yuzu fruits are left unpicked on the trees because farmers are getting older and can’t pick them fast enough.
I live in Tokyo but some of my family members live in Kochi so I’m happy to see it is featured😆✨It has great nature and perfect weather for growing veges and fruits😊 Interesting that the color of yuzukosho is not from Yuzu but green pepper! Thank you for interesting presentation ❤️
I used to live in Hyogo, just across the water from Shikoku, so I know that Shikoku's Yuzu are AMAZING. My favourite ポン酢 is 馬路村。It's super hard to get here in Canada, though.

I agree wholeheartedly Yuzu kosho is just the best condiment out there. I tried it a few years ago while visiting Japan and fell in love instantly 💕. Now every time I visit buy a bunch to take home with me since it’s basically impossible to get in my home country 😭. Now due to Covid I didn’t have it in a long time and I miss it greatly 🥺. You are so lucky to visit a factory that makes it ☺️.
After seeing this video in bed last night, I decided to get a jar at my local Asian market. I know why this can be addicting. It reminds me a lot of chili lime. It's lemony but savory, then a mild kick follows immediately after. I ate it with grilled mackerel and some rice. Really happy that I stumbled on this video!
I’m watching this because I bought some Yuzu Kosho from the store only because I recently discovered yuzu and want to try it in all ways. I actually had no idea what yuzu kosho was and was really just looking for a video on how to use but instead I found this amazing explanation and lesson on it. So cool, thanks!
I really like that the yuzukosho production still involved a lot of people from the mixing to bottling and to packaging. Not just all big and fast machines (even though that would probably speed up their production). It creates job oppurtunities for the locals there. I mean, they even have a designated person weighing each bottle!

Great idea I would love the recipe
I love your only in Japan episodes so much. Please keep making more. I don't mind the on-the-go ones but I just love these ones better.

Love yuzu! That lemon/lime flavor with the after taste of mandarin orange. It makes the best marmalade.
As an Englishman I'm now very jealous, looking at my raspberry jam on toast (breakfast) and so longing to try your suggestion instead
Great vid John😄👍❤

Another great episode John! Wow, I miss Japan now!
Can you describe it's smell to someone who does not have access to it?
Never disappointing with your documentaries! Well done!
When I discovered spicy red/aka yuzu kosho it was a game changer. Now it’s one of my favourite condiments, can be used on almost everything!
Love what you've done with the new channel!! Extremely excited about the content and presentation. We love your work, John!!

Great stuff as always John. Close to a 100k subscribers! Let's goooooooo
I knew yuzukosho was your favorite condiment and now I know how to enjoy it. Thank you for another informative piece. 🙏🏼
Yes! Yuzukosho is my FAVORITE!!! They grow a lot of Yuzu here in Miyazaki-ken. But Huganatsu is more abundant here. And is also very very yummy!

Love that hauntingly beautiful orchestral music when the camera pans over the river valley!
Sounds exciting! I just came from your livestream a moment ago :)
Wowowowow... Mind blowing content.. Excellent job Mr. John Daub!!!
Japan needs to export this on a big scale. According to Angela of Internationally Me, she has said many yuzu fruits are left unpicked on the trees because farmers are getting older and can’t pick them fast enough.
Urbanization is quite a problem in Japan (also in many country) so many young gen left rural to live in big city.. no one want to be farmer
nonsense , the japs are selling fruits at ridiculous price which yuzu originated from china
This video is TOP-NOTCH.
1:36 Dang John, usually I have to pay extra for THOSE videos!
Love the inside factory shots.
Constantly expanding my beltline with delicious episodes. Keep it up buddy.
Love yuzu pepper. Add a pinch to your soup. It immediately makes it so much more complex and flavor layered. Best souvenir to bring back from Japan.

Had YUZU this morning......best way to start your day!
Yuzu is good on everything!!
Oh John, getting all excited over your condiments! 1:36
Love yuzu kosho. The smell in the factory must be amazing. Looks so vivid before it got pasteurized.
It looks so delicious! I’ve never tried it. I love how the factory takes care with their product. Such a neat process. The mayo scene is the best!
I definitely need to try this out! Thanks John for telling us about your favourite condiment 😋

Great video! Loved learning about an amazing Japanese condiment! Very cool!
So interesting, I’ve never heard of this product before! ✨

1:35 Seriously John? LOL!
I was thinking the same thing when I saw him make that "O" face, haha.
Compared to how much of the video was left, that clip was premature.
He’s a man of culture
Watching OIJ is the best pandemic remedy for travel lockdowns! Arigato Gozaimasu, John!
Wow , you guys are fast with the comments. Be encouraged John.
I'm thrilled to see and read so many comments about the video and eating more and more with Yuzu! Yum.
That sounds insanely delicious. My mouth was watering the entire duration of the video
I need to check and see if any of the Asian grocery stores in my area have this... It sounds delicious.
Yuzukosho is the best! Arigatoo for the video John!
I love Yuzu! I'm trying to find a tree to grow here in California. Due to agricultural laws, they are difficult to find.
Don't forget steel boots and armored gloves 😜
Hey John! The production quality of your videos is spectacular. Looking forward to more videos!
