    I remember building this kit when it was offered by Lindberg. I still have the blazer. The chassis already painted and the body still in primer sitting in the box for over 16 years. Watching your videos makes me want to finish some of the kits I started.

    Awesome tips again Chris. The black sharpie trick? Awesome. I’ve used the silver sharpie on my ‘16 Stingray’s grille piece and mirrors, terrific! I’ll be using it for the coil over shocks on the Shelby as well. Thanks! Correction, I found a metallic silver sharpie, not the regular silver.

    You were probably having difficulty finding pictures of a 3.5L v6 engine for a 1992 Toyota pickup because the v6's equipped in them were 3.0L's, known as the 3VZE. Awesome build and detail. I drive a '94 XtraCab 4x4 with the 22RE 4 cylinder and 5 speed manual, and I'd like to build a model of it for my work desk.

      Thank you for spending some of your day on my channel!
      Well, at least my 2020 Tacoma TRD Pro has a 3.5 in it now. LOL My FJ has the 4.0.

    • @cbh148
      @cbh148 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@hpiguy Excellent trucks man! The 3.5 and a lesser version of that 4.0 were built here in Huntsville, AL. No doubt they are better on fuel and power than my old 2.4 22RE, and being Toyota, I wouldn't expect any reliability issues from either rig. Maybe a 1/24 current gen Tacoma model will drop some day.

    • @krotchlickmeugh627

      The 3.4 is what youre thinking of.

      Has 400,000 miles on it now.

    I recently bought this model truck about a couple weeks ago and when I opened the box I had a nasty surprise. The cab of the truck was completely broken. I managed to fix it with putty and super glue. It doesnt even look like it was smashed to hell. I live in the next state over from you and would like to meet up with you and build some models.

    I usually bury my decals in the clear coat. Is that something that you should do, or is it just a matter of taste not the clear coat the decals but put them on afterwards?

    • @hpiguy
      @hpiguy  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lots of ways to skin the cat. You can do it your way and it covers them nicely, or my way, usually both methods have good results.
      The only issue you'd have burying them in a lot of clear is if they lift or react badly to the clear you have lots of work to sand it all off. But that's rare.

    I know those older Toyota pickups, mainly the 4X4’s,( one by one scale), you could get a kit to drop a small block Chevy engine down in them! A friend of mine had a early 80’s model Toyota 4X4 P/U , and he had put over 400,000 miles on the big 4 cylinder Toyota engine that came in the truck, so he bought the kit and dropped a Chevy 350 ci down in his. ( actually that may have been a 302 or 305 he put in )! He had planned to put a 350 in it but found out that motor was bad so it was one of the others he used! Anyways, that’s a good looking truck there! 👍

      Do you mean the decals?
      The instruction sheet tells you how to use waterslide decals.
      I also demonstrate decals in numerous videos. See my Miller Beer trailer and other videos for how.

    what's the length of the whole car? thanks

    • @hpiguy
      @hpiguy  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello,
      Each square on the bench is 1 inch, you can see the size from the video.
      Or, if you take the length of the Toyota pickup in real life (you can google for that info) and divide by 20, you'll find the length of the kit.
      I do not have the kit here right now to measure for you but you'll be able to find out the length easily using the methods above.

      @@hpiguy I was just wondering if there was any specs on the box about the exact dimensions since I couldn't find anything on google, thanks though, I think counting the grids gave me a good enough estimate

    • @hpiguy
      @hpiguy  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Google pulls up Edmunds and they say this version was 186 inches, which makes the kit 9.3 inches and that's just about spot on to what the kit was, minus the brush guard I used.

    The V6 is a 3.0, the 3VZE, it was SOHC and actually a pretty bad engine, they blew headgaskets like crazy and were pretty underpowered. The 22R was much better.
