Adult Swim bumpers/commercials - May 25th, 2003 (first "black & white" cards bumper)

- From my VHS recordings, here are the bumpers/commercials/promos from a partial capture of the Adult Swim block from Sunday, May 25th, 2003. It is my understanding that this was the first night of the new "black and white card" bumpers , which replaced the "instruction manual" bumpers used previously, from January to May, 2003. This is the first night of the bumpers that would define Adult Swim from May, 2003 to March, 2014.
Included here:
1. "3 Musketeers" commercial
2. "Yummy Bubbles" commercial (these two Cartoon Network commercials aired prior to Adult Swim starting up on my VHS tape). Kinda looks like I hit "pause" and unpaused right as the Adult Swim broadcast started up.
3. Adult Swim "Parental Advisory" bumper
4. Adult Swim "Black and White card" bumper (the first one). This one is a greetings and an explanation of tonight's lineup.
"Home Movies" started right after this.
5. 2nd "Black and White card" bumper. ("We will sell this space for cash"). This aired right at the start of "Home Movies" commercial break.
6. Starbucks doubleshot expresso commercial
7. Snickers commercial ("Grumpiness!")
8. Lifesavers Fusions commercial
9. 1-800-COLLECT commercial
10. Arby's commercial (ah yes, the "talking oven mitt" era. I think I recognize that voice)...
11. AMP energy drink commercial
12. Hulk (2003) movie promo ("in theaters June 20th")
13. 3rd "black and white card" bumper (a promo for an episode of "Futurama" tomorrow night). This aired right before the start of the 2nd half of the "Home Movies" episode (I forgot - "Home Movies" is 30 minutes long)
14. 4th "black and white card" bumper (this one basically saying "Stay tuned for Harvey Birdman in 4 minutes"). This one aired right after "Home Movies" concluded.
15. "Adult Swim Action" weeknight promo (Featuring "Reign The Conqueror", "Cowboy Bebop", "Trigun" and "Lupin the Third").
16. Another "black and white card" bumper (mid-commercial bumper - Adult Swim explaining why they transitioned to this format of bumpers)
17. "National Security" movie commercial ("Buy it Tuesday on DVD!")
18. 1-800-CALL-ATT commercial (featuring Carrot Top)
19. Powerade commercial ("Matrix Reloaded" tie-in commercial).
20. Mountain Dew commercial ("Hulk" tie-in commercial). Ah, the summer of 2003...
21. "The Italian Job" movie promo. There's a cut in the recording right here for some reason, but I reactivated the recording seconds later, just in time for "Harvey Birdman" to start up.
22. Another "black and white card" bumper (this one praising advertising). This aired right after "Harvey Birdman" concluded.
23. "1-800-COLLECT" partial commercial (I hit "pause" again at this point here). I skipped over "Aqua Teen Hunger Force" and started recording again for "Sealab 2021".
24. "Powerade" partial commercial ("Matrix Reloaded" tie-in promo).
25. "Virgin Mobile Phones" commercial
26. "America Online 8.0" commercial
27. Adult Swim "Parental Advisory" bumper
28. Another "black and white card" bumper (this one explaining the editing of certain Adult Swim shows for time length). This aired right before "Sealab 2021" started.
29. Final "black and white card" bumper (this aired right after "Sealab 2021").
30. "1-800-COLLECT" commercial (my recording cuts out here).

This logo turns 20 years old today
This was when Adult Swim switched to the [adult swim] TV logo. I'm surprised they've never changed it honestly, but it became kinda obvious that it had come become engrained in their identity, just like how Toonami switched to Tom and never replaced him, just gave him various upgrades.
This and the current logo are gonna be 20 in a few weeks...

I'm very certain that at the time the network had no intention on keeping the B&W card bumps for very long. However, I'm glad they stuck, they became one of the staples of the whole block.
For 2003-early 2004, this was pretty much all black and white bumps. But looking back at old forums online, I find that people were getting sick of them by mid 2004 and thinking AS style was declining and the B&W bumps writing was lame & jokes were getting old, Then people I guess suggested that AS uses image bumps, and by April & May 2004, that's what they did for half of the block. They still do black & white cards now, but i feel like there's less of them as the years go on.
I do miss the old adult swim water bumps
I mean the network as a whole (CN) is usually associated with B&W checkerboard colours so it also carries on the brand in a way

This is the last time with white on screen bug, they used from 2002 until June 1, 2003? or sort of...
Not sure about the bug but this is one of the last times they used the old logo at 5:01 and they used a Verizon First Aid era and until September I believe then it was fully rebranded
