Hey Anna , little tip for icing, make sure the cake is ice cold, then do a “crumb coat” which is a thin layer of buttercream so u can see crumbs of the cake, then refrigerate it for like 20 minutes, then add more icing and use the smoothing tool to smooth the icing, when it’s not smooth use a off set spatula to add more icing into any gaps u have, then refrigerate it again! Hope this helps, also TH-cam is very helpful for tips 💕💕
Anna seems so much happier when she is with haz and bryon instead of saffron, because with saff she is always getting spoken over with saffs loud voice but when them they always seem so chill

@@kaynaatrashid9926 i think she said that cus whenever she’s with saff she usually kinda just goes with whatever saff says and it dosent looks as genuine imo but when she’s with those in the video she seems more herself and more chill
A couple tips I find that helps me is a turn table. Also pipe the icing onto the cake and then use the flat edge to smooth out. Also to make it so you don’t see the cake you can crumb coat the cake first and then put in fridge for it to set and then ice the cake after. But yours turned out amazing. I love the daisy cake. Your friends group is so sweet ❤️
I would love to see you do this again but make the cakes from scratch 😊 most bakers do chop the top off and put them upside down! Also using a whisk helps to make the cakes airy and light and not so heavy :) and when icing the cakes you need more buttercream as you took too much off! But they look great for a first try! ☺️
Give them a thin layer of icing underneath the main icing almost like a primer, but put them in fridge with thin layer covering them first then the main layer will be more smooth xxx but these are so cute and it’s the thought behind them and to say you have never baked them before I think they are pretty amazing xxxxxxxx
Here is a tip: when you are using the blue spatula thingy, scrape it on the side of the bowl Everytime after smoothing the icing out. That will help make it way smoother☺️
use a icing spatula (or a butterknife to put the icing on the cake) and a cake turn table! also those blue things work but it’s better to have a turn table and you want to barley touch the cake bc you will just pull the icing off! this is so cute, especially the pastel colors!
Something that helps me is using a turntable and also do one layer of icing and freeze it for 10 minutes and do another layer until it looks smooth enough! Ilysm ❤️
My biggest tip for making it smooth is you need to do a crumb coat then leave it in the fridge for 45 mins or so then go in with a thicker layer makes it super smooth ☺️ loved this video so different from ones you’ve posted recently 💗
You actually have a good chance of being a professional baker, I am a baker and you have done an amazing job 🥰💗 there so cute! And you have a steady hand whilst decorating, you should be proud of your self Xx
If you do a crumb coat first (which is a thin layer of icing)and then put the cake in the fridge to harden and then put a thick layer of icing on it makes them super smooth 😊
10:50 tip for next time, cut the piping bag before you fill it with your buttercream, that way you can make sure the nozzle is out and you’ll get a better shape when you pipe! 💙
Little tip when smoothing the icing with the scraper, each time you smooth the icing, scrap the left over icing off the scraper so it’s clean every time and not spreading it back on! Great video xxx
HAHA! That's a spreader not a spatula. She could have just used some paper towels and forgone the greasy fingers. Also she didn't wash those pans before she used them. Yuck!
Tips on icing: 1st layer is the crumb coat, put on a thin layer to make sure you get your second coat smooth. Once you have completed the crumb coat put it in the fridge for half an hour to an hour then do the second layer. Love you girl 😘
To get the buttercream smoother. Place the first layer on when the cake is coming through. Put it in the freezer for 10 mins. This is called the crumb coat. Then place more buttercream on and it should come out smoother. Hope this helps 💕💕 xx
How to get smooth icing: Make sure you add more buttercream than you need. Use a bench scraper (the blue plastic things u used) and press firmly but not too hard A lazy Suzan (or turn table) is very useful for turning it. If there is any gabs or little air pockets add little bits of icing to the gaps and then go over with the bench scraper. Well done and enjoy #shoutout
Just a few tips: I find that if you start of with a thin layer of icing around the cake and put it in the fridge ( this is called a crum coat) and then when you go back to add the icing on again in is smoother and the crum coat locks in the crums. I also find if you remove icing off your scarper as you go it is easier to get smooth. But your cakes look absolutely amazing!
Your videos just keep getting better and better! Can tell you feel really happy and settled at the moment! Keep going girl your smashing life! ❤️ Big love ❤️❤️❤️
to achieve smooth icing you need to do one coat of icing first (crumb coating - you basically lock in the little crumbs), let that set and then apply another coat of icing x
I’m gutted you didn’t put icing in the middle of the cake, and you need to cut a whole in the piping bag before you put the nozzle in. Still look lush though 🥰
Hey Ana, when the cake is cold, crumb coat it and chill it in the fridge for 15 mins, add another layer, put in the fridge and then the icing should be smooth. Make sure to wipe the spatula after every swipe of the icing
Quick tips. Use a completely flat surface instead of a plate it’s easier to get round the whole cake. ALWAYS do more than one layer of icing. The first coat is the crumb coat meaning it’ll never be perfectly smooth. The second or third coat will be perfectly smooth. Love the content x
a tip for the icing is you need to do a crumb coat which locks in the crumbs, it just needs to be thin and then put the cake in the fridge for like 30 mins then do another layer and there should be no crumbs and it should be super smooth

For smoothing do a crumb coat with a very thin layer of icing and a FLAT TOOL such as a palate knife or even a butter knife would do... I love this vibe omg ✨💘✨😝
first you should do is a thin layer of the icing to crumb coat it then do the coloured icing on top after freezing it and you should get it smooth

If you put the plate upside down then stand the cake on the middle it’s easier coz it’s on a little platform and you do t have to work at an angle
To make it more smoother you have to do a layer of icing smooth it out and put it in the fridge and then you have to do another layer xxx
