the mom is seriously hurt. I don't want to say this but please feel lucky that your mom is still alive to make you good food. even if its not good, just swallow it. a mom's effort in making foods for her family members are filled with love. this ''worry'' is not worry after all.
The daughter's point is that you shouldn't feed her kimbab every day at the point where she needs to say something. She is so grateful for her mother but wants to have a little change on her diet.
Your not understanding the point. The girl wants to eat something different other than kimbap that's the worry it's not the problem with the taste
I feel sad for the mother. It's evident that she only loves what she's doing. The part where they showed her "notebook" with quotes in it shows that she's encouraging herself to be better.
i think no one wrong in this case. the mom just so happy bcs making a gimbap. but her daughter just so tired of having gimbap. but she keep make it for them. that's why her daughter try to contact hc. i think the mom need to learn from the other critics. and learn from some chef. i know it's not easy to get a perfect combination of flavour that everyone love. but oneday you can find it. open a restaurant is not about selling the food that you like. but about selling the food that almost everyone like it.

i think they can solve it themselves.. gather your friends, and all those people who tasted the gimbap and be frank about it.. either ways its going to hurt their mom but if its me i'm not going to go on a show just to prove a point but then that's me so i guess you are right :)
Then how about you try to eat kimbab a whole year? I feel bad for the daughter, in my opinion they can't solve the problem themself thats why they came to here. Peace
sometimes it's hard to give opinion to the person you love. you never know they more loving after the show.

I've gone through this. My mom cooked one type of food for almost a whole year and when we talked about it to her she wouldn't listen, saying she likes the dish and stuff. and she would be mad if we eat outside.
I think she is want to cry but can't. When people give a react not good for your dish it must hurt 😅😅

most probably becuz this was the "last solution" for the family. i bet this family discussed alot about the "kimbap issue". if the mother unable to listen , imagine her mother just ignore what the family said and , end up open the kimbap shop wudnt be worst?
The mother really loves her daughter and is super understanding about her obsession. I feel a little bad for her because she put so much time and effort into the kimbab but only got put down. Her quotes were very positive and I hope she isn't too hurt by this

Bringing that gimbap from the restaurant was TOO mean
I feel really sorry for the mom! She was only making food for her daughter that she thought was good. Sure, it may not taste the best, but this should have been a problem easily solved by the daughter telling her mother upfront that she doesn't want to eat kimbap anymore. Sure, she said that her mother doesn't take criticism well, but it looked like the mom was going to cry a lot of the times the camera was on her.
But she did tell her.
This was kinda hard to watch, the mother looks really humiliated and sad, I felt sorry when they made such a huge deal about her cooking. I wish they tried so hard when actual abusers show up in that seat. :p

Finally the first comment I’ve seen that isn’t saying they feel bad for the mother
I recently discovered hello counselor and was watching every episode and fell in love with it, but this is just heartbreaking, I can literally see the pain in the eyes of the mother, she just cooks out of passion and love and all she get is humiliation in national television from her family. I really feel bad for her. I would be delighted to have a mother like her.

I hate that everyone in the comments feel bad for the mom and saying that they shouldn’t discuss it on national tv, but hello counselor is a show for serious concerns, which probably the concern is really bad because they want her to stop but she won’t and won’t listen to her family’s concern
Mochi Milamoon - and this show handles serious concerns very poorly when it comes to psychological issues, alcoholism, spousal abuse and anything that requires real help. Cheesy amareurish entertainment with a lot of sound feedback in comments condemning Korean society as narrow-minded. 'Serious problems' include beautiful children with two different eye colors, a streak of white hair, odd voice, etc - all accepted as family's burden. Great way to Hallyu? Not so much here.

ok first. some koreans dont mind to tell about their family issues. about this case, the mom loves her daughter. but the daughter just dont like eating the same dish 1 year and it doesnt have any good taste. so the daughter wants to stop her mom to feed her those. shes not embarassing her mom, shes preventing her mom from doing what she shouldnt do.

Awww the mother just made it with love. If she worked on it and had a few people test it then over time she could get good enough to open a restaurant. And by people test it I mean strangers...not her family because they'll feel the need to say it's good when they really think it's not.
I understand the daughter but I want her to think in a positive way. because there will be so many people like me who even havent had mom's food. I have mom but we are not living tgt now. Even when I go back home, my mom is too busy to cook for me. I am 18 now but I havent tasted mom's food even once. I understand the daughter but at the same time, i envy her. I don't live with my mom but my dad, he's the cook for the family, but now that he's gone, I have no parents to cook for me. Appreciate your parent, like it or not they still do it cause they love you, if you say stuff like it is something they have to do then they can just throw a bit of scrap food everyday and then their job is done. You can speak up for your liking but for not serious stuff like this then let's keep this within the family. Love your parents

Yeonja was too cruel when someone liked the mom's dish, she eagerly forced him to eat the one from famous restaurant and made him chose again. I felt bad for the mom. They weren't supposed to bring the food from another restaurant to compare, to begin with.

I believe the kimbab were not that bad. I'm Malaysian and I can make good kimbab, and I can eat them all the time. The daughter shouldn't act this way, she can just whine forever and her mom will never bother her anymore with kimbab. It's hard to find an elder woman to have passion on something..

i think i can understand the daughter's concern. when i was middle schooler, my family always eat fried noodle for breakfast. yeah, for the first and second time, i did really enjoyed it. but, if i have to eat that for 2 years, i will fed up. this is not about tasty or not. she has to accept criticize from other people about her food if she want to built gimbap restaurant. if she feels hurt, that's good. what are chef if they can't accept criticize?
