  • @deadvikingtrolls
    @deadvikingtrolls หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Yessir! You have to be at least somewhat into overbuilt knives to acquire the taste to begin with, but if you are then this is the most recommendable price and availability aside. Thick blade, strong tip, immovable lock-up, the clicking and clacking of steel, easily operable with one hand. I call the AD20 the trinity slayer as much as I like Hinderer and Strider.

    It's like an industrial minimalistic utilitarian design, like you said. No bells or whistes. Looks clean and simple. What is the brand, price point, blade steel? It looks pure edc. You know how at the dog show, this knife would be in the working class. I don't know its stats, it's got a great handler. The sounds are spot on, like if someone broke in your room and it was pure dark. All you could hear is the sounds he's made. You'd know exactly what knife the person had. Id carry it. It looks like it wants to work. Pry open things. It looks tough, thick, and a nice lock. I could use this and not freak out if i dropped it. I dunno, I like it.

    I don't like the pocket clip, I prefer deep carry.
    And the price for a plastic handled knife is a stretch for me.
    But I like the action, the clip point blade, and multiple methods of opening.
    So for $200 less, and a deep carry pocket clip...I'd buy one.

    I just got one and I’m trying to warm up to it. I kinda miss having a traditional detent feel on the closing and opening. I still think the reverse liner lock style like spydercos compression lock is still my favorite lock

    • @radusnyder4341
      @radusnyder4341 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Compression lock has a stop pin, it is much stronger than a regular liner lock. But yes, that is my favorite lock too. This knife feels like Cold Steel made a compression lock, haha. Smooth easy opening like a Spyderco and strength like CS. Makes sense as Demko designed the Tri-Ad

  • @regularguyknifechannel5753
    @regularguyknifechannel5753 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Love the AD20, but the scarcity and prices on the secondary will keep them out of most peoples hands. The AD20.5s are also nice but I feel like the smaller size just doesn’t do the “Shark Lock” justice. I think Microtechs “Ram Lock” does “fidget” better, is far cheaper and much easier to get ahold of. The Flytanium “Arcade” is also a good choice if you have to have a “Shark Lock”. I’d still trade one of my kid’s souls for a decent priced AD20 as it’s still on my “Unicorn list”.

      No shade, I do like some Spydercos but many of them look kind of alien.

      @@helterskelter156 My AD20 is well used because of all my knives it's the one I use most. The appeal of the AD20 is that it's a brute and stands up to use and abuse that something like a TRM Atom or a Benchmade Bugout couldn't. Is the AD20 the thinnest, most slicey knife? No. Does material render in two when you press the AD20 into it? Yes.
      The AD20 will still be around when your smaller knife can't cut anymore.

      Springs rly rly don’t break like ppl think they do, a spring will always bend more than it I’ll break and in a springs case it only gets longer. Repeated compression and decompression are what will wear one out but it’s in the tens of thousands on repitions for that to occur. Hope that helped have faith in good springs they will not fail you. You’d be better off worrying abt detents or other parts first before a spring
