OMG that was the most touching part, where she said she'd watch his show all those years. How heart rending, to think she could see him but he couldn't help her. And now she's sitting on the set! That is just crazy!

I hope Amanda tells her daughter she is a special gift from God and that God sent her to bring much needed joy and hope in a really bad situation. Her presence not only gave the girls a "distraction" and some joy, but changed HIM somewhat so that he was perhaps a bit less callous and abusive than he had been before. She may have actually saved their lives! (By the grace of God!)

I read both the books and you could tell there was tension. the way I understood, there was one time they were all stuck in the basement and they talked and made jokes and I think they talked about trying to escape. well Castro yelled and beat Ashley because "Michelle told me your plan!" which was a lie , he made up lies to get them to either confess or whatever. he basically turned them against each other is what I got from it. it's really sad.
+Spider21x ok bare with me on this story because it's been a good minute since I did read them. but when they were all in the basement and told not to talk they did. and they told each other they would work with each other. when Castro confronted Ashley (only her) she felt betrayed by Michelle. because Castro told her "Michelle told me about your plan and it was your idea". I think that's why Ashley didn't like her much but michelle did envy her. she put up with the worst and i think had 8 ir 9 miscarriages. there was also a time where he even got her a newer (but used) bed and gave it to Ashley because she needed it..oh and he took her tv away to give to Ashley and ended up giving michelle a really shitty one
Seems like it has been unbearable for them to be together isnt it? It would have looked much better if they had interviewed together and conveyed together what they went through. Their personal incompatibility must be overbearing for it to overpower a proper interview for the sake of the truth and for the people at large.
When Amanda's mother died.. she was free to go straight to where her daughter was, to know that she was alive. So she knows. When it's Amanda's time to leave the earth , her mother will be waiting for her with open arms.

All three of these girls have taught us that we can overcome anything and not to give up. It's truly amazing to see how they kept themselves mentally busy and occupied themselves with positive things and created a "safe" world just to survive on a daily basis. These three beautiful ladies are true living warriors!
What about Michelle? Why do they always leave Michelle out? She got it worst because she wasn't as pretty and has a learning disability! They separate themselves from her. I don't understand why they don't include Michelle.
Gina still looks very mistrusting of men. It's hardly surprising. Three incredibly courageous and inspirational young women, who showed a level of bravery that was way beyond their years. I hope they can continue to heal, and move forward.

Don't know if I would go the extreme but I know Amanda wants to wait awhile til she is old enough to understand all of it. She always said she wants to be the one to tell her which they should of concealed her name like Jaycee Duggard did with her two kids. People who are outraged that the third woman isn't there and isn't buddy buddy with the other two don't understand what it is to be victimized on a daily basis over a long period of time. Michelle knight (the girl not in this video) was not able to be around these two girls, thus not close or bonded with them.
Very complicated. Castro kept Michelle separated from Amanda and Gina most of the time until the last few years. He drove a wedge between them by putting 2 against 1 a lot. They'll continue to be traumatized for years. Healing is a process. You can tell Amanda is very emotionally fragile and Gina is basically numb.

As for why they don't talk much to each other I can understand that. What do we do when we meet with friends especially during reunions? You discuss good times, not the bad. What memories do these women have to talk about? Nightmares, that's it. Nothing really happy. They only knew each other through that hell and never knew each other before all that, no positive memories before that. If I was asked to see them a year later if I spent 10 years of hell with them, I'd have mixed emotions on that. On one hand they share an unbreakable bond, but it's a rather unpleasant bond. I imagine seeing each other may be awkward.
it is sad that all 3 are not close. i am glad the are all happy and doing good. i know it has to be hard for Amanda at times with that little girl but she is what kept them all good and help them free. keep your head high. and keep smileing

Apparently her and Amanda were never close. Ariel really tried to keep those two hating each other. To where Castro allowed Amanda to keep her baby but not Michelle. Also too Michelle did tell all interviews almost from the very beginning. Which I get she is on her own and doesn't have family to help her she needed money. But, with doing this she pretty much sold her story and theirs too before Amanda and Gina were ready and I think without making sure it was ok with them. So that's why there is tension between the three. Gina was very hurt by Michelle telling details about Gina's story so that's why they are not talking to her anymore. While in captivity Gina and Amanda didn't get along at all. Too they only really see each other for interviews but besides that they do not have much contact with each other

It was unethical for Michelle to sell her story without giving a share to Amanda and Gina. They didnt need a share but it was unprofessional and selfish of Michelle to do that regardless.
Yes yes yes Well, Kaykay is telling the truth. Otherwise, why would they sideline Michelle. Stop belittling Kaykay's comments. Yes, I have seen Gina feel the most uncomfortable in sharing her story. Now if Michelle spills the beans, then Gina for sure is not going to like it. There should be truth in all this. Michelle is said to have low IQ by her mother so it is understandable that she didnt care about Gina's feelings and told her story to the whole world along with hers. Michelle was OK with telling her story but she ASSUMED Gina would not mind. Well, she paid the price.
Not everyone wants to be in the limelight. And being forced into a terrible situation doesn't always make you feel close - sometimes you just want to move on. Or sometimes it's just upsetting to be around someone who is connected to terrible memories. They all say they wish each other well, and they all seem to be healing in their own ways.
Such a shame they fell out with with Michelle, hope they can be united again. Gina soul & spirit seems so noticeably traumatized and silenced by it all, bless her. All three ladies deserve the best.
For all those who are asking why Michelle Knight never appears with Amanda and Gina in interviews: I read an interview where Michelle said it is she who chooses not to be in touch with Amanda and Gina. It is just her way of moving on.
God bless them all. I just wish to God that it could turn out this well not only for every kidnap/torture victim, but also for any victim of abuse. But at least there are some miracles and some people do survive this kind of thing and come out on top. If only it could be like that for all the victims out there.
Everyone who's commenting where's Michelle and they don't give her any credit. You guys don't know Michelle you guys don't know Amanda and Gina , I do there's a lot of untold things in that house .. And unless you've heard it you would never understand why they don't do things with Michelle .
These two didnt treat her wrong; they just didnt get along especially Amanda and Michelle. Michelle started talking right away after rescue and that included stories of Gina and Amanda and these two girls were not ready to talk to the media yet. Michelle is also a bit mentally slow as per her mother and this may be why she didnt think it was wrong to tell their stories without their permission. It is because of these reasons that they separated. I think Michelle was very unprofessional in this regards.
Jodi Hammond-clark I didnt say she is mentally slow; if I recall, her mother does say she has some sort of a mental condition that most likely prevents her from perceiving things correctly... That could also come in the way of forming natural friendships..So while we feel like Amanda and Gina have ditched Michelle, it might not be the case. She might have been fully responsible for the separation and they have put a dignified silence in this matter.
If Michelle had family that cared about her & was looking for her like Amanda & Gina's family then she might would have waited to tell her story. Since she didn't have that she felt like she had the right to be heard
I have thought about this as well. And they must have gotten opportunities to team up and fight him. He had a gun though. They could have planned this out by making sure his gun was not with him, and they had some kind of weapon to hit his head with. Even kick him in the groin. Do anything you can think of to do to get out of the situation as many times as it takes to finally get out and be free.
I wished they never got out. I wish I was that man. to be able to experience sexual pleasure nonstop whenever I wanted on a daily basis nonstop for 10 years straight. If I was him I would of made the basement secure and soundproof with a finger print scanner or passcode lock so no-one would ever get out but me! God created woman for our sexual pleasure. Men have needs and those needs need to be taken care of anyway possible. god designed us this was it is natural and basic instinct.
They look really good. It is unfortunate that all three of them don't all get along. But, what I have heard is that they were upset that Michelle sold their story so soon and without them when they weren't ready to. I keep reading that Michelle "sold" their story. Are you meaning that they are angry they didn't do it first to see how much money they could make? Someone above stated it's Michelle's story as well. And that's true. While it was necessary to perhaps share some things about the other 2 girls, I cannot remember one time that she dwelled on either one. She seemed the most close to Gina. When Michelle said that Amanda was his "favorite", it was true based upon Michelle's viewpoint. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that while one is being beaten, threatened mercilessly, etc and the other one is being given better treatment. Michelle was treated most horribly by this guy. I think the whole ostracizing Michelle is ridiculous. They don't have to speak of it at all if that is what they wished. As you can see, they didn't take that path. Each girl had similarities in their treatment and differences so each one has their own story to tell. I don't think it's bad that Michelle was given some financial support via donations. She's older, has learning difficulties, & lost her son.
It is sad how Gina was kidnapped at 14. she never learned to hone her skill in making conversation. She answers with a yes, nods her head, or with small words. Her mentality is still premature. I want to hear so much from them but am always short of answer.
It's weird that Amanda never mentioned that Michelle delivered her baby girl and brought the baby back to life... That's just really strange to me... That they just straight up estranged her like that.
That made me angry. I'm sure Ariel put them through psychological stuff between each other to make them hate each other...but Michelle delivered the baby. It was more than just holding hands. Michelle would have also been hurt/killed if the baby didn't make it.
That is what pissed me off when I read their book. In Michelle's book, she gave them both thanks/credit for keeping her alive all them years. In the other book, they act as if Michelle never existed. She is the reason Amanda's child is alive & she took a lot of beatings for Gina. They didn't even give a "Thank you" which I thought was disrespectful. Despite how they feel about her, they still should have given her credit where credit was due.

The other 2 actually were the ones who decided to not have a relationship with Michelle. I don't remember why, though. But tbh, If I was in any of their positions, I honestly wouldn't want to see any of them. It would be a bad reminder. Having a daughter is one thing, the child Is only half him. But to see the people you were tortured with, I don't think id be able to do it. But that's just me. I do think that they shouldn't have left Michelle out. Idk
Plus, different people cope with trauma in very different ways, and sometimes what different people need to heal is different enough that they can't do it together. It doesn't mean anyone's bad. It doesn't even mean that any of them hate each other or want anything bad to happen to each other. They just need very different things right now, and maybe being together doesn't help them heal.

She had more than one miscarriage. I think it was 4. I think it's fucked up that she was taken away from her son and beaten into multiple miscarriages, but Amanda got to keep her baby. Michelle delivered her baby & risked her life doing so, because as you said, she would've died had something happened to the baby. An they just stopped talking to her like she didn't even matter.

Hunter, The thing is we audience do not know the details. For all I know, they atleast do not get along well. If you read Kaykay's response to 'Salad Ass', you may get more insight. After reading, it seemed like michelle was responsible for the ultimate separation. She just cant go around telling people stories of Gina and Amanda. She should have restricted to her own stories not theirs. Thats selfish.
Shyanne I understand being worked up; initially I felt very odd too. It is normal for us to feel odd never seeing Michelle with these two women. It will be good if they can tolerate each other enough to give atleast one joint interview with all three present. I suppose that interview would be pretty impactful.
It's so awful that Castro died by suicide. A lifetime in prison would have been real suffering for him, and he knew that. In fact, this is one of the reasons why some families ask for life in prison rather than the death penalty.
I agree. Too bad he died; he had a simple getaway of suicide when he should actually have gone through the same ordeal in prison what he had subjected his victims to. I feel a bit outraged that he died and that he didnt suffer much. The prison officials let him die assuming they keep them on surveillance...He should have been alive and suffered tremendously

Why doesn't Gina hardly say anything? She gives these short answers such as "Yea" or "No" and never elaborates. Amanda seems to do all the talking, kind of like her mediator or puppeteer.
Not to be mean but she is more of a slow learner… prior to getting abducted, she was in special ed at the school she attended. So that could be the reason why she doesn't say much
Please remember that this is a very traumatic expereicne. Regardless of whether or not her' iq isn't at the level it should be' does not dismiss what she had to experience.Rape, and especially being held in captivity for numerous year does so much to your psych and mental health

For the people who keep asking about Michelle, I think the Media made it this way and separated them on purpose. Think about it, Amanda and Gina are really pretty, Michelle is not that attractive or have "all american looks." Her being with them is not too "attractive" for the public viewing. Also Michelle doesn't speak that proper. If you listen to Gina and Amanda talk they talk very proper where as Michelle doesn't speak that well in public. She uses broken English, sometimes she speaks like she has a Spanish accent and other times she talks ghetto. In one interview a reporter asked her "How did you past the time when you were tied up in the basement?" She said " A lot of times I was just Pasttenin out." Instead of saying "Passing Out." The Media separated them because Michelle looks doesn't look good next to two pretty women.
That doesn't even sound like the truth LOL...i'm very sad about what happened to all 3 of these girls and i'm happy that they are free and live normal lives, but one thing about me is i'm brutally honest at times, so let's be honest here..the only pretty one to me is Gina. Amanda is okay looking and so is Michelle( and i wish they would get rid of those face peircings).... But yeah I don't think looks had nothing to do with it..i think it was because Amanda and Gina were a lot younger than Michelle when they all went missing that's why those 2 got a lot more attention from people, because they were just kids at the time.

Gina speaks so little in any interview and she doesn't do them alone. She always has Amanda or her mom around to do most of the talking. Polar opposite of Michelle.
I'm not trying to fault her or anything. I think the reason could be that she is dependent on that support just because she has it. Michelle doesn't have family around and Amanda really only has a sister. Her mom passed away and her dad passed away early this year. There is a youtube video of her dad being interviewed out there. In the end Michelle and Amanda will probably adjust better not having people do all their talking.
I don't get why people are so upset at Gina and Amanda because Michelle isn'tt with them. I mean Michelle went on Dr. Phil without them. You can't blame the girls for how Ariel treated them. He provided her with weed when she requested and she smoked almost everyday they lived for free and whatever they asked for he did his best to try and provide they just had to do their duty on command when he needed to get his RELEASE.

Gina was in special needs classes before she was abducted so it's safe to say she is a slow learner. Being abducted at such a young age of 14 did not help either she didn't get a chance to learn properly. I think they are both doing a fantastic job at speaking about such a difficult decade of their lives. True survivors.
read their book, gina said she was always the shy one in her family. she was never comfortable around alot of people. also he kidnapped her when she was in the 7th grade, her mom mentioned in the missing persons report she has the mind of a 9 year old. the only reason shes there is because the public wants to hear her side of the story.
Too bad he died this way. It may have been far more gratifying if he were alive, suffering and humiliated in the prison. Suicide by hanging- one looses consciousness in 20 seconds or less after hanging- dont know if this is the worst way to die. He put the girls through so much for a decade! and then what he got was a simple getaway of suicide. Too bad.

I hope Amanda tells her daughter she is a special gift from God and that God sent her to bring much needed joy and hope in a really bad situation. Her presence not only gave the girls a "distraction" and some joy, but changed HIM somewhat so that he was perhaps a bit less callous and abusive than he had been before. She may have actually saved their lives! (By the grace of God!)

I read both the books and you could tell there was tension. the way I understood, there was one time they were all stuck in the basement and they talked and made jokes and I think they talked about trying to escape. well Castro yelled and beat Ashley because "Michelle told me your plan!" which was a lie , he made up lies to get them to either confess or whatever. he basically turned them against each other is what I got from it. it's really sad.
+Spider21x ok bare with me on this story because it's been a good minute since I did read them. but when they were all in the basement and told not to talk they did. and they told each other they would work with each other. when Castro confronted Ashley (only her) she felt betrayed by Michelle. because Castro told her "Michelle told me about your plan and it was your idea". I think that's why Ashley didn't like her much but michelle did envy her. she put up with the worst and i think had 8 ir 9 miscarriages. there was also a time where he even got her a newer (but used) bed and gave it to Ashley because she needed it..oh and he took her tv away to give to Ashley and ended up giving michelle a really shitty one
Seems like it has been unbearable for them to be together isnt it? It would have looked much better if they had interviewed together and conveyed together what they went through. Their personal incompatibility must be overbearing for it to overpower a proper interview for the sake of the truth and for the people at large.

It's truly amazing to see how they kept themselves mentally busy and occupied themselves with positive things and created a "safe" world just to survive on a daily basis. Michelle knight (the girl not in this video) was not able to be around these two girls, thus not close or bonded with them.

Very complicated. Castro kept Michelle separated from Amanda and Gina most of the time until the last few years. He drove a wedge between them by putting 2 against 1 a lot. They'll continue to be traumatized for years. Healing is a process. You can tell Amanda is very emotionally fragile and Gina is basically numb.

I've read both book and Michelle has publicly said seeing those girls is to hard and bring back to many memories.
As for why they don't talk much to each other I can understand that. What do we do when we meet with friends especially during reunions? You discuss good times, not the bad. What memories do these women have to talk about? Nightmares, that's it. Nothing really happy. They only knew each other through that hell and never knew each other before all that, no positive memories before that. If I was asked to see them a year later if I spent 10 years of hell with them, I'd have mixed emotions on that. On one hand they share an unbreakable bond, but it's a rather unpleasant bond. I imagine seeing each other may be awkward.
it is sad that all 3 are not close. i am glad the are all happy and doing good. i know it has to be hard for Amanda at times with that little girl but she is what kept them all good and help them free. keep your head high. and keep smileing

Apparently her and Amanda were never close. Ariel really tried to keep those two hating each other. To where Castro allowed Amanda to keep her baby but not Michelle. Also too Michelle did tell all interviews almost from the very beginning. Which I get she is on her own and doesn't have family to help her she needed money. But, with doing this she pretty much sold her story and theirs too before Amanda and Gina were ready and I think without making sure it was ok with them. So that's why there is tension between the three. Gina was very hurt by Michelle telling details about Gina's story so that's why they are not talking to her anymore. While in captivity Gina and Amanda didn't get along at all. Too they only really see each other for interviews but besides that they do not have much contact with each other

Now if Michelle spills the beans, then Gina for sure is not going to like it. There should be truth in all this. Michelle is said to have low IQ by her mother so it is understandable that she didnt care about Gina's feelings and told her story to the whole world along with hers. Not everyone wants to be in the limelight. And being forced into a terrible situation doesn't always make you feel close - sometimes you just want to move on. Or sometimes it's just upsetting to be around someone who is connected to terrible memories. They all say they wish each other well, and they all seem to be healing in their own ways.

God bless them all. I just wish to God that it could turn out this well not only for every kidnap/torture victim, but also for any victim of abuse. But at least there are some miracles and some people do survive this kind of thing and come out on top. If only it could be like that for all the victims out there.

These two didnt treat her wrong; they just didnt get along especially Amanda and Michelle. Michelle started talking right away after rescue and that included stories of Gina and Amanda and these two girls were not ready to talk to the media yet. Michelle is also a bit mentally slow as per her mother and this may be why she didnt think it was wrong to tell their stories without their permission. It is because of these reasons that they separated. I think Michelle was very unprofessional in this regards.

Jodi Hammond-clark I didnt say she is mentally slow; if I recall, her mother does say she has some sort of a mental condition that most likely prevents her from perceiving things correctly... That could also come in the way of forming natural friendships..So while we feel like Amanda and Gina have ditched Michelle, it might not be the case. She might have been fully responsible for the separation and they have put a dignified silence in this matter.
If Michelle had family that cared about her & was looking for her like Amanda & Gina's family then she might would have waited to tell her story. Since she didn't have that she felt like she had the right to be heard

I have thought about this as well. And they must have gotten opportunities to team up and fight him. He had a gun though. They could have planned this out by making sure his gun was not with him, and they had some kind of weapon to hit his head with. Even kick him in the groin. Do anything you can think of to do to get out of the situation as many times as it takes to finally get out and be free.
I wished they never got out. I wish I was that man. to be able to experience sexual pleasure nonstop whenever I wanted on a daily basis nonstop for 10 years straight. If I was him I would of made the basement secure and soundproof with a finger print scanner or passcode lock so no-one would ever get out but me! God created woman for our sexual pleasure. But, what I have heard is that they were upset that Michelle sold their story so soon and without them when they weren't ready to. I keep reading that Michelle "sold" their story. Are you meaning that they are angry they didn't do it first to see how much money they could make? Someone above stated it's Michelle's story as well. And that's true. While it was necessary to perhaps share some things about the other 2 girls, I cannot remember one time that she dwelled on either one. She seemed the most close to Gina. When Michelle said that Amanda was his "favorite", it was true based upon Michelle's viewpoint. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that while one is being beaten, threatened mercilessly, etc and the other one is being given better treatment. Michelle was treated most horribly by this guy. I think the whole ostracizing Michelle is ridiculous. They don't have to speak of it at all if that is what they wished. As you can see, they didn't take that path. Each girl had similarities in their treatment and differences so each one has their own story to tell. I don't think it's bad that Michelle was given some financial support via donations. She's older, has learning difficulties, & lost her son.
It is sad how Gina was kidnapped at 14. she never learned to hone her skill in making conversation. She answers with a yes, nods her head, or with small words. Her mentality is still premature. I want to hear so much from them but am always short of answer.
It's weird that Amanda never mentioned that Michelle delivered her baby girl and brought the baby back to life... That's just really strange to me... That they just straight up estranged her like that.
That made me angry. I'm sure Ariel put them through psychological stuff between each other to make them hate each other...but Michelle delivered the baby. It was more than just holding hands. Michelle would have also been hurt/killed if the baby didn't make it.
That is what pissed me off when I read their book. In Michelle's book, she gave them both thanks/credit for keeping her alive all them years. In the other book, they act as if Michelle never existed. She is the reason Amanda's child is alive & she took a lot of beatings for Gina. They didn't even give a "Thank you" which I thought was disrespectful. Despite how they feel about her, they still should have given her credit where credit was due.

The other 2 actually were the ones who decided to not have a relationship with Michelle. I don't remember why, though. But tbh, If I was in any of their positions, I honestly wouldn't want to see any of them. It would be a bad reminder. Having a daughter is one thing, the child Is only half him. Plus, different people cope with trauma in very different ways, and sometimes what different people need to heal is different enough that they can't do it together. It doesn't mean anyone's bad. It doesn't even mean that any of them hate each other or want anything bad to happen to each other. They just need very different things right now, and maybe being together doesn't help them heal.

My next question is this. In court they usually name off all the charges you are facing. Did they read every one of those 900 charges in court one by one?

She had more than one miscarriage. I think it was 4. I think it's fucked up that she was taken away from her son and beaten into multiple miscarriages, but Amanda got to keep her baby. Michelle delivered her baby & risked her life doing so, because as you said, she would've died had something happened to the baby. An they just stopped talking to her like she didn't even matter.

After reading, it seemed like michelle was responsible for the ultimate separation. She just cant go around telling people stories of Gina and Amanda. She should have restricted to her own stories not theirs. Thats selfish.

Shyanne I understand being worked up; initially I felt very odd too. It is normal for us to feel odd never seeing Michelle with these two women. It will be good if they can tolerate each other enough to give atleast one joint interview with all three present. I suppose that interview would be pretty impactful.
It's so awful that Castro died by suicide. A lifetime in prison would have been real suffering for him, and he knew that. In fact, this is one of the reasons why some families ask for life in prison rather than the death penalty.

I agree. Too bad he died; he had a simple getaway of suicide when he should actually have gone through the same ordeal in prison what he had subjected his victims to. I feel a bit outraged that he died and that he didnt suffer much. The prison officials let him die assuming they keep them on surveillance...He should have been alive and suffered tremendously

Why doesn't Gina hardly say anything? She gives these short answers such as "Yea" or "No" and never elaborates. Amanda seems to do all the talking, kind of like her mediator or puppeteer.

That doesn't even sound like the truth LOL...i'm very sad about what happened to all 3 of these girls and i'm happy that they are free and live normal lives, but one thing about me is i'm brutally honest at times, so let's be honest here..the only pretty one to me is Gina. Amanda is okay looking and so is Michelle( and i wish they would get rid of those face peircings).... But yeah I don't think looks had nothing to do with it..i think it was because Amanda and Gina were a lot younger than Michelle when they all went missing that's why those 2 got a lot more attention from people, because they were just kids at the time.

Gina speaks so little in any interview and she doesn't do them alone. She always has Amanda or her mom around to do most of the talking. Polar opposite of Michelle.

I'm not trying to fault her or anything. I think the reason could be that she is dependent on that support just because she has it. Michelle doesn't have family around and Amanda really only has a sister. Her mom passed away and her dad passed away early this year. There is a youtube video of her dad being interviewed out there. In the end Michelle and Amanda will probably adjust better not having people do all their talking.
I don't get why people are so upset at Gina and Amanda because Michelle isn'tt with them. I mean Michelle went on Dr. Phil without them. You can't blame the girls for how Ariel treated them. He was the monster not Amanda or Gina. people always want to pit women against each other when in reality Michelle has said it's to hard to be around them.

The girls are to blame they went in the car got out went inside his house and walked up to his bedroom. what did they expect to happen. Men have needs those needs need to be taken care of any way possible sometimes the urges are too strong and unbearable. God designed us this way it is natural and basic instinct. Any man would of done the same thing. These girls were just simply not allowed to leave the house. Amanda said in several interviews and even her own book castro was an amazing father who loved his daughter and did his best under the circumstances. When her mother died he hugged and consoled her and she says she needed that and he gave her that! He provided her with weed when she requested and she smoked almost everyday they lived for free and whatever they asked for he did his best to try and provide they just had to do their duty on command when he needed to get his RELEASE.

On the contrary, I feel we as audience are being judgemental about Amanda and Gina for they not getting along with Michelle. If someone doesnot get along with another, why dont we just leave them at that and sympathize with all three for what they went through. Poor Amanda lost her mother when her mother would have been a great support for her had she been alive. Another tragedy Amanda had to go through. But I hardly see people sympathizing with Amanda on that regards. They seem to be judging harsly on these two girls for they seem to have "teamed up" and ignore Michelle. They are also maintaining a commendable dignified silence on the matter vs speaking up about Michelle to the media.

Amanda seems more willing to express what's on her mind, where as Gina is only giving one word replies..like she's not even fully ready/comfortable to talk. If she isn't ready to be asked questions then she shouldn't be attending public interviews, if anything that is going to do more harm than good.
Gina was in special needs classes before she was abducted so it's safe to say she is a slow learner. Being abducted at such a young age of 14 did not help either she didn't get a chance to learn properly. I think they are both doing a fantastic job at speaking about such a difficult decade of their lives. True survivors.
read their book, gina said she was always the shy one in her family. she was never comfortable around alot of people. also he kidnapped her when she was in the 7th grade, her mom mentioned in the missing persons report she has the mind of a 9 year old. the only reason shes there is because the public wants to hear her side of the story.

Too bad he died this way. It may have been far more gratifying if he were alive, suffering and humiliated in the prison. Suicide by hanging- one looses consciousness in 20 seconds or less after hanging- dont know if this is the worst way to die. He put the girls through so much for a decade! and then what he got was a simple getaway of suicide. Too bad.
