    I recently checked out your video with mastering with logic stock plugins and it was fantastic. I checked out this video today and took the plunge on getting 9 Advanced, threw a rough track (that I still need to do a lot more tracking and mixing on) just to play around with Ozone. Holy crap. First time after years of trying that I've been able to get a big sound with competitive loudness that I've been looking for! I just plugged in a reference track of a similar genre and I'm finding that in a totally backwards way, reverse engineering this is allowing me to think about my mix a bit more before it's actually ready for this plugin. I can't thank you enough for these videos. I'm a musician that's usually on the road and thanks to the pandemic, I've been missing the stage a lot and stuck at home, using the time to learn how to make my own songs sound the way I hear them in my head. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and making the last year a little less shitty!

    I had Ozone 9 Standard and earlier this wk, upgraded to Advanced. Just paid the difference in the price, $200. ONE thing I think Sean failed to mention on the Rebalance module. I believe that you can only do ONE of the three options. And I HOPE that at a later date, Izotope figures out a way to do all three. I watched another YT video on this product the other day, and that presenter said only ONE can be used. Can't add a 2nd Advanced plugin either, so hopefully when I use it for the first time, this afternoon!!!!, I will just have to select the one of the three that needs adjusting the most! It is however, a super duper mastering device, all in all. OH...a thought.....maybe if you need to increase the vocal and decrease the bass or drums, you can do it with the Low End Focus section. I will try that out today.

    Bro, thanks for the video... have a question. During widening your correlation meter peak was going below zero. Doesn't it bother you? Isn't it an indication of BN phase issue?

    • @SeanDivine
      @SeanDivine  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      phase correlation metering is not going to be above 0 throughout most mixes unless you have no stereo information - not necessarily an issue, as long as you're listening for actual phase issues.

    • @MukeshRathore
      @MukeshRathore 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SeanDivine Thanks for reply and Happy New Year 😊
      I'm not too sure but ihv heard if a track has phase issue and played on speakers then bass frequencies will suffer.

    Great tutorial, thank you! I honestly had no idea about the Vintage Tape at all and just adding it with the settings you had to the track I'm working on gave it that subtle presence I didn't know it was missing, plus you got me actually going into the Dynamic EQ instead of being lazy and just taking their suggestion so thanks for that too haha I'm having trouble getting my song to that absolute max level without obliterating the signal though, and I noticed that the audio file you were mastering had 100% consistent peaks throughout, and while my mix is solid, and doesn't peak all over the place, it isn't completely uniform like that and I'm wondering if that's what might be holding it back? It's EDM so it's pretty imperative that the loudness is competitive and I feel like there's something I'm missing or maybe just not compressing enough in the mixing stage? The keys in the into track (Fire) to this video had like no attack at all but it sounds tremendous and I'm wondering if that is part of the key to a loud&clear master? Thank you again for the info in the video, and if you ever have time to get back to me on this I would greatly appreciate it!

    • @SeanDivine
      @SeanDivine  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hey Riley, glad the video was helpful! the key to a loud and clear master is 1) focus on achieving loudness and dynamics in the mix 2) use mastering to maximize, accentuate and increase the perceived loudness WHILE retaining the dynamics of the mix. Easier said than done but with practice, it's not that complicated 🙌

    The Rebalance feature is very cool, and I can see if you were a mastering engineer... this would be extrememly helpful, due to the fact that you don't have the tracks. However... if you're a home studio person, and you're running Presonus Studio One Advanced... you have a "Project" page which is your built-in mastering plugin. It's a separate module that feeds off of the mixing section. You simply select the wrench icon on the track that you want to adjust, and it loads the individual tracks for you. You can then adjust the problematic track and it auto updates the master within the Project/mastering module. Studio One is an amazing DAW.

    it seems for mastering rebalance you can only do vocals, drums or bass... you can't adjust all 3 in one session. Is this right?

    Listen to some of my music here music.apple.com/us/artist/roger-bonner/492372212 . I personally master all my music. Just about everyone of my songs has been mastered with Izotope Ozone.
