Cool video - thanks for showing off your Clod Buster. That paint job looks great to my eyes! It's also refreshing to hear that I am not the only guy on the planet that cannot paint styrene bodies. Like you, I have tried over and over dating back to my model building days as a kid and I just do not have a knack for it. That is why I am currently looking for a body painter to maybe paint my current project truck, a Tamiya Bull Head. That radio tray does add a little torsional rigidity to the stock plastic chassis. Without it the chassis is a little easier to twist so you might want to add it just for that.
The stock chassis is just temporary. I have an idea for a chassis that I'm going to be making here shortly. But I will most likely put the electronics tray on this week. I don't know what it is about these bodies but I just can't get the hang of painting them. Hope you are having a great holiday weekend!
