Did it for 8 years back in the 80s after being honorably discharged from the Navy. I guess it's that water thing, and my dad also built both so I've always been around water best job I ever had.
I've worked for Marquette for 5 years and am seriously interested in going back to work for this outfit. The money was great, the time on and off the boat were reasonable, and the company treated me well.
Rule #1 on a towboat is to NEVER tick off the cook.If it doesn't result in you getting the burnt stuff IF you are even allowed in her galley, you can & WILL get smaller portions.
@@doughesson 99% of the cooks I never had a problem with but the 1 % I got stuck with and they were worthless and always wanting to want to run the show.
How do you get on with them, I have tried a few times. I am looking for an Engineer's Position, I have 16 years experience and want something different. Does anyone know who to call and talk to? I have tried Marquette and Ingram.
This is a great video. I enjoyed it very much. But I don't think I want to join. Even though I do like river. And people watch your mouths. Don't you people ever learn. Stop swearing! And you use your grammar, people.

Then cooks need to worry about cooking and not worry what every one else is doing. Cook means Cook and not try to be the work Police.
@@Mactheriverrat1 Cop that attitude on a line haul towboat.
I dare you to.
You'll have a miserable hitch.
@@doughesson I don't have to prove anything to anyone and after 32 years on the River I don't have to eat shit anymore from anyone.
