@Russell Turnerwhen it comes to rankings we a 6'7/10, springboks are not consistent but come World cup time springboks are a different animal we 8'9/10. defending the number 1 ranking is the last thing on the Sprinboks mind
Big Vic you legend! Greatest line out master of all time.. what a great captain and leader ! We’ll never forget that cheeky kick and gather try for the boks either, dankie vir die goue jare by die bulle!!!
I was lucky enough to watch all the pool games in 2007 in France as we lived on Jersey in the channel Islands my Wife and I caught the train to Paris and watched as the Boks trashed England 36-0 I think Forrie as you said is still one of the most outstanding rugby players to pull the Bok jersey on!!!!
What a great man and rugby player. It was crazy but I ran into Victor at a hotel in Paris just before the 1st game against England in the 2007 World Cup and did not expect him there and neither recognized him in his civies. The hotel lobby was also dimly lit. He had some problem finding a guest and I made a fool of myself by asking: "Hoekom sukkel die boertjies so?" - pertaining to issue of the guest. Asking if he is going to see the match he smiled and said: "I am actually playing". Go figure! We were greatly rewarded by the massive victory that followed.
One of the greatest Bulls captains of all time, all round great player, used to come in to have his sponsor vehicles serviced at Toits Motors where I worked at the time. Man was massive but such a nice bloke. Greatest Bulls team of all time was captained by this legend. Man I miss that team...
I'm really glad I watched this. Great memories, discounting your arsey win over the beloved Sharkies in the S14 at Kings Park. You rubbed shoulders with some greats.
I read a story of a coach taking over an NFL team and predicting in his first meeting with his players a Super Bowl victory within four years. The players all cheered in response, and he cut them off, saying, "I don't what you're cheering for. I'll have cut 90% of you by that point." He was right about both predictions.
Matfield a class above Bakkies (despite Bakkies' dirty cheating gaining him a lot of fear factor and advantages). Bakkies blows you a kiss plus a cowardly headbutt in the back of the head (while you're lying down) if you don't agree.
What are your greatest ever rugby predictions? Let us know in the comments!
this was really nice!!! getting history from the players view and the relationships

That lock pairing has to be the greatest SA has ever fielded. Any rugby supporter will give Matfield the credit he deserves, a fabulous Lock.
This guy was a beast!
A ware Springbok legende.

Nice hearing from the Springbok legend himself who has graced the rugby field internationally 127 times.
I love this type of content, great work guys
A true Springbok legend.
Victor and Bakkies - my two favourite Springbok players ever - such smart and powerful players.
Victor I like the humble man you are , you were one of the greats we have had .

Victor was the brains, Bakkies was the brawn
"Victor by a country mile". Always hoped that you would captain the bok team and I was blessed to view a few of those games.

The 2007 springboks were pure magic
LEGENDARY
Is it just me, or does he look trim and fit, and ready to go even now? :)
Victor, that BIG win in the Superrugby final with the Bulls was great! PS:I'm not even a Bulls supporter. "wink" Very memorable game
Dunedin in 2008 with Ricky January scoring a legendary try was quite special
Moment I will never forget
It was 2008
@@St_AngusYoung you're correct, I changed it thanks
Fortunate enough to watch rugby in the era of Matfield, Sharpe and Williams
Legend
Magic!
amazing!
That was your vision board right there.
Can't remember the the 2007 rwc finals, i met alot of nice people and then......
2009 victory over the lions in Pretoria 🇿🇦
Lions 2009
No Liions jersey from 2009, suggesting that Paul O’Connell was insufficient manly and/or excessively churlish post-spanking
Um doesn't virtually every coach predict that? It's called setting goals and generating self belief in your players.
Ya but how many of them were right

I’m glad he has two daughters but he must try for a son 😂
