QUICK NOTE: Since people are mentioning it.... For better cinematography, consider flipping the phone so the camera is on the bottom of your camera mount, and raise the camera stand up using some bricks. This will give the illusion that the viewer is *in the set* with the minifig, instead of a weird angled down look throughout the film.
@@jantanguio2447 yes you indeed can but first go into Google and search up guns sound effects then you'll download the sound go into stop motion and go to sounds scroll gown to when it says downloaded and you click the sound and boom
I know all of this, yet here I am. I still use my phone for animating and I really recommend it for any level of brickfilmer. If you know who Jurassic brick productions is, he actually uses a phone and his stuff is AMAZING! thanks rio! God bless
This was a really great video! Although one tip I have is to try flipping your phone the other way so that the camera coming from a straight on, lower angle instead of high angle looking down. It will help it look like the viewer is in the story, not watching over it. It can be a little hard to get invested in a story if you're only watching over it. Just a tip I learned during my time of animating with a phone :)
Okay... This is kinda silly, but throughout the video, all I could think about was that you have pretty hands... Ooof... Seriously, I'm supposed to be watching this for a school project, but all I noticed were your perfectly clean nails...And Now to try and make a passable school project! Yay. So very exciting.
Got to love the voice over/sound effects :D I appreciate the tips and over all content as it really helps in my plans for stop motion animation. Cheers!
Hello I have been watching a lot of these tutorials to help begin my animation career and your video is by far the most helpful. Thank you so much for explaining the stop motion app because I have had it for a while now and have had no idea how to use it so once again thank you.
For me I personally animate with figures such as action figure Spider-Man and instead use figure stands and I use my phone but instead of needing to use tac I use wired earbuds which lets you take pictures without risking pushing the phone messing it up. I do recommend it since it’s very useful.
I love the tricks using headphone as a remote but mine doesnt work on android. So sad. I tried a 3rd party shutter but it only works with the phone camera but not in the stop motion app (purchased app) Any suggestions?
I’m not sure about this, but it might be worth a try. The stop motion studio app might have a microphone setting where you clap instead and it’ll take a picture based on sound. Don’t quote me on it though, I’m not sure if the feature exists in that app. Alternatively, just make sure the phone is completely secure and just be careful touching the screen.
How do you get your lighting to look so good?😆 when I try 3 point lighting it's like my entire set becomes completely engulfed in light. Especially in the stop motion studio app. I've tried some defibrillators, but my lighting can never seem to look like yours. I am also using a Samsung Galaxy S20
Thank you so much man! This video really helped tons! I subscribed. Keep it up! I'll be posting my own stop motion animations on my channel too. Anyways, Thanks again for these wonderful tips!
anyone knows how to make a brickfilm backflip on your phone? Because I know you have to do masking for gimp, but if you do animation in stop motion studio, how do you transfer photos to a computer?
Is it meant to focus when you linger on the farm too king because I just want it to focus all the time but when I play it, it’s so grainy and out of focus
I think I kept casting a shadow on the set. I was using other lights in the room while animating because I was also making this video, so that would explain that. I guess I should have re-shot, eh?
I use the same software you use I have the pro version but I have a problem where if you use the erase feature it makes some frames go black I don't know how to fix it besides deleting them but then that makes my animation look bad does anyone know a fix
If it keeps the camera stable and at an angle you like, try it out! I recommend keeping the camera on your phone at an angle close to the heads of the minifigures so that the camera is in te action instead of looking down onto the scene, if that makes sense.
some professional animators will animate on "twos" (essentially turning a 24 fps clip into a 12 fps one) if that is what you mean. Most ppl on yt just take one pic and adjust the framerate accordingly
I’ve made a video about that for computers, but sadly I don’t know how to do it on phone right now. I’ll add it to my list of things to try though! th-cam.com/video/p0MpjK9wUok/w-d-xo.html
