As much as i loved the Rose Petals it does look absolutely stunning with the steels and caps, car is absolutely perfect to my eyes.
Thanks mate! It's certainly turned out better than expected
Hi Alex. It’s so perfect to see a wonderful original car getting a mint set of original wheels. About 95% of people couldn’t resist the temptation to flash it up with alloys (even original magnesium mini lites) and it just isn’t the same. Your car is just how they were back in the day. It would sit perfectly in a museum!
Yes definitely mate, nice to be different!
Alex I’ve said it before, I think your Mk1 is probably the loveliest example in the UK and I’m sure a lot of other CMD subscribers would agree. Those wheels are the cherry on the top buddy 💪
Thanks Phil!
970 and 1071 cooper s had three and a half inch wide wheels as standard. The1275 s introduced in 1964 had four and a half inch wheels. Rog .
Sorry meant to say your car looks fabulous. Back in the 60s I had a 997 Morris cooper and a 1964 1275 s. .Rog.
Dont it make you cringe when your precious painted wheels are subjected to the dreaded tyre machine? Looks good mate
Those wheels are fantastic! They just look proper on that Car. What a difference wheels and tires make. I bought a Jaguar X Type last year, and the first thing I did was buy new wheels and tires. The wheels on the car were all torn up from hitting curbs. Good job on all of the things You have done on Your minis. They look great.
Thanks Brian, wheels and tyres make a huge difference! Cant beat fresh rubber!
You are amazing! Great job 👍
Lemme see that whaxxxx oillll
Whhhhaxxxxxx oil
Another great video fella, love your attention to detail. If I was a betting man i'd say there may be a wheeler dealers video coming along sooner or later?! (nudge nudge wink wink)!!
Thanks mate, I get way to carried away with the details 😂 WD was brief but good to watch it filmed behind the scenes and meet Mike Brewer
Wasn't sure about getting rid of the rose petals but yup we'll done looks great
2 weeks late to the party fam. Please ring my bell.
Period correct wheels with the generic Blockley tyres to get that 60's appearance looks the part, keep it up
Thanks Nicholas
mine are falken and loving it.. soft and road vibration decreases by 80%
Interesting about the road noise!
Wow! If I'm honest i wasn't too sure the early wheels would suit the car, but I was wrong to say the least. Those mk1 wheels look fantastic and suit the car so well! 👍
Exactly how I felt mate! It's supprised me alot
I just love both your Minis Alex, they are a credit to you. May you enjoy them for many years.
Thanks Stewart!
Very smart Alex, Are the Rose petals going on the on your other Cooper?
Not sure mate, I will probably try them on to see 🤣
The new wheels look beautiful! I love the factory look and you have nailed it Alex! All the best from Brisbane Australia.
Thanks Liam! And Australia!! Wow its crazy how far my videos reach! All the best mate
Looks great. I've got steels on my 65. Spot on.
Good choice!!
Looks awesome m8 loving the colour must admit I do love that mk3
Thanks mate, will try get some more videos up on the mk3
Hi Alex . Haven't sen you for such a long time . Just to sign in and hope all is well . I did see you briefly with a group meeting Classic Car Cave 12 months ago ? Take care my friend .
Those original wheels are absolutely the dogs thingybobs, love them so so much. Quality job. Well worth the hassle. Great job mate! 🙂👍🏻
With my Wolseley Hornet I'm very seriously considering converting the front drums to Cooper S disks, and getting some nice white Cooper S steel rims so they fit.
they look super mint bro..... love it!
Thanks Stu
They look Bob on them Toony 👏👏
Thanks Tony
Alex would you choose Blockleys over Yoko's ? A032r?
The Car and the factory LP 883 wheels are looking great, the Cooper S is sitting lovely - well worth the effort you are putting in - keep up the great videos
Thanks Dave!
Magnificent Alex !!
Thankyou!
Looks very nice Alex
Thanks Mike
The thread on them looks like GoodYear G800! If my memory works right..!
Probably right mate as most tyres in the 60s had the same tread
They had? Didn't know that! Of course they had! Silly me had no clue they all looked the same. No difference between any products from any tiremakers of that era. Nothing more an oldie like me can learn about anything mini on this channel then. And no point helping Mr. Knowitall by answering his questions. Bye! (Unsubscribe..)
@@thatdudeinorange2297 mate shut up.
So much better spot on
Thanks Jon
Saw you on WD! Nice!
Small claim to fame 😂
Top shelf....love it
Thanks David
Nicely done, Sir
Thank you!!
Miiiiiiiiiiiiint!
👍
Beauty!
Thanks Rick
Well worth the effort mate, they look stunning on the car
Certainly worth it mate, original wheels ain't the easiest route as you know but well worth it
Ladies and Gents! Like the intro 👍
Them wheels look class. For me Steelies all day long on a classic mini. 👌
Thanks Paul! Yeah I am a huge fan of steel wheels. All my cars are on them now
It was great to meet you at Himley Hall. You perhaps won't remember me, I was with my Dad and I showed you a photo of my Old English White with Italian Job 3-spots. Your Cooper S looked fantastic there
I sure do! Great to meet you mate thankyou!
I’m also watching from Australia and super jealous of the Blockley tyres. They’re more than double the price at the supplier out here!
Is it cheaper to order from them directly mate
I know that the comments were split fairly equally on the wheels but they do look good now they're done. BTW l was erring towards the others but keep them in case you might want to swap back, repairing a tube and suchlike. 👍👍
Yes they supprised me when I put them on, they do look better in the flesh too what's unusual for youtube as everything looks better on camera
Absolutely stunning mate ! Has to be the best example out there. If that were my garage I’d have a bed in there as well so I could sleep beside the motors at night 😂😂
I keep saying to the misses get me a mattress in the garage 🤣
hi alex beautiful copper s i love the 60s minis love the colour combination and quality of the restoration well done
Thanks Thomas! The 60s minis for me by far the best looking!
Tyres look brilliant, like the G800, another was Dunlop SP 44 holed for studs.
Few people have said that now I'm going to look these up!
They look absolutely fantastic Alex. The rose petals looked good but you can't beat these wheels on such a beautiful classic car.
Thankyou! The original ones certainly work well
Hi Alex, I was going to start this with "I'm lost for words " ..But I found two words Absolutely Stunning .
Thanks Ron
Hi Tooney, great video, the wheels really set the car off, sheer perfection, well done !!!
John from Southport
Thanks John!
Excellent job…
That car is a credit to you and your attention to details, it really does look superb.
Thanks mate! Means alot
Looks wonderful Alex a fine choice mate 👌👍
Thanks mate!
Absolutely love this look....👌
Thanks mate! It's supprising how many people like it
Cars looks the absolute nuts mate, gorgeous car 👌🏼
Thanks mate!
Those wheels really finish it off , looks stunning
Thanks mate
Hi Alex, have to say that the 'S' does look complete with those wheels, as much as I love the rose-petals. You have a stunning example there, well 2 actually!! lol Great stuff 😊
Final piece to the puzzle those wheels! I may rose petal the mk3
@@classicminidetails8887 Oooh-yes! Like the sound of that! I can almost picture it with them on 🤔😊👌
@@andyfry1970 I need more grip in the Mk3 so might be a good upgrade with the A032 tyres 👀
@@classicminidetails8887 Most definitely 👍
Loving the new wheels! They look great
Thanks David
They're definitely the icing on the cake, so pleased that you got them painted as I mentioned previously leaving them powder coated looks quite wrong. Getting rid of the front spacers will greatly reduce the stress on the wheel bearings, another plus. Just one negative comment, sorry. Under the bonnet I know that being modified it's not original but the carbs. etc are all period and blend in, however those rocker box attachments stick out like a sore thumb. Put the originals back on. She looks fantastic.
Thanks Tony, what do you mean by the rocker Box?
@@classicminidetails8887 The cover that you take off to adjust the tappets. You, or someone, has replaced the original special nuts with a type of wing nut. This comment is just my opinion though, you may well disagree.
@@tonycamplin8607 those wing nuts are on my van mate, the Cooper has the proper ones on it 👍
@@classicminidetails8887Oops! sorry I've put my foot in it haven't I?
@@tonycamplin8607 don't worry!
Top job bud looks spot on
Thanks Martin
Nice video Alex, the wheels look great, I'm surprised that you've been to stanford Hall mini show this year, the event hasn't happened yet, I think that you meant Himley 😀😉
Oh god 🤣 I was hoping nobody noticed
@@classicminidetails8887 😅😅🤣🤣
There is something like perfection in originality. Them wheels complete the beautiful picture.
Originality for me is just too appealing! I'm getting carried away
Well done on the intro cos I was one of the pains in the butt who mentioned it 🤣. I knew that car would look the danglies with the proper wheels and tyres on, nowt against the rose petals, lovely wheel but not a patch these, car looks fantastic 👍
I must remember in future 🤣 yeah tbe wheels look epic mate I'm so happy with them
@@classicminidetails8887 They really do and hats off to Blokleys for their remanufacture of the tyres because without the Blockleys name on them you can't tell the difference, I recognised the tread pattern right away.
@@graemew7001 yes totally agree! There's just some things you can't have absolutely as it was but close enough!
@@classicminidetails8887 I think you can still get the original ones but if memory me right they were £95 a corner...... just no lol
The sp sports are 165s only mate I needed 145s for this one. I'm trying to decide what to put on the mk3s wheels or to shove it on the rose petals as they are so much lighter and will be better for performance
