I have been wanting to learn the banjo for yonks now, but I can never find the time, the second the summer holidays role around (in Australia) ima try learning some guitar before moving onto other string instruments, do you think it would be best to learn guitar first or banjo, or does it not matter? (plus, its really impressive that your still replying to comments after a good 12 years or so)

I'd love to play the banjo like that some day. I'm not very good at finger picking even on a guitar so this would be very hard for me to learn lol. I heard the banjo all the time growing up in rural Appalachia, so it reminds me of home and simpler times. I'm currently learning the mountain dulcimer :)
