@@mmhmm9271 The problem of evil is a strawman.

    • @mmhmm9271
      @mmhmm9271 ปีที่แล้ว

@@zephyr-117sdropzone8 I didn't mention the problem of evil - I actually happen to believe that Christians have a fairly compelling way of explaining that, i.e by appealing to free will.
I was instead talking about the problem of gratuitous suffering, which Christians have no compelling theological justification for. An example of the kind of suffering I'm referring to is the one hundred thousand children who die of cancer every year worldwide.
I realise that one can appeal to the Fall of Man as "justification" for such suffering, but that notion is not at all reconcilable with the idea of an omnibenevolent creator. Such a creator would not consign millions of people to short lives filled with gratuitous suffering, on the basis of a "sin" which they had no part in committing. Inherited blame (or intergenerational punishment - whatever you want to call it) is prevalent in North Korea, where children of dissidents are often put in concentration camps alongside their parents. Such a standard of punishment being adopted by the all-loving creator of the universe is a logical contradiction, however, since loving someone is irreconcilable with brutally punishing them for a crime which they did not commit. The presence of gratuitous suffering therefore constitutes conclusive evidence against the existence of the Christian God (not against divinity in general, it must be admitted), but if you have a counterargument I'd genuinely like to hear it. I hope that you can respond with intellectual charity and honesty rather than with scornful ad hominem, the latter of which is far too prevalent on social media platforms these days.

@@musashimiyamoto586 Hello Musashi, as a 71 yo Christian, I was born into a family that went back many generations as members of the Church of England. To answer your comment I will try to explain as briefly as possible why these times are considered perilous to many. As Christians and according to ancient Jewish texts, some of which form part of the Christian Old Testament, we believe that God sent his only begotten son to Earth to save humanity which he had created in his likeness. God's son's name was Jesus. Jesus forms the backbone of Christianity and as Christians we believe he is our salvation from eternal death. This was because so many of God's people were disobedient and were more interested in what Satan had to offer over what God had to offer and he would resort to killing them by sending natural disasters, plagues and other ways to kill those who did not take him seriously. However, in the New Testament of the Christian Bible we see a loving and less wrathful God who promises that all His people who acknowledge Jesus as their saviour, will live for eternity in heaven. The first step towards the wonderful outcome of living in Heaven with our Father God and his son, Lord Jesus was Jesus Birth in Bethlehem nearly 2000 years ago. The second step was, at the age of 30, he began preaching to the people in Judah and other areas of the Middle East about the Kingdom of God At the age of 33 years due to political issues at that time, Jesus was Crucified, died and was buried in a tomb. The next step was 3 days after he was Crucified, that Jesus arose from the dead as an alive Jesus (not a ghost) with the wounds on his hands and feet from the Crucifiction as well as the stripes (scars on his body from being whipped multiple times. Jesus remained on Earth for four weeks with his disciples to teach them to spread the Word of his death and resurrection to as many people as possible so they would know that Jesus' life was sacrificed to save their souls so that they could spend eternity in Heaven with Him, His Father and our loved ones. For 2000 years Jesus' word has been spread throughout the world to as many people as possible. The fourth and final part to Jesus life and purpose is that one day he will return to Earth and take his beloved believers back to heaven. Reading the Bible gives us clues about when the end times of this Earth will occur and it is because many of the prophecies mentioned in the Bible are happening right now on Earth that Christians believe that Christ will return to take us home to the beautiful real Earth God created for his people (all of humanity who acknowledge that God sacrificed his son, Jesus, for his beloved humanity. Blessings to all🙏🌱💗✝️🙏🕊🙏✝️💗🌱

He resigned from the Church of England after it was allowed for a Muslim to stand up in a Cathedral and read a passage from the Quran that explicitly denies the divinity of Christ.
This of course is a manifestation of the syncretic zeitgeist of the age where Jesus is emasculated to a sort of humanitarian social justice warrior and not the messianic figure that has a message that punches you very, very hard in the face.

@@musashimiyamoto586 You're off point here. You are wrong in conceptualising the mesage of the Gospel as one of love without criticism of others or yourself. Corrective Love is just as important as indulgent Love.
It is not a duty of a Christian to go around saying flattering platitudes to please people. Galatians 1:10 St Paul says 'If I wanted to please people I wouldn't be a servant of God'
Jesus says many divisive and harsh things in the four Gospels. For example he curses the fig tree Mark 11 and some at the judgement Matt 25.
It is absolutely permissible for a Christian to anathmetise error and falsehood. And also stand athwart those within Christianity that are lax against standing againstsuch heresy.
If you believe in the Gospel then Islam can only be viewed as a counterfeit revelation. Heretical and to be spoken vehmently against.
There is such a thing as the Apostle's Curse It is apt for those that stand up (or stand-by silently) in a Cathedral and read verses of the Quran that record Angel Gabriel revealing to Mohammed a prophetic vison denying Jesus is the son of God. Christians should not just ignore that out of an obligation of good neighbourliness.
      In Galatians 1:8 it says:
"But even if we or an Angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to that which we have preached, let them be accursed.'

None of them are perfect [just like most of us] but at least they tried to give their best out of that. @Dani As a practicing Catholic I find your comments insulting. Read Jesus’s words written in the Bible by His Apostles. Jesus’s followers are commanded to go out to the whole world baptizing and teaching all that He taught. It’s “Christians” like you that want to sit at home, privately hiding your faith under a basket. Just the exact opposite of what Jesus commanded. The Catholic Faith is to be exclaimed out in the world forever. We are to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, visit prisoners, love our neighbors. DO stuff! Go away and take that Bible you received from the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church and hide in your room! “Not everyone who says Lord, Lord will be saved.” Only those who DO the work of the Lord will be saved.

I am pleased to have stumbled upon this interview with Dr. Ashenden, an eloquent speaker, with a word of truth that people should heed. My grief over the passing of Queen Elizabeth is for the very reason upon which he reflected and has validated my concern. As the world has accelerated in its devolution, especially over these past 2 years, here in the US, a jackal sits in the Whitehouse feigning Christianity while promoting and espousing abhorrent policies that allow babies to be aborted up to birth, criminalizing peaceful protest while encouraging and allowing violent occupation of cities, jeopardizing our safety with open borders, releasing criminals, rewarding sloth, forcing the LGBTQ agenda in many facets, and labeling dissenters as racists to silence freedom of speech. I am so disgusted and would say, " well at least the Queen is still with us", because I felt she was the last vestige of Christianity on the world stage. I would also say, "I fear the day she passes". That day has come and I don't believe Charles will be as great of defender of Christianity as his Mom. She didn't waver in her commitment, because her unswerving faith was the basis for her integrity. The US was founded by Christian men with those same values and that is why this country has been blessed. Even atheists benefit under a Christian led nation. God is calling Christians home. I sure hope he comes soon because I don't want to live in a world without TRUE Christians. RIP Elizabeth 🙏

No, he did not avoid using Scripture, “He who endures to the end shall be saved” Nor should he avoid using Scripture for the Word of God is powerful , more powerful even than a two edged sword ⚔️… (Ephesians) it is our Warfare manual. Jesus IS the Everlasting Word … satanists have a worldly knowledge of The Word of God , and like the devil can quote it. … eg IF You are the Son of God then turn these stones into Bread (Heavenly Manna ) Jesus Replied with the Word. “It is written , thou shalt worship the Lord thy God and Him only shall you serve…Proverbs 15 says “One Word spoken in due season is like apples of gold (hem of his garment ) in pictures of silver.. (Pictures of silver is Refinement , the Silversmith has to keep gradually removing the dross , until the Silversmith can see a clear image , and the Bible says we are made in His final image , if we continue removing the dross from our Iives, the fripperies that once attracted us .) hence he shared “He who endures to the end shall be saved. Even if we in constancy end up hanging on by the hem of his garment .

As much as I love and cherish the memory of Her Majesty the Queen, I would beg to disagree with the title of this video "end of Christendom", whether it pertains to Christendom in the U.K. or elsewhere.
The prophet Isaiah in the Word of God (Bible) was used of God to prophesy these words regarding the Kingdom of Jesus that is Christendom on earth, at least those who are born-again in Christ Jesus:
6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
7 OF THE INCREASE OF HIS GOVERNMENT AND PEACE THERE SHALL BE NO END, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.
Jesus' everlasting kingdom is NOT dependent on any kingdom on Earth because it is an everlasting one with its throne in heaven upon which the Lord Jesus sits.

Also historically and currently there are countries which have an established 'Church'. But arguably none of these would meet the definition of a 'Christian country' in a biblical sense. And to a large extent the same thing applies for the phrase 'Christian Home' or 'Christian Background'. It seems the term 'Christian' has lost it true meaning.
