Good information. What we liked about this island was the fact that it was just a short ferry ride from the main island of Tahiti. Also, we found that renting a car for a day is sufficient.

Did you just do a day trip to Moorea? How was your time on the main island of Tahiti

Don’t forget that airfare costs a fortune, and even more so this season as the Olympics is coming to the main island of Tahiti for the surf events. Once you get to the island, things are not as bad prices wise, but could be more expensive than you’re used to due to the need to be imported🙂.
Also another thing that should have been added is to get yourselves REEF SAFE SUNSCREEN. This is one of the few places in the world where there is still some unbleached, living coral, so do your part to keep it alive for the future. The UV index is incredibly high even on overcast days, so if you have fair skin, you may get a sunburn even with lower SPF sunscreen.

All great comments here! Love the details here.
Great call out about the upcoming Olympics as well as the reef safe sunscreen (many don’t know the difference or why it’s unsafe-great share!)

Do these remote islands get tsunamis or cyclones and floods?

    Any sharks in the area?

@@moa8121 we saw and swam with a bunch of reef sharks. Believe if you want to see other types you’ll need to take a specific tour.
