    Hi Ian
Just finished binge watching /catching up with your content,
Really felt your pain with the broken wagon, really understood how you felt bit your position helped me because ive felt the same due to modelling disasters,
    anyway we move forward,
Im not an O gauge modeller
but just appreciate modelling ( as an old bloke but new to the hobby)
I also wanted to chat about possibly helping you put the despatch into print….
    ( maybe a best of !)
James Hilton has also published his blog and from his comments its not as difficult as you would imagine
He discusses it with George williamson on Georges YT.
    Anyway rambling on here,
Looking forward to the virtual exhibition in Feb.
Thanks for the content and keep up the engaging hard work!
    Regards
    Mark ( UK Chesterfield)

    Dear Ian,
I know that this suggestion may be more hassle to implement, but I think that one way of adding "friction" to the Eimco's tipping arms would be to add rack-and-pinion teeth made out of very small lengths of square plasticard rod arranged like railway sleepers along the length of the curves of the tipping arms and an interlocking set on the bottom of the body (upper box) of your Eimco prototype construction. An alternative to all that "faff" may be adhesive(?) or glued on strips of sandpaper where the above mentioned rack-and-pinion teeth would go, but I don't know if sandpaper on sandpaper would be any less prone to slippage when operating the tipping arms.
    .
As for actually making the arms tip swiftly through the full arc of motion, perhaps think about fishing wire (or similar) running through a tube. The tube being the puppet arm of the Eimco wheelset / bogie. So you would have said wire running from the crossbeam of the tipping arms and then through a pulley wheel to turn it 90 degrees for it to enter and come out of the puppet arm / rod.
    .
I don't know if I've been successful in trying to share visual ideas in written text , but I hope that in any case the above is food for thought and I look forward to your future progress with the Eimco.
    .

Vincent: Thanks for the input. The rack idea was something I was considering at one point, but at the moment I'm rejecting it because of the work involved. I do have some other ideas. So keep an eye on the blog for the next few weeks.
