Because Stan knows firsthand how dangerous supes are to others and possibly themselves. The show gives a realistic depiction of superpowers where it can cause tons of accidents and human infrastructure is not prepared to deal with them. Besides, Compound V is unpredictable and did cause Zoe to become a tentacle monster.
They aren't equivalent to one another, Stan Edgar is smart, but wouldn't you say Butcher is just as smart, or even Frenchie? Sister Sage is literally the smartest person in their universe, her intelligence can't be compared to because that's literally her superpower.

He also transitions constantly between cheerful ceo to ruthless bastard in front of everyone, save the public. Meanwhile, Gus was two distinct personalities. Monster and facade. You would rarely see both in the same scene, to the point where his Los Pollos Persona, almost felt like a genuine aspect of his being.
