nice demo, thank you, i noticed you have a single exhaust pipe going into your muffler! my 1992 325 has dual pipes from manifolds to the back! is yours standard or changed?
@@williamwalters9403 The axle was noisy when I am on speed and I was advised to change the whole axle completely. I did that and the noise stopped but I noticed that my rev has increased when on 120km/hr to 3.5rpm. Any idea pls?
I'm looking at your video because I'm hearing a "dud" in the back when I go on reverse and I know its the dif, do you think its a oil change need to be done? Or do you think its something else?
Go ahead and change the diff fluid, it's cheap and fairly quick to do. If you happen to notice a lot of metal shavings then there's more than likely already more serious damage. When you get in there I would look around for leaks as well.
Please, took my baby brother two years too buy a new window regulator for his defunct window. He doesn't spend money on cars until they break down haha.
Unfortunately there's no consensus on when to change the diff fluid. BMW used to consider it "lifetime", however I change it around every 60,000 miles. There are many who change it as low as every 30,000 miles. A symptom of bad differential oil is 1) whining sound coming from the differential, may increase in volume as the car increases in speed. This comes from a lack of lubrication on the gears as a result of low and/or bad diff fluid.
+E36 Fanatics great video very informative I'm actually in the process of upgrading my differential I own a 94 318i 5 speed manual which came with a 3.45 lsd I'm upgrading to a 4.45 that came out a 93 318is automatic can't wait to start this small project should fun
Your fluid is still pretty damn clean. Its clearly been done before! Surprising! Most diff fluids are brown lol
Good stuff, Im glad to know about the recommended viscosity change in lubricant also, well done !
The car must be level for best draining and Important for correct filling

Is it okay to use that oil for my 316i, just a new bimmer here bro. Thanks
Whats the torque specs on the plugs?
I tried getting the wrench on the 14 hex but it's so tight and a hammer hitting the wrench makes it fall out what did you use to open it first time
You got a pipe? Put the wrench in a pipe if you can't get enough force to break the bolt.
That means i can do this myself. But I discovered that there is a leakage by the side. How do I stop it?
New axle seals

leo hernandez I would absolutely try the change first, and take a look at the driveshaft bushing. Hopefully it's not a bearing
It's your bushings
thats for sure the front diff bushing, mines toast as well and the only bushings i havent replaced are the subframe and the diff
Just use an allen key with a short length of pipe on it, not an Allen socket.
Would this fluif be okay in differential? Valvoline - 773636 SynPower SAE 75W-140 Full Synthetic Gear Oil 1 QT
Yes
Does it solve the problem when I hit some rpms ,usualy 2500 - 3000, it coming whining sounds from rear of the car?..
Your CV's can cause a whining sound as well, I'll be honest though if your diff is making sounds usually there's already been damage done internally.

it is sound little bit like this one..

Ok i try it. Thx for your help, mate.
And which oil do you recommend? 75w-140?
Oh man I hope you tossed that single 323i exhaust and upgraded to a 325 or m3 exhaust

when do you know to change your diff fluid? any symptoms I should look out for?
