25 year Hiab operator, I don't think about Main Boom Down and Secondary Boom Up and Boom Out, I just do it, it happens automatically. That said I would love to try that system to see if it is better or not, but experience has more to do with everything else as well as running the controls, set up, positioning the truck, job site assessment for hazards. Computer controls are great but don't replace experience or common sense.
This puts a weak/less skilled operator on the controls. “Beginner to professional in 2 weeks is absolutely a ridiculous statement even for a hiab rep to make lol. I remember years ago a hiab rep brought a 335k to demo and guaranteed that his 335 would outperform my fassi f330 bet me lunch on it….well we are good that day and he had humble pie. Personally you couldn’t give me a hiab but to each their own.
