I've read so many things on people's blogs throughout the internet saying this man is a false prophet, for self exaltation, false teachings, teaching about eternal hell, etc etc. However my belief after devouring hours upon hours of reading the word I have not heard or seen such a passionate accurate Holy preacher. This man speaks only words out of the book, such a great teacher and a self examining teacher at that. A preacher that can make you question your salt and your salvation will be attacked by the world and this I have come to know. Paul Washer keep on keeping on brother I believe you are as righteous as they come and I have no doubt you will face many difficult trials because the word you spread is truth and you will certainly be attacked by this world and the Evil one. May Gob bless all my brothers and sisters in Christ who read and study the True scripture and word of God! Jesus is Lord!

Nate Dennison Yeah, he is very much reviled in many parts. He doesn't "tickle the ears" of people and he's constantly accused of promoting a work-based faith. Clearly, he doesn't. He does say that a saving faith should show true repentance and real change. Hardly unbiblical but tough to hear. Many would prefer to hear they're saved and job done. They want passive obedience not working out their salvation with "fear and trembling." Modern Christianity puts such a cheap price on that which was paid for us at such a high price. We don't cherish it. It should be as precious to us as out next breath, not a Sunday accessory.

This is a book by A. W. Tozer, he talks about many aspects of preaching in his first chapters, this is chapter ten, The Old Cross and the New.
      www.worldinvisible.com/library/tozer/5j00.0010/5j00.0010.10.htm
      Here is an excerpt:
"The evangelist does not demand abnegation of the old life before a new life can be received. He preaches not contrasts but similarities. He seeks to key into public interest by showing that Christianity makes no unpleasant demands; rather, it offers the same thing the world does, only on a higher level. Whatever the sin-mad world happens to be clamoring after at the moment is cleverly shown to be the very thing the gospel offers, only the religious product is better.
The new cross does not slay the sinner, it redirects him."
If you have time read the whole book, it will definetly be of blessing and insight, it was for me.

But first you need to make sure whether you are The Church. It does no good to warm a pew for twenty years and be cast into the lake of fire. It doesn't help the local church and it certainly doesn't help you. It does help to be in Christ and willing to do His bidding wherever you go, then you will connect with His Church all over the world, in stores, restaurants, libraries, and maybe even churches too.

It was awesome convicting and humbling. I just hope that the preachers realize it was a little confusing to be told on one hand to find a local church and then preach on the other hand that local churches don't exalt Christ or that the preachers should preach the way they should. That is why a lot of us cannot find a good local church.

Thank you for your message Dr. Washer! I am sure many pastors understand you well when listening to your preaching session!! This session is for the audience of pastors to tell them what they really need to do for their flock!! As a former catholic I feel so terribly betrayed by the Roman Catholic church!! Residing in the centre of the politically powerful Roman Catholic church here in Vienna, Austria, the Bible is here not taught Word for Word and the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ is not preached in Spirit and in Truth. I am aware that i have to relocate to England or Ireland which are geographically the closest countries where i find a church where the bible is taught in Spirit and in Truth. GOD is sovereign and in HIS Providence HE guides us as His children.

I don't believe that Paul is blind at all. I believe he can see what others cannot. His passion is commendable and his boldness is refreshing. Sadly most of our churches are just manmade institutions-buildings without any life in them, and only leading more to death. Leaders need to hear these things-some may repent and change their ways; others just don't know; etc. Christians these days lead in sin, have NO discernment, NO fear of God, and that is partially why you see them falling for what they do or simply being ignorant. I attended a hipster seeker-sensitive megachurch for the first 3 years after my conversion until everything there uprooted and changed. I was starving and parched for the Word and solid meat. Other churches I have been to have no love, no charity, no discipline, practice Holy laughter and other strange fire. Etc. He is right. Without true leaders and pastors, the true flock sits under so-called "preaching", starving to death while they feed the carnal. Nobody can live out the Word like that. They think they are the head and they disobey and abuse and do not submit to Jesus. We have to do what He says and we have to want what He wants. Churches here aren't even churches.

I like Paul passion for God! I also see the problem he's addressing about pastors. And I adds priests in it too. One thing I like to remind Paul is that not all Catholic are not holy. I had my conversion 4 yrs now and as I walk with the Lord, I too discerned to see if I pray much and have his laws written in my heart. When the Lord convert me it was back into Catholic Church. And he had brought pastor Paul into my life ever since. I hear people constantly claiming that they're the only church. For me that was never an issue as God was with me and leading me along so I trust him. What I learned from Jesus is stay little, pray and share my life with him much and obey him is my focus! As far as which one is right between Catholic and Christian that's up to God. All I know is I'm a new person now. And everything that I've done wrong in the pass he has taken away all those desires and allows me to have the graces to do everything that's holy. Although I'm far from it! But because I've been enlighten. I no longer wants to go back to my old life anymore. I pray that everyone would receive the graces to know who Jesus is and that their life is change for the better! As Jesus die for all! Please everyone we don't know what Jesus is doing in other people's life so please becareful to what you're saying. You're hurting God and other people like me. When I hear Paul said that he doesn't consider Catholic as a religion. I'm very frustrated when I don't see Holy priests too. But I do know many Catholic are trying to walk closely with Jesus and trying not to hurt Jesus. Why don't we stand together because we've similar path. I can't speak for Protestant, Mormon and Johova witness. I've listened to several Baptist Pastors and according to my experiences with our Lord I do see what they preach aligns to what Jesus had taught me. Paul Washer and Voddie Baucham are great Padtor! Thank you for loving God much gentleman. God bless.

A man in my study group was on suicide watch in a psych ward when a married couple who had been to BSSM for 1 year, brought him the book, The Spernatural Ways of Royalty, by Kris Vallotton. I stood up against the couple, the books author, and Bill Johnson, but was attacked for trying to prtect this man, the most vulnerable of lambs in the flock. It's a mess of misled people who I love but ijust don't know what to do.....so i pray....and i try to rech out to those lost souls who think they are on the narrow path, but I am tired.

Here's how I know he was waging war in the spirit and coming against a strong spirit in that congregation; THERE WAS NO APPLAUSE, AMEN, CHEER or OVATION to what he said concerning commitment to the local church?! They shoulda tore that place up on that one, but they were silent under strong conviction and bound in rigorous chains of silence to the current bondage of church-with-no-strings-attached. Brother Pastor Paul may God enlarge your territory and keep you strong in His service!! In the Name of Jesus🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿

I mean no disrespect, Im Reformed, but I was raised in a Pentecostal church(I still go to it) so Im used to clapping and shouting, but just remember he's preaching to Reformed folk. God bless.

No one can doubt Washer's sincerity and passion.
But - do you not hear the contradiction at the heart of his MAIN point ("Sola Scriptura")?
“Sola Scriptura” is a profoundly circular rationalization. Nowhere in scripture (ironically) are we taught “sola scriptura”! Instead we are taught BY SCRIPTURE that revelation of God comes to us in many ways (e.g. through the heavens - “the heavens declare the glory of God… day to day they pour forth speech” - and another, Romans 1:19 “because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them.”). YES - scripture is profoundly authoritative and inspired of God - but (again) nowhere in scripture are we taught to call the Bible the “Word of God” - this equivocation is dangerous because it takes away from the reality to which scripture is a witness - and that “reality” is above all else Jesus Christ - THE WORD of God! As Jesus said, “You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me, yet you refuse to come to me to have life.” John 5:39-40 ( I highly recommend a neglected book by C.S. Lewis - “Reflections on the Psalms” where he considers the question of what is the “word of God” when it comes to scripture…)
You must not confuse what Washer (or maybe Calvin) has to say ABOUT scripture with what scripture itself actually says. Consequentially the Bible can become almost the 4th member of the Trinity - and no longer a witness pointing us to the real Truth and reality of God - and not merely “ideas” about God. And it leaves us wondering about all those Christians who for 1500 years had no Bible (as such) since it did not exist as a single hard-bound book prior to Gutenberg’s press.
Whenever I hear anyone say, “The Bible says…” red flags go up because what is more likely to follow is what THEY interpret the Bible to MEAN - not what it actually says….
When I was a Calvinist (for over 15 years - and 12 of those as a Presbyterian (PCA) pastor) one of the most precious truths I was taught was, “All Truth is God’s Truth” - A case in point: Acts 17 where Paul quotes twice from Greek philosophers and poets (to assert some very NON-reformed truths, BTW) - i.e. 1. God is not far from any of us - for in Him we (ALL) live and move and have our being - and, 2. We are ALL God’s “offspring” (or, as the NASB puts it, “For we also are His children.”)
From this - one must wonder if the Apostle Paul would have agreed with Washer's condemnation of those who consider "culture" as irrelevant - for here the apostle is obviously building bridges as he uses authoritative voices within the Athenian culture to state the Truth about who God is (near to us all - Father of us all) - and the Gospel that IS Jesus Christ - raised from the dead and appointed as judge of all...

Great message of the truth of the Gospel. I still have questions though...one is on his thought (particularly on leadership). Also, I'm not sure if I understood when he talked about a tattoo - what if I tattooed myself before I became a Christian? Even if I have a tattooed cross. That shouldn't make a difference, would it?

    • @slaveministries

All sins are forgiven for those who are born again of water and spirit. If a person claims to be Christian but he continues to tattoo himself, he is most likely not Christian. Acts 2 ... repent, be baptized and you WILL receive the Holy Spirit. John 14 ...If a man loves me he will keep my words and my Father will love him and we will make our abode in him. Ezekiel 36... I WILL place in you a new heart and my Spirit and you WILL keep my judgements and do them... I just don’t believe a person who is born again could tattoo himself.

I agree with most aspects about inerrancy and sufficiency, but a thing I can't get over is the exclusivity. The Bible references at least over ten other books, just in the Old Testament alone, not to mention all the writings of Paul and the other Apostles of which we don't have. It's weird to me that if those were discovered, they wouldn't be considered for scripture. I can only image what some of those works would include. I mean, shoot, the Bible absolutely would not be the same without Isaiah's writings or John's writings, if either of those were also one of the "lost books." Thoughts?

I wonder what is the opinion of Paul Washer when a person got converted and baptized in a small church where members are reachable and after a period of time , you discover that the pastor never approached to you and asked about your growing in the Lord simply praying for you as a new convert .

Those who are bashing mr Paul Washer here doesn't understand the context of his message here. He in a nutshell tries to speak about the truth that the church is God's, and that we the ministers are just overseers..steward. And from that truth alone we can now have the firm foundation of how to do ministry in church for the Church is God's then it makes sense that we do it by HIS WORD ALONE..and not trying to incorporate man made ways to do ministry..in other words..HIS CHURCH..HIS WORDS..HIS RULES..

sola scriptura. thank you paul. where does it say in the bible that the day of communal, of convocation to worship our creator he has moved to sunday? what day of the week has been declared of him being its lord, his blessed-, set-apart-, sign-of-his-covenant-people- day; the day of the week his covenant people are reminded being set free from slavery; the only day of the week his covenant people are reminded who made heaven and earth, and all that is in them; the only day commanded that was written on stone and now in the heart of his covenant people; the only commandment that has the command to be kept in memory; the only command that can be sinned against and not on any other; the day that symbolizes the eternal rest that still remains in the future? i adjure you paul to be among god's not only believers but covenant people, the elect he has purposed to be the kings and priests of his eternal kingdom. go pray and even fast over leviticus 23. may the lord bless your heart to continue to seek the truth and live by it.
