I heard this song about a year ago and fell in love with it. The images are so...familiar. It actually made my eyes tear up. Q: is the shot at 2:32 the corner of Franklin & Fulton? Where you go through the glass walkway to get the C train?

Hi Annika, Your Video reminded me how much I loved and miss growing up in Brooklyn. I lived in several neighborhoods, Flatbush, Marine Park and Bensonhurst to name a few and I must tell you, You captured the essence of them all! Thank You.One Question, At 3:55 > Is that 26th Avenue between Benson and Bath ?... I lived at 8695 26th Ave for a short time and that looks so familiar!!!

What an excellent song.......well done video, as well. Yes, the images were newer, but there are still traces there of the Brooklyn I knew and loved. I'm only in the Westchester suburbs, but I sometimes feel like I've moved to a whole new world.

Antonio Navarro Jr Please don't feel sorry for me. I am living a great life with a terrific family in the Pacific Northwest. I am surrounded by natural beauty everyday, as opposed to the crowded streets and the never ending insanity of Brooklyn. I have seen people(some very close to me) chewed up and spit out by that place, their lives ending up a complete mess. Just glad it didn't happen to me. I find that when most people say they miss Brooklyn they are talking about their childhood. I wonder how many of those people would choose to live there now as an adult.

Dennis Cark too true, and what is a guy who left in 1978 watching a video on Brooklyn for anyway? How totally ridiculous. Obviously since the 35+ years he left a lot has changed. Brooklyn and NYC was extremely different back then, now it's a great place to live which is why so many NYers are moving into Brooklyn. In fact making a blank hateful statement on a place they know nothing about now is just troll-like. Lame.

Grew up in Bay Ridge in the 1950's I wouldn't change it for the world. THE BEST place ever to grow up. We had it all: Coney Island, Manhattan Beach, hopping the train to the city. always great and always will be for me. anyone who wants to post negative, or about that's it's dirty - go live on a damn farm you hick.

Great Job! Born and raised in Carroll Gardens(we used to say, it was Red Hook. Sounded Tougher).
Moved to Georgia back in the 90's. My son who was born in Queens, thinks he's a Brooklynite. He does know Brooklyn better then me.
We go back every year, at least around Christmas and celebrate the holidays with my family in Brooklyn.
    Miss it a whole lot!
    Thanks for the memories!

Like others here, I left Brooklyn in the mid 70's, lived in Delaware for about 1½ years, then in PA to the present ... but Brooklyn has NEVER left me. I still have family and friends in Brooklyn and in and around the NYC area. I get back to the city as often as I can now. I miss the cultural diversity, the music, and the people.

There is no place like Brooklyn. I grew up downtown Brooklyn in Clinton Hill. l lived on Willoughby in my Noni's brownstone. Pratt Institute tore down blocks of brownstones to build dormitories. We were devastated .We continued to still live in Brooklyn near Coney Island. Brooklyn a subway ride to Manhattan.

Man, I wish Brooklyn was still a place for Brooklynites..... I left Brooklyn after 38 yrs about 3 years ago. Born and raised in Sunset Park, lived there and Bay Ridge my whole life but for a short stint in Manhattan...But a million dollar shit hole for a house no longer made sense to me. Neither did the over crowding, sardine can subway, etc. Yet I still go back to Brooklyn every couple of mnths to visit fam/fiends and just walk the streets. It's missed. Hey Bucks cnty, I live in willow grove!

My friend John sent me the link to this. He's in Florida but he's from Clinton street. I'm from Smith street 28 years ago. I live near Nashville and have been writing songs for a long time. You did a great job on the song. I miss Brooklyn but like you said, there's no changing a Brooklynite. I have this feeling inside that people in other parts of the country will never quite understand how we feel. Maybe it's the idea some of us have that surviving in Brooklyn makes us strong.

Like 55802 I grew up in Brooklyn, Sheepshead Bay to be exact, and living in California reminds me every day of how real Brooklyn is, and how lucky I was to spend my first 3 decades there. Hope you have every success--your song and montage capture the spirit and excite the soul. Next time you're in Greenpoint go to Mug's for a beer, Sikorsky's for great kielbasa, and Bamonte's for great Italian food---fuhgeddaboudit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm sending it to all of my family and friends - and also to the "wannabes", the ones who just got here and "think" they're New Yorkers. They gotta realize that just because they all of a sudden came here to live because it's "cool", they don't know anything about the REAL Brooklyn. Thanks again!

This is great. I was born in Brooklyn, and now live in North Dakota. There is so much I miss. The song is wonderful. You are right (see closing comments). Brooklyn is not a place... it's alive in us where ever we go. Spumoni Gardens rocks! Thanks for making my day ;-)

Cool song, liked it. Grew up in SHB, but when I visited it recently it wasn't anything like it was in my time, Its a different place for someone who left over 50 years ago. Its a Brooklyn for a newer generation, us Rock'n Roller's/ Doo Wop guys had our day.

What possibly can you say about " H O M E " , that doesn't bring a smile to your face while a tear drops from your eye,...Home Sweet Home,...time doesn't change that ! I left the streets of Brooklyn a long time ago,...but I'm coming Home October 2013 !

This is pretty amazing. As a fellow Brooklynite I get emotional seeing it. What's strange is there's a pic that's actually from my block! It's not like it's a famous landmark or anything, so cool (it's at the 2:25 mark). Amazing song

Thank You so much for this video! I am a Bklyn born. I haven't lived there for 25 years but They're right when they say You can take the boy out of Brooklyn but you CAN'T take Brooklyn out of the boy. It brought back alot of good memories.

Grew up in Sheepshead Bay from the age of 5 to my early 30's. What a fantastic trip down memory lane.
Man, I miss a Roll n' Roaster Roast Beef sandwich :-) Nothing quite like it here in San Diego.
Thank you for that video and song.

I teared up when I seen this. Awesome video. I lived in Brooklyn for 27 years before I moved down south two years ago and haven't went back yet. I took some images before I left, if you'd like to use for something, it's cool, let me know.

Super song. Loved it.Great tune and voice. Real professional. Love Brooklyn too.The photos were a top choice. I posted the video on my Facebook page and everyone who moved out of town were moaning with homesickness. Good luck with it.

Thank you for this video. I grew up in Sheepshead Bay, and spent many days with my father watching the boats, and buying fish. I also used to go to Brighton Beach,( Brighton Private) and Coney Island for the Tuesday night fireworks. Joan
