I lived in AK for 14 years. From 21 to 35 and some of the best days of my life. It’s a land like no other. Even as beautiful as Montana, Idaho and Wyoming are, nothing tops AK. This channel should have so many more subscribers!

A suggestion for filming in the darker areas, especially winter and in the cabin at night. Get some bike LED lights that mount on tripods with external batteries.

I'm so glad you guys experienced AK in the winter. I've always said "the snow birds get to see a great part of AK during the summer. But God's gift to those who stay, is the northern lights". Can't wait to get more content this summer! Supposed to be an early one.

Great footage. It’s much like what my brothers and his friends do in Alaska. They did it all: built a cabin in bush area along with a shed, trapped, hunted grizzly, black bear, moose, caribou, dall sheep. Camped, fished, hunted, got cord wood, all of that. It’s what you do when you grow up and live in Alaska. You live the wilderness lifestyle. Nothing better in this world.

After the ordeal and starvation diet of the first Ep, Its nice to see you with a well packed larder. My Dad n I recently got into a rough fishing hut on a river island (spend my inheritance with him whist I can still spend time doin fun stuff with him). Not quite as challenging, but its still a few hours drive, a boat trip, and a muddy quad bike trek. Our direct neighbours out there are great, been living there for 20 years, helped us out with a bunch of things we probably could have managed/figured out ourselves, but local knowledge is invaluable. as is things like a sundown glass of red wine, or a group going out to dragnet some prawn and then have a cook-up. really found a great little community. when your that remote, having that community suddenly becomes so much more than in suburbia.
been loving the vids, many more adventures to come.

It's not much different from buying a house. For me : I found a property I liked; wrote down the MLS info and any additional info about it including the realtor person (and the company the realtor was with) who was representing the seller; went to another realtor company (usually best practice to *_not_* use the same realtor company as the seller); handed them the info and told them, "I want this." After that, your realtor will ask you to give them an _earnest deposit_ (usually a check for something like 2 to 3K dollars that shows that you are "earnest"-ie., you are being serious about your intentions-that will later be taken out of the sale price-ie., you get it "back" by not having to pay that much money from whatever the sell price is; if you don't end up buying it after all for legit reasons, you get the money back directly). After that, your realtor contacts the seller's realtor, and negotiations begin. You get to look at the property, find out any details about it, if there are any easements on it, etc. For land, usually a surveyor will go out to the property to check and mark the boundaries (usually at the seller's expense). You will give them an offer (often you will offer slightly less than asking price, but nothing insulting) and the seller will usually give a counter offer (unless you just agree to what they are asking from the start). Usually it is good to accept the counter-offer (your realtor will give you advice on all this, and do the direct negations for you on your directions). If you are offering paying in full, when it comes to signing over the land into your name, you hand them the check. If you are doing some kind of loan with the bank-I'm not sure on the details, but I think your realtor can help you out on that. Once the paperwork is signed, it has to be registered with the county (the title company doing the signing process with you will do this automatically). Generally, your realtor will guide you through each step and work with you to get your land. After signing, you own land (if it was still 1790s United States, you also would finally be allowed to vote-non-land owners wouldn't get that right for a few decades). You will get a notice in the mail from the county about the registration, probably a short survey, and they will inform you about when you will need to pay property tax for the next year. Prices for land can vary a lot. It can be 500-1000$/acre for some properties, 10s or even 100s of K $/acre for others, so search well. I would say avoid properties overrun by scraggly black spruce trees (usually a sign of boggy ground). Properties with birch and aspen are likely good. When you are first searching for a property you like, use Google Maps set to satellite view to get a better idea of what the property is like.

@@garrisonkelley7053 No problem. I hope it was helpful. If you have any questions, I can try to answer them. One thing I can suggest is that if you think, "I can't do this because of problems X, Y Z, A, B, C," you should ignore that and instead go with, "I will start aiming for the end result, take the first step, and deal with any potential problems *When* they *each* come up." You can usually conquer each problem when you come to them, rather than getting gridlocked worrying about all of them before-hand. Your realtor will usually be a big help here, too-helping you with conquering these things when they happen.

@@busimagen yea xyz is really just money right now. But a man can dream. Worked on a ranch up there for the summer and bought a truck I lived in my truck in Houston AK area by choice for almost 8 months. Work ran slow cause of winter and a lack of connections cause I'm from Texas, "Carpenter/ranch hand", plus I have a family who were in texas. Anyway long story short, learned alot in my failed attempt to move my family there but will try again when finances allow. I just stockpile information until then lol. It's much appreciated.

32:26 O MY WORD... 😯 This is the MOST BREATHTAKING night time-lapse i've EVER seen here on yt !! Wow...
And mega happy to see you guys back! Missed you!
I have been checking up regularly to see if I had missed out on something and here you guys are!
I literally was lucky to be there at your first upload about the cabin of you'll and love the bond you'll have and hopefully you'll still have with the others..
    I miss them too..
But, super happy to see you making this adventure, 10 hours driving and 3 hours extra with a snowmobile... that is no joke, especially when the temps are low!
You got the best out of a week worth!
Another week worthwhile looking back at and the cabin looks fantastic!
You'll made a fine job of her if she's still standing strong 💪
Thanks guys, I really loved watching this (although 1 tip Josh, please get a LED light for filming so we can see inside the cabin when you film, it is sadly too dark 😳 i'm sorry, don't want to be negative, it is positive feedback, it's just dark in wintertime )
Hopefully we'll see you soon again, this was wayyyy too long 😆
I'm going to watch that time-lapse again!! Absolutely A MAZE ING !!
Edit, do I forget the thing I too wanted to say, the cooking of Chef Dash? Jummy!! 👌
And the Art... I wished that I had that in me, I love it!!

I feel like you've all got itch now. The North, be it Alaska, the Yukon, NWT, or Nunavut in Canada gets into you and stays there deep down. The prospectors, and miners, trappers, they all felt it. Any Jack London story is gonna give you that same feeling.
Your content is rad, not like the other stuff that's super edited and doesn't feel as genuine as your Lord of the Cabin series.
Plus you're all pretty funny, I feel like you'd all fit in as locals. Living in the north is almost like being at sea, we get pretty twisted with the humor.

Nice video. I like the new stove and the chimney. I hope in the summer when you all 4 go back up there, you should dig some fighting positions and put a couple of watch towers and eventually fortress wall all around the perimeter. Make it into a military fort 😃😁

I get the feeling that these guys are there to relax and decompress from their service days. Sharing and camaraderie. Not mental paranoia and turmoil.

I Love that American Flag. US Army, 1989-2015. Years of service all, not my life. I am still alive trust me. That American Flag at the cabin is an awesome addition. Ty guys.

Good to see you back. Nice neighbors.
Where are you're 2 other friends that helped build the cabin? Did they pull out of being partners or couldn't make it?

Super nice neighbors. They just couldn’t make the trip. It’s hard to balance 4 separate lives just for the videos if we’re not all able to do full time youtube yet.

I Love this channel ! I always look forward to the next video. Just can't get enough so i go back & rewatch the old videos too. Only thing i don't like is that I can't hit the like button more than 1 time or for every time I rewatch an older vid... As someone else mentioned, what was the process of obtaining the land like? That would be a very interesting video to me. I hope you guys do well enough that you can get up there more often so we can all see more of the adventures. I live out here on the plains of the Midwest. Our winters can be brutal sometimes but rarely do we see the extreme temperatures you do up there. Keep up the great work. This channel is under rated. But the quality of your content will soon change that (imho).
