Some advice for breakfast, pre-scramble your eggs and bag them and then put that bag in a bag before you go out. That way you still got eggs in the morning. I’ve had em crack on me in transport before or freeze. No fun.

What do you mean by “if my 17 yo self could see me now, I was stressed taking the car into town” and now that you had a extremely long journey, in a remote environment. I sometimes have issues going far from home from anxiety, so that resonates with me.. if that’s what you meant. Great video!

When I was younger we used to build huge snow tents up in Michigan and made many rooms and it was always warm, always love it when you guys post a video, Merry Christmas

If build the snow cave with one exit only, that is lower than the rest of the cave, it will definitely be warmer 👍🏻

As an Australian who lives in an area where it rarely gets below 10°c in Winter I admire your sense of adventure and question your sanity 😊 thanks for taking us along on another great Deadmen escapade.

The beauty of the snow cave/quinze is that it will still be 30 inside, even with only one person, when it's -15 outside and huge winds. I did a winter survival class where we practiced making something that's much easier, I forget what it's called but basically you just dig out the trench including excavating the top, which means you don't have to pile up nearly as much snow. Then you lay branches over the top of the trench and then put snow on that so you still end up with a cave, but much much easier to make. I have not yet made one of these or tried it out, but I definitely want to. Huge advantage in the amount of effort it takes to make, and you don't get soaking wet from being inside trying to excavate. Seen your trash bags gave me an idea of having extras and then either filling full of snow or just inflating and pulling that into the doorway to seal it off.
