Don't know anything about this redesign as of yet but the company which is a fleet of International 9000 series trucks bought four ProStar trucks for which three of them blew their engines. The company tried to keep them on the road by having them rebuilt but the same result so now they sit out back in the junk pile. The ProStar series trucks was the worst thing IHC-Navistar ever did. Oh they were comfortable and quiet but they all had junk engines. When the 9000-series trucks blow an engine, simply rebuild it and put it back on the road and it's good for a long time. My '03 9400i Detroit Diesel S-60 12.7L non-egr engine finally gave up it's ghost at 1,012,000 miles. I sent it to Clarke Diesel and had a top to bottom in-frame performed (now at 1,064,000 miles) and it's like a brand new truck all over again ready for another million miles. These new trucks are only good for 500k-600k miles before they die. I'll keep my trusty International 9400i, it's bullet proof. IHC-Navistar need to give up on the ProStar / LT series trucks and return to the 9000 series because it was the best truck they ever produced.
James Barrow haven't had no problems with prostar I drive that the company i drive for assigned me. it has a maxxforce engine but does not use def. maxxforce with def are shitty as hell though. international should had not went away with the Cummins after they hired that dumbass president or CEO that said his engine the maxxforce was better and need start using it instead of using other engines. I rather have my friends truck...1998 international 9900i with eagle package with the original 550hp Cat engine with 18 speed with almost 1.6 million miles on it and the engine hasn't been opened up for anything yet. he does nothing but the routine maintenance to it.
being a trucker I learned the hard way and have been proud I achieved it. The last few years d_o_t in the government change things to make it way too easy for """any moron"" to sit in the seat of a big rig yep they want everybody to be safer that makes a lot of sense
Mexican also made KW and Pet .but we use the materials and seeing the companies bring to as .so any way I'm proud of our job. Prostar it's pretty good truk easi to drive very comfortable nice and biiig sleeper ..and the faults or issue usually are on the computer and DEF system but thos are USA problems cuaz the want as to install the system so it's not a Mexican part here in Mexico transportation companies using prostar no def no paccar only cuminngs and the trucks are making 💰 Mony Mony
