- An idea comes to my mind that it would be interesting to combine different resolution versions of Phoenix's 2D sprites into a video, so here it is! The Evolution of Phoenix's 2D Sprites Resolution!
The video will quickly showcase GBA to PS4/NS/PC versions. Noted that this is only for "2D" sprites evolution, so the DD and SOJ ones didn't included.

@@tuney7319not really, I got into ace attorney recently and even I can admit that I think the pixelated ones have this sort of charm to them that's not the same in the HD
@@tuney7319 Nah, not everything is nostalgia, pixel art is full of charm. Plus, the redraw/hd images of the original trilogy don't look very good (honestly, they look like fanart)

as much as I like the redraw of Phoenix Wright in AJ:AA HD, he just looks out of place with the OG court background, this may just be the result of the fact he was redrawn in the AJ:AA artstyle. I even went ahead found the sprites downscaled them to work in DS resolution and put him onto the DS AJ:AA courtroom to find that he does indeed fit perfectly there.
its more so the colour palette used being pretty muted (like normal apollo justice) contrasting the vibrant og courtroom
The visuals on that flashback have always been all over the place, I mean even in the original AJ:AA release the new characters looked gigantic because their sprites don't fit the old backgrounds

So did the 3DS Trilogy have the HD Sprites also? I thought they looked a little low quality.
Also in the HD Sprites you can see Phoenix's other eye more, but only the fully visible one blinks, and that bothers me

apollo justice sprites always seem a bit… colder than the ones in the trilogy
best version of phoenix is not even in his own game lmao. Apollo Justice HD all the way. but clearly they're making them full 3D now

Unpopular opinion: the newest one looks better than the hd Apollo justice.
The sprites looked a little weird imo in AJ, so yeah I'd have to agree

I think the line art is better for HD Apollo Justice, I don’t really like the pure black lines on AA characters, and I think the expressions are a tad bit better on AJ, but I think the color palette is far superior on the newest HD trilogy sprites so I’m honestly unsure
I like the new Trilogy sprites. I don't like the HD sprites, but the first trilogy sprites look bad and have missing frames, and I don't like the Apollo Justice color palette for the original Trilogy characters.

Ah I remember some year 2001-2019 Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney USA and UK aka Gyakuten Saiban Japanese only that fantastic job.
I had a stroke reading that.
All the subsequent releases retained the improved court background from Gyakuten Saiban 2 and 3.
I only now notice that he's blinking with *one* eye

the hd of mobile port looks the best. why the new pc/switch port look a bit..... too shade-y and the higlights looked too bright.
The new PC/Switch versions are way better. This video doesn't show it but the new versions have the same amount of frames as the original DS version, which the mobile/3DS versions lack

I really don't like the traced look of the HD sprites. Honestly I think a good middle ground, as I saw in this video, was the Apollo Justice HD sprite.
Modern Trilogy is the best, mobile trilogy is the worst.
