Mark, this video and your Road Trip video are needed. I imagine that I am not the only viewer who comes back to watch your videos more than just once. I think that I maybe have my girlfriend sold on the idea of moving out to Newfoundland.
What a great video, Mark. I watched it all last night with my girlfriend (who is new to Canada). The music was super relaxing. The video was perfect. There are no videos like this on TH-cam that pertain to Newfoundland that show so many towns and cities. Thank you for your regular contributions, I know it takes a lot of work. Also, we love your family. Good vibes all around. Your dad seems like a tough but gentle, larger than life Newfoundlander. Thanks for all you share brother. Much love and respect.
Mark , you were instrumental in our planning of our trip to your amazing province in July . We were there for 15 days and it was not even close to being enough time . We must have been extremely lucky to only have 2 days of rain during that time . Cant wait to go back and see more . Thank you .
I have thoroughly enjoyed the past hour. How fortunate are we to live among such beauty! Like you, I grew up adjacent to St. John's and knowing it well. I've heard tourists say, having arrived by ferry to Port Aux Basques, they had spent their time in Newfoundland exploring many smaller towns and communities across the island, enjoying the people and small places, which is a novelty to them. And I get it; it is a wonderful vacation! But then they come to the St. John's area, wanting to go to Cape Spear to say they have visited the most easterly point in Canada (or in North America, excluding Greenland)! If you've come this far east, it makes perfect sense to do that! But they have arrived with only a day or two remaining in their vacation, thinking, "I don't want to see another city. I can see cities anywhere." But having driven through the downtown core and up to Signal Hill, they soon realize that St. John's is not "just another city". It is spectacularly more! Your videos demonstrate that beautifully! Thanks for all of them!
I can always tell when people watch the whole video, and you always drop hints in your comments that you've watched it through to the end (or at least through a good portion), and I really appreciate that. Thanks So much for always coming back Carol ☺️
Inclement weather can be annoying at time, but might as well dress and embrace it...Otis doesn't care one way or another and always great to see the smile on his face when he's out and about! So many wonderful views!!
My pleasure, I mean it. It was so refreshing to see. It's hard to actually gauge how the town is doing from a short visit like this but on top of the nice cars and houses and stuff like that, we talked to a people around the town while we were there, and everyone seemed genuinely happy. Really seems like the place is doing well.
I love your videos! It's so wonderful to see you so happy making videos about your birthplace. Newfoundland also brings me a lot of happiness, and it's actually hard to find good videos about the province, so you keep doing you, there's lots of us who feel the same about you in terms of life values, and Newfoundland. Also. Did I see a "Woolco" hoodie being sported? Great messages throughout this video 👍 the internet is indeed a strange place for negativity, but there is also a lot of positive out there too, like your videos!
@mark_royle_newfoundland lol so it was a "Woolco" sweater! I grew up in a "small" town on Vancouver Island (not small in comparison to NL though hahaha) and have an affinity for the "old-school" stores. But yes I notice the hoodies you wear, they're awesome (the I loves fish and chips one is great, I need one of those!!)
Thank you so much. I'm going to make it to NF someday. I live in Connecticut but listen to VOCM everyday and watch CBC Here and Now everyday. I'm originally from Ireland so probably the the attraction to the place. thank you again and keep making these videos. I am so many others love them.
Watched this with a couple of people. "What do you even see there? There's literally nothing!" But what's nothing to them is the definition of peace for me... In terms of weather, we're tolerating over 40 celsius on a daily basis. I know that grass is always greener on the other side but when it's cold or raining, at least you can dress up. When its an actual oven outside, there's nothing you can do :(
The latest updates say we shouldn't get nailed too hard anymore. Likely lots of rain overnight still but they're saying it's not as strong of a storm as it was. We'll brace for the worst and hope for the best I s'pose!
I don't usually make hour-long videos. If shorter ones are more to your taste, maybe check this one out next: th-cam.com/video/Z2RxqTkfc2M/w-d-xo.html

Soon I'll be coming home. Love from Sweden 😘❤️

Beautifully done as always. Showed this video to my husband and he just kept saying how beautiful Newfoundland is.
Your husband gets no argument from me!

Well said. If I'm being honest, I would take the hot summer weather all year if I could but I have learned to enjoy the not-so-great weather as well.
Thank you for highlighting La Scie! Visited 9 years ago and nice to know the town and the fine folks there thrive!

This is another great presentation. And I certainly appreciate the time you put into the editing, alone. Your drone must be getting trier by now.
Much appreciated buddy! Just wait for what's coming over the next little while!!
Hi Mark. Love your videos. Who sings the song at the start of the video? I really like it?
It’s called “Gold Dust” by To The Valley

That's pretty much it, right? This place isn't for everyone, and that is perfectly fine. But for some people there's no better place on earth.
@@mark_royle_newfoundland Exactly!! I've given up on trying to explain :)
I always say great weather to work in...........can't do shit in the sunny hot days.........you are covering a lot of ground in this one Mark.
Thanks buddy!
i dont if you know but there is big hurricane on its way to your area lol
