Rather a long one today. Although it's 16 minutes long, it actually took me over 40 minutes, replaying sections over again. But I'm glad I got it in the end because it contains beautiful detail to receive.
I’m leaving this here in hopes that Pastor John or SOMEONE can answer this for me because I feel like I’m on the verge of blowing up… I understand at this point sending emails to be answered on Desiring God is practically impossible, but it angers me because I have no peace in my mind or in my soul. How can I be so sure of my salvation, let alone the existence of God when I cannot hear him, and know if I am saved when I am consumed with doubt and confusion? There are moments where I can truly testify and say I believe Christ is Lord of my life as I surrender my life to his will and authority. I have the will to want to love him, but my confusion and the constant reminder that there are “Christians” who walk the walk and talk the talk are supposedly never known by Christ? How can I love Jesus when I fear him? When he seems inconsistent, when it appears that although he doesn’t want people to perish it seems to happen anyway. And me asking all of these questions makes me wonder if I truly know Christ and follow him out of fear or love.
Friend all i can say is this: Either we view our salvation as us having to hold onto Christ, or Christ having to hold onto us. The latter is freeing and leads to assurance; the former leads to disappointment and doubt. God bless and may the Lord grant you peace.
Hold on to Jesus❤🙏🏽, i am convinced, that He is doing something in your life right now🙏🏽. All this confusion, the fear, the doubts, the amount of anger, bitterness and sometimes disbelief.... Trust Him, seek wisdom in prayer. I really relate to this awful feelings, BUT greater is HE that is in YOU, than he that is in the world!!! (1st John 4,4) I'll pray for you, that Jesus may give you wisdom , love and truth❤🙏🏽. Please pray for me, too🙏🏽.
How do you know? You know by doing His Will. Paul commands, let -this mind- be in you (Christ's mind). What is Christ's mind? The mind of servantwood, servantship....the denial of one's self to do the Will of the Father. Therefore the question begs itself, what is the Will of the Father and how do I know I'm doing it. Well I can give you 4, taken from the Bible. Will 1. Receive salvation (baptism in Jesus name, infillment of the Holy Ghost by evidence of speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives utterance) Will 2. Be full of the Holy Ghost, being full means being controlled by, the Holy Ghost is Jesus. Being controlled or convicted by His love and your Love for Him to do as He commands or instructs or teaches or admonishes. Will 3. Grow in the knowledge of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Read the Word of God. Meditate upon Him, pray, fast. Open yourself to learn more about Him daily. This will order your steps in His way. Will 4. Be thankful in EVERYTHING. Otherwise you are ungrateful as the children of Israel. Imagine God provided an opportunity for you to live with Him in eternity and you complain about no food for a day....when you could be thanking Him for saving your soul. Therefore, He commands to be thankful in EVERYTHING. God bless you, I hope you find this.
