Darlington Mansion

“Darlington” nestled in Mahwah, New Jersey is framed by the Ramapo Mountains and the Ramapo River and lies just twenty-five miles from New York City. It is regarded as one of the purest examples of Jacobean architecture ever built in the United States.
Darlington was constructed between 1902 and 1907 by the son of railroad magnate, Charles Crocker. The architect of the mansion was James Brite, who along with his partner, Henry Bacon, also created the original Madison Square Garden, American University in Washington D.C., and the world-famous Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C.
Modeled directly after the historic Bramshill House in Hampshire, England, Darlington is built of “Harvard” brick with extensive use of Indiana limestone. Inside and out, the best materials of the time were used by master craftsmen from America and Italy.

Absolutely beautiful but do people really want to live in such a monstrous house? I think I’d feel lonely living in it. I’d never find my family members unless they were wearing tracking devices.
