    Can you go a little further into the magnetic lock? What brand? Where did you purchase? How did you get it to sync up with the opener remote? Etc.
    I really like that feature and with reading reviews on this particular model, it’s necessary because of how the wind can damage the opener

    It's a good thing you put that mag-lock on there. That solid surface privacy gate has a huge wind load. It's just a big sail. In fact, if you contact Liftmaster Tech support, they will tell you never to use the LA500 on a solid surface gate like that. Even with the mag-lock, as the gate is opening or closing, the wind could catch it and destroy that actuator. None of the actuators of this type should ever be used on a privacy gate like this. There is one, but most not only make the suggestion, but will insist that you do not use that type of actuator.

    • @YouTubeMaster1611
      @YouTubeMaster1611 ปีที่แล้ว

      What do you suggest?

    • @rentaissanceman
      @rentaissanceman ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TH-camMaster1611 Every manufacturer specifies the design load limits of each of their models, typically with a width/weight dimension. What I would suggest is dependent on a couple of factors. I would not only need at least an estimate of the gate's weight, but also of its length. I would also need to know whether the gates will be privacy gates, or with a picket and frame construction. If you would provide me with that information, I will make at least a couple of suggestions.

    I currently have a Linear SW3000XLS series (dual gates). How does this liftmaster compare? Mine will need replacing soon, and I'm not sure if I want to swap out for the identical system, or go with a new brand. My Linear is about 7 years old, and I'm having issues with the secondary arm, and it doesn't make sense to just replace one arm at this point.
    Thanks in advance!
