  • My latest project, with it you can have amazing quality lights and shaders in the viewport.
    don't forget to subscribe as I will upload more videos about this project soon.
    The X-Ray is available as a bundle with MayaX
    cgelementary.g...
    and also as a separate product:
    gumroad.com/a/...
    Music: Calendar project October feverkin.

    just to clarify something for everyone, it is not a render engine or anything like that, it works mostly like UE4 system where you bake light and reflections, but here you have a little more control. you have a layered shader which you can use to achieve different looks, I prefer to show the rest of the things in future videos but I think it's important to know at least this much and don't expect something completely different.

    this is amazing, used to seeing this with gpu renderers but in viewport? mind blown

    Amazing, optimized the support of materials and lights and shadows. If there can be eevee reflection, I will buy it

    This is incredible and deserves much more attention. Maybe you could post this in the Maya subreddit.

    Maaan what the hell this is amazing! You are genius! Why can't Autodesk give us this, we've been waiting for eons!...
    Question, does this mean this has real time reflections? Will you add bloom later on? Volumetric lights? Caustics?
    I didn't know a plugin could hack and improve the render engine this much, congrats.
    Autodesk should pay you handsomely for the work they should have done a long time ago.

    wow, Maya's viewport is very rough with shadows in inverse proportion to the total area and Arnold's material looks really weird in the viewport, which is a real problem, so I'm very curious to see if this is a solution!

    I have bought x-ray. Would you upload tutorials how to use x-ray?

    • @CGElementary

      I'm just finishing the update for adding support for Arnold and V-Ray which will be available soon, after that I will work on video tutorials

    What's the workflow like if I want to go from previewing in viewport to Rendering with redshift materials? Do you have an option to transform all blinn materials to RS materials back and forth or is X-ray limited to Blinn materials for it to work?

  • @JJChalupnik

    2 Questions for the moment:
    Will this have live linking to UE4 or Unity?
    Will this have 1:1 translation to Arnold for final delivery/Production Rendering?
    As for features.... It'd be great to see Bloom, Depth of Field, and other enhancements, in addition to what you are showcasing here. Will it make use of RTX? GI? What are your personal limitations for v.1.0?

    • @CGElementary
      @CGElementary  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      there are many limitation in this version but I'll see what I can do to fix them. it doesn't use rtx and any gpu will work, as for the live link and transition to Arnold, since i'm still working on it, i prefer not to say anything as some things may change, by the time the first version comes out.

      @@CGElementary Ok awesome. Well I've been waiting forever for Autodesk to do this right. As usual it took a brilliant developer to do it first! Bout time Eevee got some competition! Good luck!

    Really would like something like this. But probably wouldn't use it if it didn't translate into render like eevee and cycles

    • @CGElementary
      @CGElementary  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      if you have the MayaX+X-Ray bundle, yes you should have it. but if you only have MayaX then it doesn't have X-Ray

    I've never expected to see such quality from viewport 2.0.
    Is there a release date? or trial?

    • @CGElementary
      @CGElementary  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      no release date at the moment, but I will try to get a version ready for releasing soon, it may lack many features but it will be still useful for many artists
