Thank you Robert. I once heard a priest say "it is my job to make a sermon uncomfortable, to shake people, to challenge people, to the truth of Christ. I am not a social worker, I am a Priest!" I never forgot that. God Bless your work.

There will be a gathering in support of Enoch Burke outside Wilson's Hospital School next Monday 6th January at 1pm, (the Feast of the Epiphany). All are welcome. Thank you Robert. This is the time for the laiety to put their shoulders to the wheel and push for the survival of our Irish faith.

Thanks Robert. I fully agree with you and what you're saying here. We need to be more emboldened and we need to be prepared to stand up and be accounted for.
Thank God our parents led us in the Rosary, straight after dinner each night. I am 70 now and living in Australia, came back to the Rosary after seeing a TH-cam (July )headline to pray a novena, so I decided I would give it a shot,as I was heading off on a trip with my husband to Japan and didn’t expect to be able to attend Mass. well I found a Catholic parish Church in walking distance.❤🙏. The first time in 25 visits. I am keeping it up . Robert you said God can make anyone a saint . In fear and trepidation I am putting my hand 🖐️ up. Prayer Fasting. Holy Communion Confession Pray for me and I for you
I've found Catholic Churches even in the suburbs of Japan. God is truly good, and we ought to pray for the Korean, Philippine and Thai migrants whose presence makes worship possible in such locations.
Robert, thank you for this podcast. It is much appreciated by me. I live in the States, and my ancestry is Italian. However, my six children are a good part of Irish in their ancestry. May Our Lord bless you and Our Lady keep you!
Great video Robert. You covered so much. A message for all including engaged couples is to return to tradition. Tradition, tradition, tradition. It's beautiful. Yes, souls are thirsty for sure. We have to start at ground level, reaching out to the poor and needy.. The power of the Rosary... beginning now this weekend with the first Friday and Saturday devotions. God bless you Robert. Ave Maria! 🙏
I love to hear yourself and Fr Brendan speak up and I know it's not easy but we the people not just in Ireland but the world need people like yourself and Fr Brendan to speak because you give us light. Please can others like yourself stand. Lots of love and thank u x
As my brothers wife mentioned to my sister when she invited her to my niece's first holy communion, " ah don't bother going to the church if you don't want to, it's not important." Her biggest concern was where she was going to have the afters. Very sad.
Thanks Robert for your frank insights into the condition of the Irish church. Jesus is in the process of clearing out the traders to make his church a house of prayer, once again. After all that has surfaced, its not easy for bishops to preach the message that they failed to follow. Keep up the good work and keep us posted.
Enoch Burke is absolutely correct he has the courage of his Christian convictions .hopefully 2025 bishops will find a bit of backbones and simply speak the truth , lacking courage iis Cowardly the total opposite of our savour and redeemer Jesus christ ,pray for holy mother church.
Frank Duff once said that Prudence is a cardinal virtue but it must be the brake rather than the engine, Church leaders have become so prudent that they are almost afraid to preach the Gospel. Christ was not a philosopher given to expressing his opinions in carefully qualified statements. He called people blind guides and hypocrites and drove them out of the Temple for dishonouring his Father's house. Perhaps in 2025 fortitude rather than prudence might become the watchword of the Irish Church.
Fr Brendan is great and I think the Church should allow Catholic Voice to be sold in our Churches again also, they had some good articles and topics that were a little controversial but that’s a good thing I think thanks Robert.
My apologies Robert I was under the impression that due to some differences between the publisher and the Church that they could no longer sell it in Churches but thank you for your response.
The laity needs to rise up as the Body of Christ and demand the changes needed to spread and teach the Faith! As my Irish mother would say, “They’ve got my Irish up”!! Come on Ireland, Get your Irish Up!!
The Bishops should be using their Amazing Gifts of Healing to Help the people, what a WASTE them Hiding away when they could do Such Great Healing and Help a lot of People 🙏✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨And Rebuild the Faith, send them to KNOCK ☘️the Priests Bishops Cardinal to Our Beautiful Blessed Mother 🌹 where She had said She will Restore them🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️Rita England ☘️🙏✨
Love your channel and your commentaries - so spot on every time. Sorry to hear you had to take that 'particular' video down due to the amount of polemics etc. Personally, to hear your point of view was so refreshing. Keep up what you'e doing and HAPPY 2025.
If a teenager presented themselves as having being born with too many legs and cried tears to get a leg off so they could use crutches for life, would a doctor remove it? That's pretty much one of the elements in the E.B. case.
Fear of offending by speaking the truth, but not afraid of starving God's children daily with weak homilies and pointing out God's commandments, which never change.
God bless you Robert you speak the truth from the heart it is time for the church to formally decouple from the state in all ways especially any monetary dependence .The state and its organs hate Christianity and especially the Catholic Church this would be a brave move but it won’t happen renewal will come from the laity? Am I deluded ?
The Church is suffering from the scourge of absent fathers who have abandon her as their spouse leaving the children abandoned and are being led by the false promises of the world to their detriment and disillusionment.
They certainly didn't ram it down your throat, but we knew the basics, and we were all Catholìs together. That's when we were so called poor country but we had no homelessness and everyone had a roof.
In war the generals enter the battlefield and the officers lead the army into battle if the generals desert the battlefield and the officers refuse to attack the enemy then the army will desert the ranks and return home and killed for desertion or captured and tortured by the enemy and converting to the enemy And we are seeing this in the Catholic Church no generals and no officers and the king is a coward and surrenders to the opposition
I'm glad that at least one other person here is aware that we are in a war, a spiritual war. We have an enemy without, but we also have an enemy within our ranks too. The enemy within is as lethal as our external enemy. And I fear that the episcopacy too contains enemy elements. I take no pleasure saying this.
I will use another war image. Think of a large but poorly trained and poorly motivated and poorly equipped army of conscripts. Join the army or face prison. A rabble of useless men. Dissent in the ranks, theft common place in the barracks, cowardly when in a tight spot, prone to desertion. That was the church in Ireland from the 2nd half of the 19thC up untill maybe the 1990's Every one was seen to be a regular devout Catholic especially when being watched. Compare the conscripted army to an army of volunteers, an army of highly motivated professional soldiers, disciplined, highly trained. Stand their ground and fight for their brother soldiers around them against all odds. But! This new army is a smaller army and society doesn't understand why you would want to volunteer! Maybe even has contempt for the soldiers. This is the future of the Irish church . Watch the talk by Fr kilcoyne --behind enemy lines, the rise of the Catholic resistance.
The Bishops are failing in their duty. Those who prefer a quiet life rather than standing up for Christ should step down from their positions and hopefully, those who truly believe in the mission of faith can step forward if they actully exist in the church.
I feel our Church will be damned if they do and damned if they dont. I see those that find our Faith uncomfortable or have turned their back on it would use this to open old wounds. That said what comes of it is out of our hands and the Truth is so very important. They need to be brave. They also need us to back them up. The sooner its out the faster we heal.
Dominos vobiscum Robert. Deeply hurtful and extremely disappointing that Abp. Martin (and other bishops) refused to confirm catholic teaching on male/female creation. Many will interpret their positions as having abandoned/rejected a core Catholic belief. Blessings
I am from America and we have a school in my county that had to install special facilities with litter boxes for students identifying as cats. Goodness.
I agree totally, a really great video. I know of a request sent to the Primate of all Ireland to re-consecrate the country of Ireland to Our Lady, who is the Pearl of The Holy Family and the Queen of Ireland; As of yet there has not been as much as an acknowledgement of receiving the correspondence, let alone a vigour to do it! So that is very very sad, for us as a people and for our descendants 'Do not weep for me but for yourselves and your children' - Jesus Our clergy could take a leaf from our Christian friends in the way they have bible school, sing praise hymns (music is a great way to help younglings remember!), gather and pray as a community when someone in their community is in need of it. But then again, we the lay people, could also do with that same leaf! The Chosen People had it all, but they crucified The Messiah, so the faith was taken from them and given to us to use and safeguard and spread to all. If our hirearchy don't do this, then it will be also taken and given to those who are alive in Jesus Please do keep up the great work, it's so refreshing to have an Irish man speak as you do. God Bless
By the way, I notice most people don't recognise the name Michael Ledwith. I think he's more culpable than most for the decline of the Irish Church. You can see some of his later "lectures" on TH-cam, if you don't need to get any potatoes washed.
correct, the maryvale institute in the u k is more or less finished up now,the bishop wanted the teachings watered down, then the lecturers guided by their conscience upped and left ,
Things falling apart in the Church reminds me of the Tower of Babel in the Old Testament. Try building something without the guidance on God, it falls apart in the end. God’s Church will stand, but the false teachings will be crumbling left and right, eventually. The synodal tower will collapse. The pillar of Truth will remain standing.
Thanks Robert, Great presentation with too many positives to comment on. One wonders though, when one sees the onslaught Fr Sheehy endured - that sole courageous priest who had the guts to exorcise his priestly duty to the people in the Tralee Parish- at the hands of some of the Mass attendees and the input from the local Bishop afterwards, what hope is there that the Bishops even have the will to step in, never mind the wit to do so? I do also commend Fr Brendan for his earlier blog which I found quite powerful, but settling the Fr Sheehy matter is far more important as the failure of the Bishops in this instance is far more concerning, urgent and acute. This failure is also indicative of the many failures by the bishops which you picked up on here, especially the lack of any real Catechises in schools and parishes.
If you were to make a penny catechesis addressed to the sons and daughters of Ireland aimed at drawing people back to the faith, what 10 questions would be most relevant? Not sure it would work though. Many people these days have all of the answers and none of the questions.
