This is a absolute disgrace 🤢. No matter where it is. This is people who are lazy and have dropped out of society and they may have mental health issues. Most of them are drug addicts. Who are there because they want to be. And it doesn't help people handle them stuff and food what is the point of getting help. When they have everything there. I know kind people mean well. To give food. But it is also feeding the problem. The government really needs to step up. I don't have any answers to the problem. But it has to be addressed.

Paid the people to clean up the breaches and around the stores and apartments and old folks homes. Pay them to help clean up their area and the residents and out of stated people mess. $7.50 hr person for a area each day. It adds up after awhile. That is about $53 a week. Use $5 each day for food and water if you are not good with money or $3 if you are very good with money. For instance most places have free water so just buy the food ects. And so on. That Is not counting their own money from begging. I mean even good Samaritan could just put the money in a bucket guarded by those running the program to pay them for cleaning. This way the money is use for good and the place is kept clean. It's that simple. If they have enough cash they could up the paid to $13 or more an hour. Could even go from block to block around the city cleaning up and having the residents chip in a $1 into the bank for the project of keeping california clean and the homeless feed and clothes and shelter. You know a symbiosis relationship. Where both parties benifits from the other. What is a $1 anyways when your neighborhood could be cleaned up and looking nice and money coming in because people from outside of the usa wants to visit your beautiful cities and clean beaches.

@@ShouttoJesusChrist I have a better idea. The government should take over the drug trade and set up clinics, doling out heroin, crack, or whatever. The catch? You have to do a day's work to get your daily fix. Don't want to pick up trash? Fine; enjoy your cold turkey.

@@ShouttoJesusChrist Switzerland now runs clinics where addicts can go to shoot up in a safe environment with clean needles. Bear in mind, most of the street addicts are already enslaved to drugs, and it's already ruined their lives. My plan would be not simply to give out the drugs of addiction, but also to offer addicts another path, any time they're ready for it: offer them naloxone or other drugs that block opiates, methadone maintenance, antibuse for alcoholics, etc. and social services to help them if they really wanted to clean up. But the social services would not just be a hand-out. They'd have to stay clean and do some kind of useful work to stay on the program.
What we're doing now doesn't work. The cities give out clean needles, which end up getting thrown in the street, creating a toxic nuisance, for i.e., kids walking to school, etc. This is just a rough sketch, but my suggestion is not at all inhuman. Think about it a bit: providing addiction drugs in clinics cuts out the drug dealers and the associated crime, prevents deadly overdoses, not to mention cutting down on AIDS and other diseases, keeping dirty needles off the street, etc. etc. It's just acknowledging the fact that addicts are already "enslaved" and they're going to get their drugs from somewhere.

I had the pleasure of going to Venice Beach 36 years ago I had always hoped to get to go back, but I never did. I can’t imagine having had an investment 40 years ago 20 years ago and to think that you would retire and then this is watch your face with so much for equity of your labors. On the flipside of that, I am not unfeeling for the homeless and their plight, but A lot of them won’t conform so that they can have a place to live no they won’t follow the rules, not just of polite society but to get along, and to live and let live. I understand that an $8 million complex is going to be built within a few blocks of Venice Beach for homeless people and that there will not be a lot of restrictions as far as signing in, drinking and drugs, things like that, and that the new DA Will not prosecute trespassing, misdemeanors, driving without a valid drivers license, prostitution, etc. I understand that it is difficult for the police to stop these people and to make an arrest and to do their job to uphold the law with people who don’t care for the law they’re just trying to live, And I get that but surely they can have some respect and consideration that someone has worked hard, kept her nose clean, made an investment, for their future and now someone else is pissing on that. Also, I am not so blind to see that, especially in California, politicians have line their own pockets and promoted their own agendas at the expense of the taxpayers which some of them are likely to now I’ll be the homeless. So a Nancy Pelosi, a Gavin Newson, a Kamala Harris, etc. are people who don’t care about right and wrong, being fair, respecting the laborers, etc. and they are every bit as much of the problem because of their greed and corruption.

THe reason there is so much more less than the was 60 years ago is of course increase in population and secondly and more importantly is the cutting of funding of mental health institutions. Funding for mental health institutions and rehabs would begin to turn the tides on this problem. Unfortunately it may be too late. There are so many factors now contributing to homelessness. Economic problems. High rent + low wages. Drugs and alcohol. Mental Health. I think it's only going to get worse. Notice how during the pandemic the richest billionaires got richer. Didn't Jeff Bezos go from like $110 Billion net worth to $190 just in 2020. That's nuts all meanwhile many people have been laid off, furloughed, lost there livelihood or business, etc. Disparity of wealth just went into hyperspeed in 2020. National debt is climbing. I'd be interested to see what 2030 looks like in America.

I’m a little hard-pressed to figure out why you would want to live this kind of life in the first place. I mean is it really our politicians fault that people live like this on the street? I’m not going to back our politicians don’t get me wrong these guys are crooks through and through, But blaming this problem on politicians doesn’t really make sense considering they’re not the ones telling these people to feel the way they do about themselves. I don’t think any of us really have an idea about how you become homeless, most of us work really hard and we go and live our lives and we do what we’re supposed to do. Or at the very least we do what we’ve been told what we’re supposed to do. Nowadays you’ve got people on TH-cam telling other people how great it is to live in their car, people are decking out their cars, their vans America is getting to a point to where they would rather live on the street then have a mortgage and that’s pretty sad. We already don’t like having our politicians tell us what to do in our personal lives you see that all over TV all the time, people can’t stand government intruding into their homes. So what can we have The government do to fix this problem? If they go and start making rules about homeownership and prices of homes all it’s going to do is piss off people who have worked hard to own homes. Personally I think we should all be allowed to start homesteading again. To be given land for free as long as we build a structure and maintain it for five years or more. I think this would give a lot of people in this state ways to homeownership. I don’t know it’s just a thought.

Maybe we should create encampments until a better solution is found -- like we used to have during the dust bowel migrations? It is not a crime or immoral for the filthy rich to become filthy rich, as long as their wealth was earned by hard work and in an honest way. Some filthy rich have earned their wealth at the expense and suffering of others, such as drug and human traffickers who never get their hands dirty at the street level. I would advocate for the death penalty for those at the top of these cartels, once those are rooted out and executed then the next one would have to decide with their own personal life on the line, will they take that risk. Only a tough and extreme stance on the matter will bring lasting results. Otherwise it’s just an endless and ever increasing situation without solution.

Good job presentation. Surprising to see no boats in Homeless Camps. Change is coming, The Magnetic Field of Earth is Due to Flip, is already in progress. Ocean will wash across Coast as Earth Repositions!

So strange, if you were to have all that trash in your home, the government would evict you.

@@donnamays24 I would bet 99% of the people in those tents are addicts. Maybe 100%. That is partially their fault, BUT I think a big chunk of it is the fault of big pharma. I can't give you the % but it's not uncommon for someone to be addicted to Oxy and then switch to heroin when they lose their source of Oxy. E.g. their aunt's medicine cabinet.

Kitanai Koneko In the end, the governor, mayors and local elected officials are responsible for what is happening in their state, counties, and communities. That is why they are elected officials. They have a job to do and they are failing miserably. It doesn’t matter where the people came from. Once the problem has taken root in your community, it’s time to act. The fact that these officials have allowed it to get to this point is disgraceful. Change existing policy, come up with some viable solutions, it’s their duty.

Its heartbreaking my friend....we have an ever increasing homeless population here in Albuquerque as well, but NOTHING like on LAs scale, its just so hard to see. Maybe someday mental health care and drug/alcohol abuse help will be better handled....we can hope anyway. Peace everyone 🙏

I think it is time for the public to "go fund me" enough to put those people in buses and take them to each of the mayors and govenor's front door and let them out and see how long that last.
