Hey bud i think the whole evo x / ralliart community would be grateful if you shared this on social media. Your the first and only person thats had the courage to upload a whole series on how to fix the dreaded sst. 15 years in the making lol. They are reliable if you look after them as is it was a true manual.

@@josezamora7889 also how did you remove your cluster trim. I like the blue.

@@kr3am818 for that I think there’s a video. But to do that you first need to remove the long trim piece. Then remove the radio, after that all you have to do is pull on the top part of the cluster once you do that you should be able to take it out 👍 sorry if this explanation is confusing but if you see a video on it you’ll know what I’m talking about. That cluster part is a two piece so that’s how I was only able to paint the inner part 😁. Just be careful when you separate them because It’s a fragile plastic and I only bent/broke one clip.

I wish I knew how to work on transmissions by memory. It’s always a daunting thing to try something you never done before, especially with an $18,000 transmission.

I know what you mean, I didn’t have a garage so it was mostly done in my living room 😅 but I had the tools to do the tear down. Yes it’s nerve wracking when you try to put it back together.

    Good work bro.
I need to rebuild mime as well. Where can I find good quality parts for it?

    Bro you got some ballz.
    My torque plate springs rattles.
And I have to drop the trans.
    I hope it goes well.

Leslie Singh yeah thanks lol, yeah I found out it’s my damper and clutches but i want to do the whole tear down and build up and clean up parts. Even upgrade the fork 😬 I hope I’m able to reverse engineer 😅

Great series of videos. Was it hard and a lot of work to get the transmission out of the car? Did you do it in the garage on jack stands?

    • @josezamora7889

bigrustybucket for that part I had to pay a mechanic to remove the transmission from the car. But from what he told me is that it was hard plus some bolts were rusted and broke. 😬

Is the SST prone to valvebody failure?(mechatronic)

    • @josezamora7889
      @josezamora7889  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Jay chandler from what I investigated it can. Like right now one of my Mechatronic round side piece is a bit lifted. It’s not sitting flush. So I have to see if I need to replace it. Hopefully I can make a video on it next week or so. On my vehicle it doesn’t go 1-3-5-R but all even gears work. My dampener is broken and a lot of metal shavings on my magnets. I think it’s rare for valve body to malfunction unless it’s clogged or your solenoids aren’t working. Hopefully that answers your question.

@@josezamora7889 Thanks, yeah it did, because I've been told that the valvebody failures can seem random, abrupt or rare but that's because of dusting( the internal filter gets clogged and causes pressure issues in the valvebody and a new one is like 2k+ so I'm looking forward to your upcoming videos)

Jay chandler no worries, yeah I’m hoping to open this up and be as clear as I can on the video with lots of description and even pictures too of schematics. Probably will show how to do a replacement of seals as well. Let me know what I can change or do better on. Thanks 👍
