Go back to 5:55. You can see Hansen’s front end just barely pushes Pastrana’s rear end left into the corner which makes it unable to steer and causes him to understeer and float wide. Not sure if that was his exact plan or not, but damn did he pull it off smoothly

Suspension is really the marvel of car engineering...A pothole at low speed feels terrible, that same pothole doesn't exist at certain speeds! I learned that with coilovers. Spring rates, damping, rebounding all do different things at certain speeds.

That was cool to watch! I’ve been following RR for 25 years now( not lately though) but never seen guys going side by side like that! Usually it’s all them racing the “clock” on a road course to c who has the fastest time!!
Each driver has to do 1 "Joker lap" per race. This route is a little slower, but Travis was able to take his Joker lap first, then make up enough time to come out in front after Hansen did his Joker lap.
Hansen is a better driver. He puts the car, to the turn and the right angle of the Straight that follows , earlier so he gets a better exit speed\drive from the turn to the Straight that follows. Hansen also drove cleaner and did not lose his temper when he was behind. Another thing.the Swedes doing rallycross, as they learn to walk. How much contact is it allowed in these races? I'd imagine they're way more lenient than GT series or F1 because of the more unpredictable nature of the driving, with all the sliding around, but some of that contact looked pretty aggressive. Are there contact penalties or is it all fair game unless you deliberately crash someone out?
awkward race. When travis was trailing he had a few opportunities to bump the lead off the line, but instead he chose to keep it clean. Then hansen comes back and smashes into travis to take the lead back. This about racing skills or bumper car maneuvers?
Travis never had the chance to touch Hansen when he was behind except for in the first corner but if he pushed Hansen's back end out at that point Travis would have been DQ. When Hansen "smashed" in to Travis he just nudged him a little which was completely fine because that touch did not affect the position change. Hansen would have overtaken him either way since Travis couldn't hold the line, he was out of position before Hansen even touched him. What Travis did in the last corner would have ended in a DQ though since Travis pushed Hansen out of position, but it didn't matter. Since Hansen is the better driver, he won easily anyway.
I don't know about you, but these RedBull cars are almost unbeatable. I would like to see Travis with that Ford Focus from Ken block, oh yes I think it would be a tighter race
Nah, just driving skills. The only reason people like pastrana and ken block gets a free pass everywhere is because they well known names that attracts people. There's a reason why you never see them win anything big.
Loving the drone footage awesome. More motorsports need to adopt it.
Agreed
Well i think it's because they are not really fast compared to other motorsports that use circuit or tarmac track
Drifting does that and it look epic
@@Kilinho98 yep, RDS has very beautiful drone footage
Yes. The first time i feel so immersed in the race
Hansen really tricked Pastrana in that last corner. Very clever driving, so easy to be dragged in like that.

Amazing race for both Pastrana and Hansen.
What a race! That was great to see. Exceptional camera footage too with the drone. That was sick AF.

Awesome race, killer drone footage!
What is the purpose of the joker lap?
To add dimension on the race, so you're not just following each other the whole time. Sort of similar to the mandatory pit stop in F1.
