Thanks guys, what a great way to spend the day mates stuffing around on bikes. I must say, that XR has to be the ugly duckling of the bunch. Thanks for all the effortニ
Good stuff lads - a bit of fun which always goes down well. I can see why folks would love both of these bikes for very different reasons. Personally I would buy a R nine T and with the spare change customise it. However, nothing trumps my 1250GS exclusive which does it all and saves you buying two bikes... Thanks for posting.
RnineT is a good call, but there’s far too many boxer BMWs in the collection. A Ducati Diavel would be intriguing though. I rode one a while back and it was pretty awesome.
Already 2 GS’s in the BBB stable , and yes, they do do it all and totally rock, but both of these bikes bring a whole,e different dynamic to riding. As for the R9T, personally I think they are cool, but it’s the older boxer engine, and I didn’t want that . As for customising the R9T, have you seen the size of the HD accessory catalog? Keep it sunny side up
1000 miles in and yes GS is annoyingly very good (Im coming to terms with no other rider nodding any more!) However has much as the GS is a very sensible choice and does everything convincingly, bikes like the Tuono are hard to ignore for sheer outright exhilaration.
The main point here and why I bought the Tuono is that in a few years both these bikes will become resigned to the history books. The outrageous speed and MotoGP soundtrack of the Tuono is increasingly "socially unacceptable" so I really had to own one while they were still on the market (and to be honest while I still had the courage to handle the performance). Despite being a 6 year old design the V4 1100 still sets the benchmark for the hyper-naked class - and many prefer it to the new Streetfighter. The sublime neutral handling, grip and smooth power delivery make the Tuono a real pussycat on road - the throttle does work both ways! Do try one! (Oh and it really doesn't need a fuel gauge - there's a fuel light with 20 miles reserve and the range is a consistent 100 miles minimum so the trip gives easy reference on available range - Mick just can't do maths!)
Your right Mick can't do Maths ,,,,,,,, he qualified as a Woodwork Teacher !!. still need a fuel gauge. It is without doubt an awesome machine. I previously had the Triumph 675 Street Tripple RS which was a similar bike with a smaller engine, a lot of fun to ride and you could really open the throttle without killing yourself. You would without doubt kill yourself if you did that on the Tuono. As Andy T said a great track bike.
Total fun. Nice job.
Whatever you think of either bike, they both *sound* awesome 😎
Great to see guys having fun
Not punting for sponsorship and the like!!
Well done.
Sponsorship! Who’d sponsor us? We’d only swear at them :-)
Love it. Don't know how I ever managed before this closely matched comparison :-)
Us neither, but now we know what was missing in our lives!
Good one guys. Nice to see you about. Cheers

How to upset a short fat Welshman...tell him his XR is ugly !!!!! Thanks for watching and hope you enjoyed.
Need both... had both until I traded my HD for a sole-less goldwing..... dumped that vacuum cleaner quickly....

I 100% agree with this. Get your kicks while you still can!
