Puppy Feeding Guide: What, When, and How Much to Feed Your New Pup!

What to feed a puppy:
When feeding homemade food, the biggest concern that people have is that will it give all the nutrients to the puppy? Yes, it will. But, if the meal you are giving is not nutritious, then giving it is of no use. If you want to prepare a perfect homemade meal for the new puppy, or even for a dog, the right consistency would be:
Carbohydrates: 45% (Rice or Chappati)
Fats: 25% (chicken fat, egg yolk)
Protein: 30% (egg, fish, chicken, dahi, paneer, lassi)
The best part about feeding a homemade diet is that a single item contains everything in a different quantity. Pulses (dal) consist of a complex mixture of both micro and macronutrients some of them contain higher protein, some contain fat, and some contain high carbs. Vegetables and fruits can be great sources of fiber, vitamins, and minerals. You can take some boiled vegetables and add them to the meal. The requirement of calcium can be fulfilled by giving raw bones to dogs, pulses, vegetable, and milk products like Dahi, paneer, yogurt, etc.
Anything a puppy eats, make sure it doesn’t have excess salt, sugar, chilies, or spices.

Now you might be thinking that why choose manufactured dog food? This could a huge time, energy, and even money saver. And every time you will feed the puppy, you will feed the right amount and a perfectly balanced meal, without buying too many things, and spending hours preparing meals.

Which Variant at what age:
0 - 2 Months:
For puppies mother’s milk is good, for the first 45 days.
Weaning means switching a puppy from mother’s milk to solid dog food. Now when the puppy becomes 45 days old, this is the recommended age to wean the puppy.
But how to do that? Take the required portion of the Mother and Pup variant (according to puppy weight), and put it inside the blender. You have to make a paste out of it and feed the puppy this way until he gets 50 days old.
Once the puppy becomes 50 days old, after that for the next 5 days, you have to take the required portion of the same dog food, and add lukewarm water to it. By following such steps you can wean the puppies.
2 - 15 Months:
This is when you have to start feeding him the Puppy Varient of Royal Canin for a puppy.
But to switch food from one variant to another, or from one company to another, there is a way to do that. This will take 4 days: On the first day, take 25% of new food and rest the old food, next day take 50% of new food and rest old, 75% of new food the next day and 25% old, and finally 100% of new dog food.
15 Months Onwards:
At this time you, have to switch the puppy from eating puppy food to adult dog food.
How much to feed a Puppy:
It is decided by its weight and age. For Example: If the puppy is 3 months old, and weighs around 6kg, then you have to feed him 128 grams of dog food IN A DAY. Similarly at every pack, the company provides details about how much of their dog food is required for the puppy.
How many times to feed a puppy:
Now how many times you have to feed a new puppy, will decide by what age it is.
45 - 2 Months:
Before 45 days they are only for mother’s milk. But as they become 45 days old, you can feed them 4 times a day, according to their weight. The partition decided per day, should be divided into 4 different meals.
2 - 6 Months:
At this age, you have to feed the puppy 3 times a day.
6+ Months:
At this age, you can easily feed 2 times a day.

No no no.
For a 2 month old, you don't have to switch. You can simply buy PUPPY VARIENT, and feed it to the puppy.
What you can do, is that: ask the person wh you are buying, about what he's feeding the puppy. Also ask him to give you some of that food. After that you can switch the way shown in video.
