This is my review for what I think is the best coffee travel mug on the market. It twists close at the top and is very secure. YOU CAN'T SPILL with this travel mug, mainly because of it's vacuum sealed technology, and autosip feature. Not only that, but it's the easiest coffee mug to drink from, you simply push the button with your thumb as you take a drink, it simply doesn't get any easier than this!
You also have double insulated walls, so your liquid stays hot for hours and hours, seriously! It's made of stainless steel on the inside and out, so your hot liquids won't be sitting in plastic (as with most mugs), which release harmful and cancer causing chemicals into your drink.
This is truly the perfect coffee bottle (or any other hot or cold liquid), by Contigo who's known for making very high quality bottles. They come available in a variety of colors, as well as in 16 ounce and 20 ounce sizes. I can't say how impressed and happy I am with this series of travel mugs and give it my full recommendation.

Hey, I appreciate the review. I just ordered this product on amazon and I wanted to get a feel for it before it arrives.
One thing to point out in your review - vacuum insulation technology doesn't do anything to vacuum seal the liquid inside. Rather, since heat for the most part doesn't travel through empty space, the mug has a chamber surrounding the liquid inside the coffee, and in this chamber, there is a vacuum where almost all gas has been removed. This does a very good job at insulating.

Yes your right about the vacuum insulation technology, I was just quoting what the manufacturers labeled this technology, but perhaps I should have explained how it works, as you just did.
I have 5 of these mugs. I always take it on the airplane with me after spilling coffee on myself a couple of times. Totally spill proof. It's saved countless keyboards and car interiors.
0:55 Um... No, it does not vacuum seal the liquids inside. That's ridiculous. What it has is a vacuum sealed barrier between the outer wall and inner wall of the mug. This creates a heat barrier between the outside jacket and the liquids inside.
+drgonzo212 Yes, but the liquids are indeed sealed in the container, when you push the button it makes a pressure release out of the mouth hole, it's spill proof, so yeah technically I may have misspoken, but it doesn't get any more sealed than this, and the liquid is inside of a vacuum sealed container, so maybe I didn't misspeak after all ;)
That button thing is pretty genius.. should the mug fall while i'm taking a drink it'll close right up!! Good stuff!

My 4 newer taller slimmer ASTOR ARIAs are less insulating than the Roadster. Was this change made merely to pack/ship more units more cheaply but they don’t hold heat as well as the Roadster model did.Thoose squatter, thicker models had a better sipping lid design, in my opinion. Also they cut their production costs by doing away with the nice solid plastic collar at the top of the insulated mug portion. This collar not only added insulation and grippyness, I think it also created a better seal.
Going to order this now, looks great!

TrentRecommends Can you unscrew the entire cover without pressing the button ? ie does the button act as lock to prevent the entire cover from inadvertently unscrewing in your bag?
The button has nothing to do with unscrewing the lid. There is no way the lid can unscrew by itself, it's a tight seal!
Hi, Thanks for your review. I have two questions. Does it fit in a car drink holder? Does it get mold/rancid milk smell in the plastic lid?
+Jimmy K It fits in most car drink holders, definitely. It doesn't get mold/rancid milk smell unless you leave the coffee in there for over a day without emptying it or rinsing out the lid, the lid is very easy to rinse out and clean (also top rack dishwasher safe), you should rinse the lid out after every time you put coffee or any other drink besides water. Obviously any container will smell rancid if you leave old coffee/milk in the container/lid without cleaning it.

I bought the astor pack at costco which is a good deal, and reviewed it, but unfortunately they lowered the quality of some of the components compared to the aria (your thinking you bought the aria, but you actually bought the astor, which was made specifically for costco)... they are both almost the same except the aria has a higher quality rubber grip, and is available in 20oz sizes. You can see my video comparison of these two in my channel.

I’d be a lot more impressed if you knocked it off the table full of coffee and held it upside down full of coffee for a little while. I don’t like this mug. I bought Contigo Sporster/Roadster mugs at Costco a couple of years ago . I was impressed. They kept coffee warm all morning and was still ok to drink at lunch. They did NOT leak, ever. I have one left and would buy more.

+Bob Chalapenko Toss it? I've been fairly rough with our mugs and never broke the tops before. Do you know the top has a lifetime warranty? You should be able to get it replaced no problem.
The newerASTOR do drip all over the place now . The “lock” is a useless annoyance that does not keep the mug from leaking. I’ve got coffee on my car seat and desk top business papers from relying on their ARIA/ASTOR newer mugs. Tell me if CONTIGO improves design for the CUSTOMER. I’m spoiled and disappointed. Now I’ll only buy the used old Roadster style. But I can only find them in an ugly orange collar now and they are more expensive than when I bough them.
