I personally don't care for Rat rods in general. Don't get me wrong, the amount of time, money, and work that goes into them can be impressive. I don't have a problem with using whatever parts you have in order to build your custom vehicle. My biggest thing is putting that much money into a vehicle with an extra amount to make it look like junk. Well, Junk is a harsh word because everyone who has built a custom vehicle has spent their hard earned cash in order to build their custom vehicle. I also understand that everyone has their own personal taste in vehicles. I have seen more than my fair share of Rat rods. Quite a few of them have excellent craftsmanship and fabrication in them but after building custom vehicles for 20 years a rat rod just seems or appears to be unfinished to me. This is a bad ass truck though!!!
Elite Dude The only way you would be screwed by getting high centered on a speed bump is by not knowing how to drive a lowered vehicle or in this case, a "SLAMMED" vehicle. I owned a 1973, Cadillac, Fleetwood Brougham that I had slammed down as close as I could and still drive it. She sat an inch and a half off of the ground all the time. Now mind you, my Caddy was 19'3" long. After slamming her on the ground you had to learn how to drive it. If you approached speed bumps and steep driveways at an angle, getting over speed bumps or steep driveways were not a problem. It's always about how you drive, no matter what vehicle your driving
@@mrbratt69 true but you can't deny you are extremely limited to where you can drive. It's hard to come at a speed bump at an angle when there is traffic on the other side or the road being narrow with drainage ditchs on each side. Still a cool ride though.
Simi truck tires suck? Lol. Those are among the most reliable tires you could use. They were designed to carry extremely heavy loads and with this light setup they would only get typical wear from the road but will last way longer then a normal truck tire. They are more likely to dry rot before you would need to change them.
The spikes on the lug nuts looks cheap, and can be dangerous to pedestrians. Don't know why people put them; have seen them on some Semis. The gear-shift lever and know extending up above the sunroof hatch just looks silly. Other than that the car looks ok. I like rat-rods in general though this one is not my cup-of-tea.
