Don't get me wrong, I appreciate you trying to teach us something. But this video proves your point wrong. Experience can surely beat technology, but not in this case. All shots on the hero 9 look way better. I did my research on gopro and settings, only to find out that your really don't need to do anything in the settings at all. I did comparisons with flat color profile and gopro color profile etc. First thing, you almost can't get the skin tones right by doing your own grading, so as soon as you are filming a person, forget about the flat profile. Also, a lot of these gopro tutorials are centered around getting the max dynamic range. This is not a purpose as such if it doesn't serve the aesthetic of the scene you want to capture. Long story short, keep the standard settings for most part. Think about it, the launch videos of the Gopro Hero 2 also look great and didn't even have all those fancy options in protune. The only thing I tend to do is to manually set the white balance and set a fixed low ISO even for darker scenes (because I hate noise). The only reason why gopro launch videos look great is because the cinematographers making those videos understand how the sun works as a natural light source and because for each clip they put in the demo reel a thousand others were tossed away. The key here is, experience in getting a good shot is not understanding all settings of your camera or even your skills of editing, grading, or even the way you shoot. The only experience that matters is how you use your available natural light sources.
I totally agréé. I am using hero silver 4 right now.. i am a begginer.. but i observed that with the hero 4, if you had a nice shot or view or not againts with the light.. the camera is just good.. i am contented with hero 4. Still learning.

I bought the hero 9 for stabilzation reasons and now I realise that the stable feature falls apart in blurry shutter speeds. I wish I had spent the money on a karma grip for my old hero 4 instead.
So, as in most cases, it is not the device that makes good photos / videos, it's the artist who makes the image (still or moving) great. This clip is a good example that shows the difference.

I lost one when i was surfing 😂😂💀 So i bought another cause the show had to go on. Worth it cause I did so much and learned those mounts work but can slip off from the handler 😂
You should bring your "room mate" to Costa Rica to see how much she had improved. With all activities in the nature you'll find here, it will be the perfect place for the top trial.

I don't understand what is the point of the comparison if both are using a gimbal... A huge part of the gen upgrades for gopro are the stabilization improvements.
