Second Roden Box and already I am seeing a love-hate relationship to grow. While attempting to build the kit I try to avoid stepping on it or throwing it to the wall. When I finally finish it, I am happy that I managed to complete it without tossing it straight to the garbage. Love-hate relationship.
Like previous box, it looks like it arrived to me by going first through a war zone but this time all was intact. Not much flash, a bit around small pieces but nothing infuriating.
What will make you wanting to break the kit is the way Roden expects you to glue in place some pieces and the fact that in some cases there are no holes or pins.
Step 4: Part 21a that holds the two tires together needs to be glued with pieces 10b. Only problem is that pieces 10b do not have holes in order for 21a to pass through so what is the angle of the landing gear when you will need to glued everything on the fuselage? (see part 7) and so how are you supposed to put everything together. What I did was to glue them on the fuselage first in an angle I kind of measured and when almost dried I turned the plane the right side up and added 21a. Maybe you can figure a better way.
Step 5: It tells you to add step 2 to the fuselage. Again, here there are no holes and no pins so it has to sit exactly on top but it doesn’t, or you try to use a bit of force in order to glue it and it moves. Same thing when you will try to glue the two halves of the fuselage together. You just hold them together trying to make sure they don’t move. You can try to hold them with tape but make sure the pieces did not move during the process.
Steps 1 and 2: Add 16a after you passed the engine through piece 3a (step 2) and add pieces 15a after you have painted piece 3a.
Step 6: Ahhhhhh the struts (pieces 6b and 8b). The outer struts need to be in an angle. So pure guessing again. Glued them on the lower wing and when dried but still able to bend them a bit I turned the plane upside down figured the angle and superglued them to the top wing. Then I added the inner struts by gluing them to the top wing and supergluing them to the fuselage.
Decals: Well the two I was supposed to use for the fuselage sides were destroyed before I even touched them so I used the two with the white around the cross. Watch out because Roden decals are sensitive even to the water. Move fast and not too much moving around.
    Rigging instructions included.

Nice build, mate. I am afraid the aerodrome grass is a bit out of scale, though. :)
