    Fake photography TH-camrs hate the 5D, because it makes you work.

    So basically , this camera is for people who know that they are doing and are not lazy. Sounds like a great camera to me

    The advantages of modern cameras are unnecessary to me. DSLRs help me remain active and not get lazy.

    Oh boy. A camera like this is similar to a film camera. It doesnt hold your hand and do everything for you. It will separate real photographers with actual talent from those who just let a newer camera with auto everything do all the work as they just click the shutter. Kids who just started shooting with iPhones and mirrorless cameras will get frustrated quickly with a camera like this. I have been shooting fashion/portraits professionally for 20 years now, I still own and use the 5D classic quite a bit. The sensor is excellent and gives a filmic look you won't get from modern mirrorless cameras that often look sterile with no character. It's called the 5D classic for a good reason 😊 You dont need to chimp when you know how to expose properly, and read a histogram. Thats why you use the viewfinder. It has all that info about your exposure inside there. Besides, holding a camera out like an iPhone looks very amateurish. Ask any model. Some good shots here.

      I agree with this. Today's cameras try to be so true to life that have 0 character, and often the new "film simulation recipes" look even worse. Like it is too artificial for my taste. And hell of expensive for an enthusiast like me.

    I believe that a flip screen for low angle shots and higher screen resolution would have been nice. But if you are all about photography and you really want to master your craft this is the way to go. I got mine and I wish I had more chances to shoot it because when I go out I usually take my film camera but this is the closest to film there is. I know Sonys and Fujis with super high quality low light image are cool, but now they look a bit too digital to me.

    Thank you for sharing this fun photoshoot. Great demonstration! I have the same observations, it is a very capable camera even today. Does wonderful still shots and landscape shots. Not good for low light, and not good for moving subjects. Makes one work too hard if the purpose is to shoot professionally on a daily basis. It gets the job done, but you have to work so much harder and longer that it is not practical to earn money like that. You have to frame right (cannot crop, as the size would be too small) and you have to capture the moment (no bursts), and focus and recompose instead of point and shoot.
    I have noticed that the issue with focus (not always sharp, inability to focus in low light) completely goes away when I'm using the Sigma ART 35mm lens. The common EF lenses (Nifty fifty, and other lower grade EF lenses) take long to focus and even then the exact focal plane is often missed when shooting wide open, and the shots are not that sharp, and they hunt in low light, often unable to focus at all. With the Sigma ART lens even in low light it always locks focus almost instantly and the shots are always sharp. It feels like upgrading to a so much more capable camera. Also, the Sigma ARTs images are razor sharp, I get the impession as if the resolution climbed up to many many times. I can often zoom in to 300% and the picture still looks organic and detailed and contrasty, while with the simpler EF lenses at 300% (even at 100%) all I get is a blur and lack of clarity.
    All in all, there are lots of limitations. Despite my love for the camera I wanted to upgrade. However, sticking the ART lens on it (and I assume L series glass as well would) breathed a completely new level of capability to it. High resolution, accurate focus, low light. Well, not as high / sharp / ect as modern cameras, but such a major jump from EF glass that I have lost all desire to look for mirrorless when I take shots for myself.
    When I still want the mirrorless: when you cannot focus and recompose, such as capturing social events, moving action, or when you need a compact camera that fits in your pocket. (The ART lens is huge and heavy...)

    Young ones!! We old goes got so good with film, we knew we got the shot in a few frames, with light meters ect and knowing our FD lenses:) . The Canon 5D, oh yes!! Try a couple of L Lenses on it, 50mm for sure!! :) You'll cook with that one!!

    I used the 5dii from the time it came out up until 3 years ago when it crapped out. I've since switched to Sony Riii and will use this until it's dead. The only problem with GAS i have is glass. I still use super old L glass like the legendary 200 prime on my Sony. I'm kinda glad people are moving away from the ef mount. Great deals for me on eBay. Zeiss has never been more affordable lol. I feel like the 7Riii is going to be Sonys 5dii in the future. One of the best sensors Sony has ever made. There is something magical about the 5dii and even 5d classic sensor. The iii and iv don't have it.

    What made you tell the model to "shake it out?" What does that aim to accomplish?

    • @noelozanophoto
      @noelozanophoto  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I could have sworn I replied to this but I’m not seeing it. I ask the model to shake it out as a way to reset. Sometimes they can freeze up or hold poses unnecessarily so that’s my go-to to break things up and bit a reset.

      It was priced under $200 USD on the used market for some years. Recently, it has become popular again and prices have gone up a tad bit.
      However, if you meant "cheap" as in quality I agree ,It definitely isn't. It's a workhorse. Made for the working photographer.

      The 5D classic kinda rose to popularity back in 2018 when DSLRs were still reigning, causing their prices to go up during that time. However now in 2024 with DSLRs being phased out little by little, in addition to its lack of video, the 5D is back to being pretty cheap for a used full frame camera. You can find them from anywhere between $120-$250 depending on condition.
