This was the absolute best show ever...... my favorite lead character with same first name & witty charm. Never missed an episode, this made bruce a mega star. Shows try to recreate the chemistry between david & maddie but fall short.
I remember watching this show when I was a kid. It aired in my country in the late 80's, on Mondays and I think they just aired up to season 3. I never knew what had happened to them so I imagined they lived together happily ever after. I prefer that ending as to what really became of them. Too bad the writers didn't give them the ending they deserved. Regardless of it, this was an amazing show with a chemistry between the lead characters that transcends time.
Imagine how much better the last two seasons would have been if they had done a better job with their relationship! David and Maddie could have still had the same tension, just explored in a different and still humorous way
Very well put together. T.V was at it's best back in the day. Don't get me wrong, there are shows done today that are just mindblowing but it's a different period, now. A darker period and there's no optimism for anything other than the fact that the shit hasn't hit the fan just yet. Does anybody 'get' what I'm trying to say?

Another commenter mentioned that he's had that same sort of (sexist) argument with women ... me too! ... but tell me, friend, how many of David Addison't lines did you fall back on - consciously or subconsciously - during those arguments? ... yeah, me, too! (My wife hates it when I watch Moonlighting, 'cause I'm Addison all over again for hours afterwords! HA!)
If the stars reunited to make this show again now, not only would it be a huge hit, I strongly suspect it would do a lot to diffuse so much of the tension in society today.
5:37 Present day: I saw a woman trying to change a flat tire on her car along side the road in the rain and cold. I wanted to help her but I didn't want her to think I was only helping her because she was a woman. So I kept going and didn't worry about it.
@pibaki Yeah, I agree. Looking back, David Addison was the character with the best lines because he had to drive Maddie insane and out of her zone of comfort. The scene where he tells Maddie she's a sexist is terrific (I know because I had conversations with women just like that). Well written, smart but exhausting to make.
I know it's been a number of years ago since this has been posted, but I would appeal to the "Nazelway" to repost at a higher quality, at least 360 lines. This is too good a video to limit the quality to what is shown here!
@tewkewl So did I. I like the whole demolishing the 4th wall business since it transformed the show from a typical romantic comedy show into something self-conscious, self-reflexsive and self-parodying and original. Cynical and jaded as Iam, I get a good feeling when I watch this on youtube

I was 21 when this aired in my beloved England in 1985, I stayed in every Thursday to watch this, best tv show then and I still love it ......
This show was 48 minutes of them bickering every week. It was awesome.

I absolutely LOVE this show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bruce and Cybil were brilliant! I just wish there were more people my age watching the DVD's.

As long as it had as good writing as the original and didn't pander to the audience, I would definitely watch. But it still wouldn't be the same.
