Come on Brett. I can top your top ten foods in New York City. Here they are. 1. For Pizza -- Grimaldi's or DiFara (both in Brooklyn, New York) 2. Dominican Food -- La Casa Del Mofongo (in Washington Heights) celebrities eat here. Cheap. 3. Steaks -- Peter Luger or Delmonico (in Brooklyn and Manhattan respectively) 4. Cheesecakes -- Juniors Restaurant (found all NYC, main one in Brooklyn) 5. Indian Food -- Seva Indian Cousine (in Queens, New York) delicious flavors people !!! 6. Jewish Food -- Katz Deli (in Manhattan) best Pastrami massive sandwich on Earth !! 7. Frankfuters -- Papayas Frankfuters (in Manhattan) really cheap with delicious toppings. 8. Chinese Food -- Wah Fung Fast Food (China town) The BEST Chinese food in NYC. 9. BBQ Meat -- Dinosaur Bar-B-Que (Brooklyn) Just try it once in your life. Trust me. 10. Hamburgers -- Paul's Da Burger Joint (in Manhattan) laid back, delicious and cheap 11. Ribs -- The name of this restaurant is called Fresh Taco. They have delicious Tacos, Paella Rice from Spain, chicken and steak. But, their Ribs are soft, perfectly cooked and sliced thin. Their food is to go with no tables there. The food is cheap too !!!!! (they're on 46 Street and 47 avenue in Sunnyside, Queens) Takeout. Other Worldly GOOD !! Other honorable mentions -- Seduttos Ice Cream (in Manhattan), Freakin Puerto Rican (in Queens), Kabayan Filipino Authentic Cuisine (in Queens), Magnolia Bakery (in Manhattan) Smack silly good !!! Trust me people. I was born and raised here in New York City. We have over 44,000 restaurants in this city. For me to pick the above places is because when I tried them, I spent days afterward thinking of how delicious they are !!!
For pizza, I think Grimaldi's became a tourist trap. Go with Juiliana's, Lucali, and Joe's on Carmine St. DiFara is ok, but not the same without Dom DeMarco making the pies.
This comment convinced me to save the list, I like your reasoning, but as an Asian if I may ask, did all those place located on safe neighborhood or I need to get bodyguard for some places? any of those places that have super long queue time or having really bad attitude despite the taste? Because I personally think eat experience also influenced by mood.
@@velzing22 Aga you have nothing to worry about. All of these neighborhood eats I recommend are all safe. The second option (Dominican) I would say go around noon because that is when their food is the freshest and has not been sitting around in a heater. But, they cook so out of this world delicious. All the other spots you can go in the day or night time and I guarantee you that you will be dreaming of going back to these places in your dreams. I recommend that you video record each spot and put it on TH-cam and Instagram. Have fun !!
Evan Estrada It will never be over/disappear, we have to learn to live with it/protect against it/train our immune system/antibodies with vaccines and other methods. I get what you mean but it’s not like quarantine will be over when the virus is “gone”, (probably a lot earlier to avoid frying the economy) or even when a vaccine is created (there is no way to vaccinate every human on earth). Didn’t mean to come across as a party pooper, just a heads up that the virus won’t disappear/we simply have to adapt. But I agree, he should definitely go to more interesting nyc restaurants in the future!

Just got back from NYC last wk, 1st time there. Had Peter Luger, Katz Deli, Lombardi's pie and Los tacos No. 1. Thanks to TH-camr's like you, it made it one of the most memorable trips ever. I thank you!
Brett, killer video! Such a fantastic mix of incredible eats. I can’t wait till I’m back in NYC to follow your list of places to eat! Thanks Brother, keep the vids coming. Chris

I really loved this video. Great editing, enthusiastic, and looks like the food was good. I’ll definitely check out some of these the next time I’m in NYC.
I’m from queens and can vouch for halal guys, katz deli, and boba guys! I do prefer though Kung fu tea, order the passionfruit green tea! If you find yourself in queens or Brooklyn try lennys clam bar in queens for Italian food. Also, nearby is new park pizza which is very known for their brick oven pizza!! Joes shanghai for soup dumplings in flushing, cabana for amazing Cuban food, Martha’s bakery, shah’s halal, the gully NYC, chip for cookies, hero Thai and izakaya, blend on the water, sweet chick, okonomi/yuji ramen, oasis, 12 chairs cafe, while in kathmandu, Jackson diner Indian cuisine, and much more. This is mostly places in queens and Brooklyn! Hope this helps someone !
When I lived in NYC, Thompkins SQ. was chainlinked off to keep the junkies out. And you only went to Brooklyn if your family already lived there. Ahh, memories.❤️🤘🏼
Tompkins Square Bagels are amazing! Tried in August, can't wait for the next trip. Need to try Los Tacos and Katz. Big fan of Junior's Cheesecake, Russ and Daughters, etc. Honestly, all NYC food is good. I have never had a bad meal.
I have a feeling the pizza on pizza idea comes from the movie Saturday Night Fever where John Travolta eats a pizza on top of pizza during his iconic walk scene.
I used to train for cycling in Boulder, Colorado and a very popular pizza joint, The Sink, had the most delicious pizza crusts. The Sink would serve your pizza with a bottle of a "honey bear" to lather the left over crust with honey! DELICIOUS!
Great list, I think the Halal Guys, point of origination, was 53rd and Sixth. They have no less than four carts on that corner and are flanked on all sides by copy-cats. Enjoy!
One of my favorite spots is Sullivan Street Bakery in Hell's Kitchen. Really good roast beef sandwiches and tons of other stuff. Their bread is amazing.
Just returned from NYC, didn't try any of those lol. Our journey was kind of chaotic, unfortunately. Next time we will plan a lot better. There is one place in Downtown Manhattan that I noticed no one mentions. Maybe its new - Siena Pizza on Rector Street. Its right next to the Holiday Inn Hotel there and we eat a few times there. They have that thing, which is like a sandwich made of pizza bread, tomato sauce and chicken. It is very tasty. They put more tomato sauce there, I think it is their own homemade receipt. In any case, it is worth visiting. I'm already planning the next trip, which will be next summer :)
